Wow! What can I say?!
I wished I could have stayed longer. Getting to Day Dream was easy. It's located on the first floor in a big building marked with the address '2400' on Moorpark. There's no way you can miss it. Parking is easy as there is a big lot next to the building.
As soon as I arrived, Lupe greeted me with a warm smile and asked how I was doing. From there, she spent some time in getting to know me and why I was coming in to see her. Once I told her what was bothering me and what parts of my body I'd like her to work on, she immediately brought me to the room, gave me time to get ready and started what she does best.
The setting was modest and calm. I really felt relaxed and she applied perfect pressure (I tend to like the pressure a bit hard) and used great technique. The stretching is good too! I've had plenty of massages from different therapists and there's only a few I've been to that incorporate stretching into the session. Every now and then she would check on me to see how the pressure was and how I was feeling. After the massage, she spent more time explaining what she did to alleviate some of the tightness I've had and what I can to at home that would help.
She really gives you a massage throughout the whole time you're scheduled for. There's not too many therapists that I've been to that do that. Usually, they'll stop 5-10 minutes before the session is over so you can get dressed and drink water. Not the case with Lupe.
Other things I liked:
- You can schedule an appointment online. It's quick and easy.
- You get a reminder via email days before the appointment and also a call the day of.
- Office is modest and private. Nothing too fancy or extreme. It made things feel a bit more personal and that helps in being more relaxed.
At the end... you'll realize you've spent your money well.
Whew, what an experience! I didn't really know what to expect, but I knew I wasn't disappointed afterwards. Being the place for my first massage, I would highly recommend Day Dream Therapy as a place of relaxation.
Being foolish enough to not write down the location (I tend to just depend on the image of google maps to lead me where it was), I had to call them to help me find where it was (I probably should have looked at the exterior pictures on yelp too..). So write down where it is! It's not obvious where they are located since there are no big signs saying DAY DREAM THERAPY.
As I entered, Cynthia greeted me and asked me what I wanted. She was friendly, understanding, and very knowledgeable; Before the massage she briefed me on what she would do and how it would help relieve the problems that I stated.
During the massage, it was absolutely relaxing; the decor was nice, the music was soothing (hmm, I didn't know there were birds and wildlife living indoors with waves of water). She occasionally asked me if I felt okay or if I wanted her to to apply more or less pressure. It was accommodating, and it felt like what it should have been, relaxing. The stretches felt really good and overall the massage was extremely effective.
Afterwards, she debriefed me on what I should work on so I wouldn't have to come back too often such as stretches to help my back or drinking a lot of water. She thoroughly explained everything within her knowledge about the body in my case and I felt smarter(!). She also told me what kind of massages were best suited for me, excellent!
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this place, and I'll definitely be coming back next month or so.
Their website is also very helpful and convenient.
I'm not sure what to think about this place. I read the great reviews. I got a gift certificate from here from a friend and decide to give it a try.
First, I have a problem with a place that is "cash only" but has that listed nowhere on their website or on the email confirmations they give you. Being a first time client here, it would have been nice to be told this ahead of time. Yelp says they take credit cards. Well, not correct.
So great, I ask and they can take my traveler's check and well they can. I ask if I can use the new client discount, they say yes. After my massage I go to make payment find out they can't give me a new client discount because I have a gift certificate. So, I write out my traveler's check to them, sign it and hand it over. Well for a place that only takes cash, THEY HAVE NO CASH AS CHANGE. So I'm out of $65. So the only thing they can offer is a $60 gift certificate, but can't give me change for $5!!!! Yeah, and no offer for anything in return. Now I'm stuck with a gift certificate I never plan to use to a place I would not recommend to anyone. I'm going to get in touch with the owner to see what can be done in regards to a FULL refund for the gift certificate and the $5.
Even though the economy is down and hurting, and so is my wallet- I still refuse to go anywhere but Day Dreams Massage. I can get awesome massages without breaking the bank! And I do LOVE my massages. Yes, I LOVE LUPE at Day Dreams Massage too! She has the best quality massages that I have ever experienced and continues to provide outstanding massages that has you purring like a kitten by the end of your session! She's very talented and I highly recommend her for those looking for a good, quality massage!
I put a disclaimer, though, for those people that are used to getting specialty treatment at spas. Day Dreams Massage is not one of those high class spas that you go to where they have a koi pond in the middle of the room and such, so if you're looking for that, just go somewhere else. However, if you are looking for a real good massage, and don't care about the spa environment, please go to Day Dreams Massage. It will be one of the best decisions you will ever make for yourself!!

I will come back to this place in the near future. After the massage, I felt so lightened in my shoulders and neck since all my knots and kinks were gone,
The massage therapist is very professional and knows what he is doing.
Since Day Dreams had so many positive reviews on Yelp I decided to check them out.
I've had a bad shoulder for the past 4 years and felt like my shoulder would always be bad. Now I feel like my shoulder is getting better and that it will be completely healed.
Both Lupe and Pam are excellent at deep tissue. I felt very calm and relaxed at Day Dreams and they were both very professional.
Man, I'm such a stinker for not writing a review for Lupe posthaste-- not that there aren't enough reviews extolling her awesomeness already, but I'm all about the positive enforcement.
Lupe told me that she became interested in massage as she cared for her young son, who has neurofibromatosis. My impression was that she hasn't been practicing massage for a significant amount of time-- indeed, she is young, and young-looking!-- but her skills run deep, and she is extraordinarily intuitive. She is very communicative and will talk you through what she is doing, but she also listens very carefully to the body and firmly coaxes, not forces.
Of course Lupe is super professional but at my visit, we got to chatting like dang girlfriends, which is charming in it of itself. I do find myself in SJ often for work and I really like knowing that if my hustling schedule sends my neck into spasms, I can come to her.
Today I had my first visit with Lupe. I've been looking for a new regular massage therapist for the last few years as my previous one moved to the Midwest.
Lupe definitely puts the "therapy" into massage therapist. Lupe cares about my back troubles and wants to make them all go away. She gave me a game plan on what to do to take better care of my back and legs.
She's friendly and professional. I definitely have my new regular massage therapist now. She's instantly on my holiday card list!
Twitchy
Went there because of all the great Yelp reviews this place has. I have recently started stretch exercises and my muscles were sore, and I was generally feeling tired - their massage was quite relaxing! The dim, relaxed ambience of the massage room with soft music, is itself very soothing. And the place seems pretty hygienic too.
Lupe is a very warm and friendly person. She has a very informative website with lots of useful information.
I would definitely recommend this place. Worth the money!!
Cynthia is awesome! I went in because I had tension in my back. After her massage I felt awesome, she was able to work out the knots in my back and relieve the tension. I would definitely her and she will see me again at my next appointment.

My apologies for tarnishing the perfect review record for Day Dreams, but here goes...
I was looking for a great massage place in the area and I found the great review of Day Dreams on Yelp, and the even better special offer of the reduced price massage clinic after hours. There's no better way to try a new place than at a discounted price (especially during the holiday season, when money is especially tight!), so I tried calling to make an appointment.
The woman who answered the phone apparently didn't have access to the "special schedule" for the clinic at the reduced price. So she took a message and promised someone would call me back. Two days later and no returned message, I called again and got the same woman. I asked if there would be a better time to call to reach someone who could access the schedule. I called back this morning shortly after they opened, as suggested, but got a machine and left a message. So far, no call back.
Needless to say, I'm frustrated. The massages here may be great, but I wouldn't know, because I can't get an appointment. Will update if something changes.
I was first introduced to Lupe when she came to our company for chair massages. Loved it. I've been to her office a few times for a regular table massage and both times were great. Being an over 40 runner I have constant soreness in my legs and knots in my back. They were able to work it out and get me back on the road. The office is very clean and relaxing. The pricing is perfect. Making appointment on the website make the entire process pretty smooth.
Lupe was great on my first visit and every visit since. She is friendly and caring and since she's a physical therapist in addition to being a masseuse she provides assisted stretching as part of her massages. The atmosphere at her office is calm and pleasant. I started going to her because I had back pain and a sciatica problem. Since I've been going and doing her recommended stretching, my pain have gone away. Thanks Lupe!!!
Best massage!! I really like that they incorporate stretching with the massage. I work out a lot so I can always use the stretching. Very relaxing place, Lupe is great! I highly recommend Day Dream Massage!
As with many other reviewers, I decided to give Lupe a try during my time off from work as a teacher. Everything the prior reviewers stated are all true! During the visit, I was especially impressed and put at ease with her genuine concern in providing the best care for the time allotted. It was validating to hear her concern over certain areas of the back/shoulder/neck and how best to work on addressing those stressed areas. Without realizing it initially, I also noticed that she ran a little over the allotted time and gave me the great impression that sincerely wanted to make sure that I left feeling much better. Finally, she worked on stretching with me. Overall I had a great experience and left thinking about the next time I wanted to come back! Definitely check her out!
Lupe gives an amazing massage. She is very skilled at pinpointing where the tension is and has great intuition in choosing the techniques that work for your body. Lupe is a genuinely caring person who is concerned about the well-being of her clients. Like one of the other reviewers mentioned, you feel like you're visiting a good friend.
She is located in a medical building which feels like a tired medical building, but you would never know once you step into her office. She has transformed the space into a cozy, welcoming and soothing oasis.
My wife and I came here not knowing what to expect since this was only our 2nd massage ever.
Lupe and her staff were very professional and friendly. They really make you feel like you've known them for a long time!
It is very relaxing and refreshing to actually find a good place that cares and pays attention to you.
The reviews here are no joke. If you want a great relaxing experience without all the $$$$ frills of a big spa/salon, come here and get your money's worth.
Came here because of all the yelp reviews and I needed some serious help for my poor aching back. Too much stress from studying for the bar. Bought the family package because I knew I'd need several massages and the deal was great. Lupe has been wonderful. Seriously helped my back!
Lupe and her staff go above and beyond quality service. The attention to detail is key to her staff. Her massage is unique in the way she pays attention to her client's needs. I especially enjoy her stretching techniques, which are crucial to a healthy lifestyle no matter who you are. I highly recommend her services constantly to friends, family and co-workers.
I was recommended by a friend, who I play ball with to come see Lupe. I basically had a case of whiplash from colliding with another person on the basketball court. I had a really stiff neck and it was constantly sore and it was difficult to turn my head to perform normal daily functions. Lupe did an excellent job in working out the knots and stiffness in my necks, and it hasn't bother me since! What a relief!!! And what a pleasant experience. Lupe is definitely one of the best massage therapists that I've ever been to. She does an awesome deep tissue massage. Extremely personable and knowledgeable about massage therapy, Lupe exhibits a geniune care about your better health. I recommend Lupe to all my friends and family!!!
All I can say is WOW. I needed to see a therapist for my itbs and decided on Lupe based on Yelp. Must say, the prior reviews definitely are not exaggerating. She was awesome, and all the great things said about her in the previous reviews are true. My knee is feeling so much better and she really makes you feel comfortable. I would highly recommend her, especially for athletes. PLUS, you can book appointments online which is great.
I have been going to Lupe for over a year now. I tried her at her first spa day and I was hooked! She gives a great massage which is a blend of shiatsu, swedish and sports and I'm sure other stuff as well. She truly is there to make sure that you are a healthier, happier version of you. She not only will work on your knots and sore muscles but will also give you additional advice on what stretches to do that will help you. She educates you on your body and what is needed to get more oxygen to muscles and relieve muscle strain. I used to think massages were just a splurge item but now find that going regularly helps keep me healthier. She doesn't encourage you to see her more often to make money off of you...it's truly out of concern for you. I didn't realize this but every time you wait a long period of time between massages, then it's like starting over from scratch on all of those knots. The family plan is well worth it and very affordable. I break it up into 10 35 minute sessions (instead of 5 70 minutes) and go every 2-3 weeks to see her. She is very good and so it may be hard to get an appointment for today...but look to tomorrow, the next day or next week. You can easily book your own appointment on her website which is wonderful. No worries about her not answering her phone or calling you back. You can easily see the calendar and book your own appointment.
