In the beginning of February 2007 I had to go to David's Bridal to get a pair of shoes I need for a wedding.  I called them the week before and asked how long it would take to dye the shoes and to ask when I would get them back.  I was told it would take 24 hours and I would get the shoes the next day. WELL, when I was at the counter purchasing the shoes, the  sales girl told me I wouldn't get the shoes until MARCH 15th!!  I told her that I called the week before and was told differently, and she said "Well, it takes us 24 hours to dye the shoes but we get hundreds of shoes a week and it's a first come-first serve policy and we have lots of shoes to dye ahead of yours."  After that when I told her again that I needed them sooner and I was told I was going to get them sooner, the sales lady turned to another sales lady next to her and said (in a loud voice) "Do you hear what she's telling me?"  Whatever.  Because I already paid I couldn't stop the purchase, so I just left.  She didn't even apologize or anything.  She also seemed really annoyed that the bride wasn't registered there.  I had to push back my dress alteration date because I believed what they said over the phone.  Once I actually got the shoes and wore them for the first time, they left dye all over my feet.  NOT worth the $60 I had to dish out for them.

I went to David's Bridal in Sunset Valley today to look for a dress to wear to my wedding reception. I had picked out a simple design online - an occasion (not wedding) dress that came in multiple colors. They didn't have my size in stock in any color. The only way I could try the dress on was to special order it, pay for it in advance, and then exchange (not return) it if it didn't fit. In addition, they claimed that I would have to pay an extra $20 to expedite my order as my event is only a month away.

At this point I started to wonder what kind of crack they thought I was smoking. A cheap, generic dress from a chain store that is unreturnable and costs extra to arrive in four weeks?

Not so much.
