After reading a lot of good reviews on Citysearch.com, I decided to take my car for a 30K check up to this repair shop.
I took it on a Saturday morning at 8am. They open M-F 7-7, Sat 7-4, and closed on Sun.
For all of the check up plus two new tires, tire rotation, and wheel alignment, I expected everything to be done by noon at the latest. They told me it would be done by 11am. But I didn't get my car back until 3:30pm. Now, they outsource their wheel alignment jobs to another repair shop and they said this was the reason why it took so long. The total cost was at low $300s and the job performed were a complete factory recommended 30K check up, Complete transmission flush, Two almost-new front tires, tire rotation, wheel alignment, and an oil change. They even drove me to north Irving and picked me back up after it was all done.
Because of the inconvenience, they even gave me a free oil change for next time.
David is an excellent mechanic and all of his staff are very knowledgeable in cars and they will explain to you in detail what is wrong and what really needs to be done. When I went back because of a check engine light, he even gave me a great advice to keep the oxygen sensor clean from carbon build up and didn't charge me a dime for the check engine light check. It was gone.
Although the service took way too long the very first time I visited, I have confidence in their service and honesty.
My only advice is for them is to outsource their wheel alignment elsewhere.
EDIT:
The last time I visited this repair shop, the mechanic told me that the oxygen sensor may need to be replaced and the rear disk breaks seem to be normal.
Well, since then my car kept making louder noise and I had to go to the dealer to check on it.
It turns out, the break pads were all worn down to the metal and it was griding the disk. Thankfully, it wasn't too late and all I had to do was to get new break pads.
Hyundai's warranty also allowed me to have the oxygen sensor replaced at no charge.
There is NO WAY an experienced mechanic could not tell if the break pads were worn down or not. This led me to conclude that David's Automotive Repair Services was providing dishonest service.
I will NOT go back to this repair shop.
They also estimated my break pad replacement to be around $150. I got it done at a Hyundai Dealership, with genuine Hyundai break pads, for $180. Not a whole lot of difference in repair cost: thumbs down. 2 stars.
