I have I mentioned that I am a BBQ place snob? Yeah, a great BBQ place has amazing, perfectly smoked meat (always try the pork first, if they can't get it right, never bother with the more expensive brisket or ribs), great sides, a good sauce and great iced tea. I don't care about the buns or toast- what matters is the meat, sauce, sides and tea!

Winner! Winner! Winner! Winner!

Pork- shredded, smoked, not dried out and flavorful.

Sauce(s)- 5 or 6 sauces to choose from and most had a sweet flavor. The peppered Carolina was good, but the sticky pig was my favorite.

Sides: I had the baked/smoked beans. They smoke the beans over night and add pork. Maybe the best beans I have ever had. I almost got a container to bring home.

Tea: fresh brewed with ice, available in sweet and unsweetened. Since I don't want to get the diabetes, I opted for unsweetened.

This is a great choice for lunch in Madisonville. In fact, I am a bit jealous that I have to travel so far for it.

We were driving from Indiana to Tennessee and wanted some BBQ. Dave's is not far off Hwy 24 and when we saw the huge stack of wood behind the building we knew it was the real deal.

Very nice guy (Dave?) working the counter. He gave us recommendations and offered us samples. He told us he wouldn't eat at a place that didn't let him try the food first. We got the pulled pork and some sides, collard greens and horseradish mashed potatoes. WOW!! The food was great. Several different BBQ sauces to choose from. The collards were the BEST we had ever had and the horseradish mashed potatoes were so good.

Service was friendly and the place had a lot of locals enjoying great BBQ. Treated myself to one of their logo t-shirts. Hope to return next time we are in the area.

I love brisket. The brisket I just ordered from here is the most bland and texturally unpleasant smoked meat I've ever had. I should have known better and ordered the pork as a first time visit.

The baked beans and green beans were both amazing. So one star each for that I guess.

Stopped on road trip, easy to get to from highway. Drive through only. Very good pulled pork sandwich with 5 sauces to choose from on the side. Enjoyed Mac and cheese as a side.

The moment I walked in the door at shortly after 11 am, I was overwhelmed by the smell of Hickory Wood Smoke and took the lineup as a sign that great barbecue awaited me. I was right.

Brisket (which was shredded not sliced) and pulled pork and mutton (a Kentucky specialty) were all tender and smoky, but the pit beans were the knockout star. Full of flavour and smoke, these beans are clearly slow cooked over smoke.

Bought some of the bottled sauces which were a great souvenir from my 2017 Solar Eclipse road trip.

With a name like Dave's Sticky Pig it's gotta be good, but it's great!

One tip - if you are ordering a big bunch of items for takeout, check your bag before you go.

Great food ! Stopped here as we were traveling and it's a very small place but it's really good. We ordered the pulled pork, beans were outstanding. They live up to the 5 stars.

Hole in the wall joint with great Southern BBQ. Had the beef brisket, mac and cheese, and dill potato salad. Loved it all. Good selection of sauces to choose from.

Fantastic BBQ. I had a rib plate, baked beans and peach cobbler, all were great! Do you like baked beans, you go back here time and time again for the beans alone. The ribs were cooked perfectly cold right off the bone seasoned very well. Overall just a very good experience, the guys behind the counter were very friendly, Madisonville is lucky to have Dave's sticky pig. I will certainly visit again every time I'm in Madisonville.

Absolutely the best fall off the bone ribs! Fast for the food to come out and served with amazing service!
