My wife (Rita), daughter (Jasmine), her boyfriend (Jeff), and I stopped in here last night after seeing a movie. The place was pretty campy and a little cheesy. It was quite busy though with folks out on a Friday night to have fun.

For what's at the mall, there isn't a whole lot of parking. AMC-24, a comedy club and Dave and Buster's and the lot was packed. We parked way out. They do offer $5 Valet parking :)

We had dinner which was pretty meh. The strawberry shake was ok and the Philly Cheesesteak was one of the better ones I've had in the area (I hate green peppers on my PStk). Rita got the boneless chicken wings which oddly enough, had bones. The fries were crunchy and old. The waiter (Matt) seemed to take a break in between our meal so I didn't get a soda refill until I was done eating.

Of course you don't go for the meal :)

Rita and Jasmine both bought $10 cards and wandered around to check out the games.

1. Skee Ball. When Rita swiped her card, the machine said "lost ID" and spewed out a few tickets but refused to play. So Rita and Jasmine swapped out on the end machine.

2. The kill undead 4 video game (forget the exact name). Rita and I read over the instructions and grabbed the plastic guns. I swiped the card twice to get the two credits and we started the game. Unfortunately nothing happened and we were both killed immediately without being able to fire a shot. None of the floor guys were around so we went off to find something else. We saw later that it had been turned off.

3. Sportbikes. Rita and Jeff got on this one and it looked pretty fun. Then Jeff and I raced. The feel of the game was a lot like riding my sportbike. After a few seconds, I got the hang of it and was hauling. I kept up with Jeff and came in behind him. It wasn't until after that I remembered I had Nitrous and likely could have beat him :)

4. Race cars. Jeff and Jasmine ran this one first. Jeff didn't do too bad but Jasmine was driving all over the place. Then Rita and I went. I pretty quickly sat up instead of leaning back in the seat and did well, finishing almost a minute ahead of Rita.

5. We got to play the second undead 4 game so Rita and I proceeded to shoot up zombies. We got in a ways and both bit the dust at the same time. It was an ok game.

We played a few more games like tank wars and rode the Harley bike game (sucked). I wanted to play the undead game and ride the sportbikes again but it was getting a bit late so we headed on out.

I'm used to the Dave & Buster's in Atlanta, GA. The one in Atlanta has better games and is much larger. The bar does have a decent selection of drinks, and they aren't too pricey (I spent $14.50 on a 25 oz beer and a sangria). Good for an evening where you're bored and have nothing else to do.

I think I like D&B alot and I think some of that is a residual feeling of childhood when all I saw was pretty lights little tickets and flashy games. Now that I'm older (well olderish) I take a Little better look and don't like what I see.
The food is well food. There is nothing special there you would probably be better served going to a Denny's if it wasn't for the fact that you can get there power play meal in which they give you a free 10 card.

There games are expensive really expensive. most games cost at least 50c but I'd say the average is about a dollar. If you want any fighting games or arcade staples like Metal Slug or in fact anything that doesn't give tickets have a gun or a steering wheel you are out of luck. That being said they have alot of coin op games that give tickets but before you sit down in front of one find the switch that turns on the help light because you are going to need it. There games are serviced by teenagers who don't get the tools and parts they need to do anything so honestly I'd say 1 out of 3 games have a major issue. The saving grace is every person who works here knows this. They will come right over fix the problem and usually hit some levers under the glass to give you a couple hundred extra tickets.

The only reason that it gets two stars is the people. If you have a kid below ten or just want the novelty of walking around with a drink while you stand behind a 8 year old waiting  to play skee-ball this is the place for you. If not go to ESPN zone,

It's not like we don't have several game systems at home with many many corresponding games. It's not like we have even beat all of those games.

We just enjoy spending some of our hard earned money trying to breed, train, and race electronic horses, shoot monsters in the head, box with real gloves and try to avoid the punches coming your way, and try with all our video game wisdom to get every single ticket we can.

We also love the fact that you can do all of this with a beer in hand. We know it's going to be crowded. We know there will be lots of teenagers and kids. It just adds to the ambiance of pure video game fun.

I don't know what we are saving our tickets for currently we have acquired 33,000 something or other?  My hubby wants the electric guitar. I told him we need to be saving for the PlayStation 3 its only 115,000. He says it is cheaper to buy it.

Well duh? But what's the fun in that?

Now here's a place I can go to spend my disposable income. Wait? What's that? I don't have any disposable income? Oh. Right.

Dave & Buster's definitely knows how to eat a chunk out of your wallet. You almost forget how much money you're actually spending because the games cost weird numbers of credits and all you do is swipe your little D&B card to get the lights to start flashing.

This was my first visit to Dave & Buster's and I have to admit, it was fun. A friend was having a get together last Friday and we ended up having a group of 20+ people. I was one of the only ones who hadn't eaten dinner beforehand, so I ordered food.

A cheeseburger, some seasoned fries, a bowl of "spinach" dip...and $30 later...I got to the games. (The food wasn't horrible. It was about the same level as Denny's.)

The Super Trivia machine was great. Mostly because I kept on winning. I don't think the other five people I was playing against enjoyed the game as much as I did. :)

All in all, it was a good time but I don't see myself coming here more than once in a blue moon.

(-2) stars for: making my wallet sad, not having enough Hello Kitty prizes

I very much enjoy going to D&B's but usually for the games, not for the food. If you want food go somewhere else, but I'll give it 3 stars because it's dave and busters and it's fun
