38690 Stivers StI suffered a serious knee injury and then went to the emergency room, had it look and X-rayed. Since I was out of area, they recommend an orthopedic surgeon for me. The Orthopedic Surgeon looked at the knee, thought I twisted it but to be safe he recommended an MRI and gave me a knee brace and thought I should walk on it right away even though I was in great pain.
I was glad to hear from the first doctor it wasn't anything serious, but since it was out of area, my parents suggested I go see David Bell as they have seen him for other knee related issues since he was local. Well I got my MRI back and the original doctor was completely wrong, I had a complete ACL tear, damage in the meniscus, and slight tears in the LCL and MCL. Basically I fubared my knee and needed surgery.
I give you this background because Dr. Bell didn't need to the MRI to know I tore my ACL. He could tell just by looking at it, feeling it, and asking questions. He also though the doctors was nuts for having me in a knee brace and immediately put my knee in an immobilizer to prevent me from doing more damage.
What I'm telling you is that Dr. Bell known what he is talking about when it comes to knee injuries. He is update with all the recent studies and everything he has said prior and so far post operation has been 100% correct. His bedside manners are probably one the best I've seen from a doctor. Ever appointment I've seen Dr. Bell doesn't seem rushed to get to the next appointment and he gives you 100% of his attention. My father knowing something about ACL tears since my sister tore both of hers, says that Bell is probably as knowledgeable as they Doctor who did my sisters knee, Dr. Michael Dillingham, (if you don't know about Dillingham, google him and you will see that is quite a compliment).
His staff there has always been nice, pleasant, and very professional. They obviously take their lead after Dr. Bell. If I have one complaint about Dr. Bell it is that he is extremely busy. Because he is extremely busy he doesn't always make his appointment times, especially in the afternoon. Some people this will be bothered by this, and yes I will admit it is a bit annoying, but looking at the big picture, I rather be inconvenienced a little bit and wait to see him then having some other doctor without nearly the same level of expertise as Dr. Bell see me on time. Definitely 5 Stars and would recommend everyone to see Dr. Bell for all their Knee and Shoulder issues.
