Horrible road noise and garbage men who came at 5am on a Saturday morning. The room itself was fine enough but I couldn't sleep at all.
And all this for $100 a night. Awful... awful awful. Never again.

Avoid this hell hole. The water did not drain in the restroom. Never again!

Dumpy but cheap. That pretty much sums it up. Now notice that I'm not saying "dirty", because it's not. This is just a cheap featureless motel by the freeway. It lacks a pool, has no on-site restaurant, and the landscaping pretty much consists of asphalt. However, it is very cheap, it's clean, the rooms are nice enough in that very standard boring motel sort of way, and they have an elevator which makes getting your bags up to your room easier if you're on the third floor (but for God sakes, take the stairs the rest of the time, the exercise will do you some good). My wife and I stayed there last fall when we were in town for a friend's wedding. The wedding was in La Jolla, but we were on a budget, so we stayed here. It didn't take us more than 10 minutes to get to La Jolla (the motel is right on the 805, one exit down from the 52, which takes you right into La Jolla), and downtown San Diego wasn't too far either. Triple-A rates it at two diamonds, but I'll give it three stars because it's cheap.
