It's a good place to go hang out and have a good time with friends BUT only during happy hour.
The food here is okay, I wouldn't recommend it for a date. I guess it's alright to order some appetizers to go with your $3 happy-hour-price drinks :)
I had my birthday party here at the midway room and I wouldn't recommend booking a room here either. Had a few issues with the waiters and the food didn't refill on time when it ran out.
The food keeps getting worse. I never expected much, but now it has dropped below even my lowest expectations. I had the terryaki sirloin. The mashed potato's probably came out of a box and the beef was chewy.
The game room at this particular site is also bad. There are very few newer games and there were a lot of games that were out of order.
I've been in here many times.. last night was really mellow.. there were booths available at the bar, possibly because everyone was at a party since it was Halloween. I ordered a mudslide and of course I had more sweets than alcohol but that is what I like anyhow! I enjoyed watching 2 innings of the World Series..
I will play the games next time.
This place is the chuck e cheese for adults. This place is fun and it is what you expect it to be. The recently upgraded their sports bar with new flat screen tv's. Drink prices are good at happy hour. Games are overpriced but so is their rent on the place so they gotta make up for that so you need to understand the business side of the place. Overall I would say this place is fun, it's not my favorite but I don't mind going here every now and then. When they have Sharks games on here in the back room then its really fun and exciting.
$3 Happy Hour Patron shots.. need I say more?
..ok, you're not sold, I guess I do.
My favorite place to watch a game, catch a happy hour, or have a group event. They keep the classic games, while mixing up the rest every so often.
RIP deep fried tempura mushrooms, hello eclectic variety of mini burgers.
Their bartenders change A LOT, so don't get too attached. I prefer the sports bar to the one in the game room.. cause I don't enjoy kids watching me drink.
Don't forget to grab a mini speaker from the front desk when you're watching a game, it makes for a better experience.
And once the clock strikes 10, peace out underagers..
Some people say..."Its like a Chuck E Cheese for grown ups." I say, "Its like Chuck E Cheese." Why do I still get treated like a kid here?
Came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday, which meant rounds of drinks through out the night. For every round we all had to show our I.D. to the bartender. What was the point of getting carded up in the front anyways?
This meant if I ordered four drinks at the bar for my friends hanging out at table booth, I had to go back to the booth and grab their IDs to show the bartender I wasn't a complete alcoholic. One drink per person policy was in a effect, so there was no double fisting to the Deal or No Deal ticket game.
Happy Hour has 1/2 off prices on drinks, which is cool, but like I said, "...Chuck E. Cheese!" When I was 9, my mother wouldn't let me get another slice of pizza until I finished my first slice at Chuck E Cheese. Its basically the same thing at D&Bs, but instead of my mother not letting me grab another slice on the way to the ball pit, the bartender won't let me buy a shot until I finish my pint on the way to air hockey.
My girls and I decided to venture over to D&B for one of my girl's 22nd birthday. Sadly, we never got in. The birthday girl had an ID that was expired for only over less than a month, but still had other proof of valid identity (ATM, Credit Card, etc.) but the man at the door still didn't let her in. AND it was on her birthday. OUCH! He wanted her to bring a valid ID right there when clearly we drove all the way from San Francisco to Milpitas. They're pretty strict with entry, but COME ON NOW, DOES THIS LOOK LIKE LAS VEGAS OR SOME HIGH END CLUB? It's just a place for people to eat and play games. COME ON NOW!
I've probably been here about 20 times since turning 21. My boyfriend loves this place so we come often. The happy hour is awesome, the drinks are cheap and good. The Mango Berry is delicious! It's my favorite. The food is OK. I've had the chicken fingers, this trifecta grill thingy, and some type of huge club sandwich. We don't come here for the food but for the drinks & games.
This place is BUSY on the weekends. I could barely move so we try to stay away and only come during the week.
We will definitely be coming back.
Why only two stars? Because...........
The Wednesday half off games deal is over!! nooooooooooooo
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
which sums out to...
-expensive games..........
-crowded people..........
-long wait at the bar........
-stupid covers on thursday and friday night........
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
9 tokens to play air hockey........... no way.

This place is awesome.
The drinks are really cheap but the wait service kinda sux. LOL this place is kinda like the Chuck E cheese for adults..get wasted and play arcades! AWESOME.
The only thing that really upset me about this place is that after being there for 3 hours and consuming lots of alcohol...I stepped outside for a few minutes and when I came back in I had to pay a cover charge. LAME..oh well I'll probably go back like a sucker
I like this place its nothing to write home about but is a good was to kill off a few hours. My friends and I have been going there since they opened years ago. We have pumped so much money intot that place we are gold card members (I know I needed a alife back then) I have collected enough tickets where I have gotten DVD Palyer vcrs every known glass or cup they have... The food is soso the bar is cool. if you just want to play some games this a place togo
CHEAP DRINKS. & YUMMY FOOOD.
You can't go wrong, but they get 4 stars instead of 5 for ending happy hour so early.
I've come here many, many times over the last several years to meet up with friends for food/drink, attend a work events or to just play some games. The game floor is pretty big with a pretty nice variety of games.
The food is average and the service is generally ok at best. Most of the time the service is below average.
I would avoid going on a Friday/Satuday night. The place gets too crowded and not worth the wait to eat. The game floor is especially crowded these nights..
This is a pretty cool place to go to, it's like a chuck-e-cheese for adults. On weekdays, drinks are half off. This place does offer good food as well. They also have awesome games; however their power card is a bit overpriced in my opinion.
Ate Aloha steak here. Sweet, juicy and soft. Come here for games and parties. Thats about it.
I really don't understand why everyone has such a boner for Dave & Buster's. I never have and I never will. Came here when I was 20 w/ some co-workers. Had the Bel Air Pear Martini. It was delightful. Probably expensive, too. It was a long time ago, so I really don't remember (I am old now). I came here maybe a year and a half ago with my ex-boyfriend, as well. We drank overpriced beers and played video games.
This place is like Chuck E. Cheese but with a full bar. Oh, and it's way less cool than Chuck E. Cheese. It's expensive, it's always too busy, and you never really win enough tickets for anything cool. When I was here with the former boy, we got some D&B's shot glasses. Which have lead in them. AWESOME! I love shot glasses I can't use without worrying about being slowly poisoned. Yeah! Thanks, guys!
Alcohol is cool. Arcades can be cool, too. Video games and arcade games are fun. What's not fun is being in a place that's about 20,000 degrees and spending a ridiculous amount of money on beer, drinks and food when, for a lot less money, you could grab a 12 pack, or martini fixins, and go play your boyfriend's (or friend's boyfriend's) Wii or 360. Because we all know he has one. And, while hanging out at someone's house drinking and gaming lacks the "going out" aspect that I suppose D&B's has, it's ultimately a lot cheaper and more fun...especially since you're not wasting a shitload of money playing The Simpsons or some first person shooter.
so i'll keep it at two stars since i somehow end up back here all the time. i guess it's big enough to have a big party and whatever blahblah but this place still sucks balls.
1) the manager letting my room mate in and then kicking her out because her ID is expired = not crackin. that's your dumb ass fault for letting her in in the first place [btw, she's a legit 21 year old. she had all her credit cards, student ID with photo, etc. but you know how they roll here]
2) brandon the bartender: you're a douchebag. thanks for giving my boyfriend and our party hella attitude on his birthday. i ordered an LC for the boyfriend, and this guy tries to make him take a shot that's already been made and sitting out on the bar for hella long.. and he's also trying to CHARGE him for it even though he didn't order that shit. wtf?
3) happy hour now ends at 11. one less reason to go to this dump.

SO annoyed, just went to celebrate my cousin's 17th birthday with the family, and so now you have to PAY for a dessert to have them sing happy birthday. Even though my aunt was trying to quietly tell the guy it was my cousin's bday, he made sure to tell her loudly that she has to buy a dessert now to get the birthday experience.
I know that this is a petty complaint in the grand scheme of things, but when so many other restaurants will do that for free, I have a right to be annoyed, yeah?
And then they tried to cheat my aunt out of money she had on a gift card.
To top it all off, they were WAY rushing us out of there. Used to love this place, but really, how much does a scoop of ice cream and a candle cost them? Its the principle of it all.
On thursday night, you have to pay a cover of $3 and although you get a powercard which has enough for about 1 game...THE SERVICE IS SO SLOW. You'll be lucky if you can get a drink without waiting for about a hour. Gah!
& I was told that they changed their happy hour. It ends at 11? o_O

Even though HH is only 9-11PM now, I still think it's a great place to spend time with friends with a refreshing round of drinks (Thank you Brandon for those Dirrrrty Birds) and some great bonding time with 1/2 off games Wednesday. However, 1/2 games ends NEXT week folks! This makes me a little sad.
We had a great night here and even though our coins got stuck, THANK YOU Richard B. for saving us TWICE and fixing the machine, we still had a great night vieing for MVP status, in regards to the person winning the most tickets.
I will mourn the end of 1/2 games all day Wednesdays :(

D&Bs! Maybe not on the weekends but definitely on weekdays especially Thursdays . This place is awesome ESPECIALLY during happy hour time. Sometimes, I just want to drink so I'll come here during happy hour and get some fun drinks.
Your night can't get much better than being drunk and playing house of the dead.
Solid 3 stars for the dining experience. I've been here other times for fun and those are always more stars but this review is just for the dining experience.
Went here with fellow Yelper Vicky T. for lunch on a Friday. Place is located adjacent to the Great Mall in Milpitas, easy access to freeways and lots of parking. Can get very crowded during the evenings and peak shopping season but it's easily accessible.
~ 5 stars for accessibility and parking
Wasn't very crowded at all and we easily found seats in the Midway games area. Nice friendly decor, very sports and games oriented theme (as you would expect) - clean, airy and spacious. Bar tables are big and stools are comfortable. Lighting is great - noise levels can be high in the Midway area but then, you expect that. Big bar in the center, great choice of libations.
~ 4 stars for ambiance
Waitress came right on over with menus and took our drink orders. Drinks came out promptly along with silverware and our food orders were taken. No water - we didn't ask for any but don't most places place some water for you by default? I didn't think of it until now so obviously, it didn't matter to me then :) Food came out in a reasonable time. I asked for malt vinegar for my fish and chips and the guy who brought out the food said he'd be right back but never showed up. Ended up walking to the bar and asking for it from the bartender. And the original waitress never showed up again - perhaps she was on break or done for the day. Service was a little less than expected, especially since they were not crowded at all.
~ Grudging 3 stars for service. I would have given it a 2 but ah, what the heck! :)
Food was OK - in line with my expectations for every chain restaurant. The fish was quite good, crunchy but not too heavily breaded. And the fish itself flaked very nicely. Fries could have been done a little more - I like them a little browner and crunchier :) I tried a piece of the Philadelphia cheesesteak roll from Vicky and it was OK - nothing to write home about :) Portion size was just right for lunch (though I couldn't finish more than two thirds of my fish.
~ 3 stars for food
So, overall, pleasant lunch experience. Good ambiance, satisfying food, good company and another Friday afternoon starts drawing to a close :)
~ 3 stars overall

This D&B's screams mediocrity in all aspects.
As a restaurant: Ehh, the food is okay. nothing new. They can't cook steaks the way you want it, but hey, what do you expect? Their service is okay, bordering slow.
As a bar: well, it definitely has that bar vibe. TVs playing sports, friendly bar tenders, but mixing it with a restaurant and a game lounge just drops its cred. at least to me. I don't like it particularly. But it will do if you just wanna chill with the guys for guys night out.
As an arcade: Ehh. Great job catering to the young at heart "mature" people, but really, I still see a whole lot of kids running around here. ehh, like i said. It does a great job with the tons of games it has, but its still an arcade and kids are drawn to it, so this is pretty much why the bar doesnt work out. but like i said, its an average arcade. Kind of like a chuck e cheese's for both kids and adults.
overall D&B gets an okay in my book.
Overrated.
The food is decent... not bad. I ordered the philly cheesesteak and the peppers tasted a little funky. I liked my boyfriend's order of charboiled steak though.
Alcohol - Not consistent at all. My sex on the beach was way too sweet and fruity and there was no vodka taste to it at all. My friend's AMF was way too strong. The traditional mojito was good, but damn the tropical one is HELLA GOOD. They managed to run out of mint leaves though. Tell me why I had four drinks and I didn't feel shit. They must be holding back on the alcohol.
Arcade - The whack a mole machine sucks. It is almost as if it is broken. I played the same machines all night long because there were only so many. The prizes suck too.
Hint: If you plan to play pool reserve the table early. Don't try to wet your tickets because my friend did and all you will get out of it is causing a long as line and getting a disappointed look from everyone!
This place is the devil
I do not recommend:
* Excessive drinking..
* Patron shots
* Vodka on the rocks
* Chugging a 'Walk the Plank"
* Chugging any drinks
* Talking to random people
* Getting friendly with the bartender.. unless you want your drinks to be served "eff-me-up" style.
* Playing the claw machine with the giant stuffed animals.. its rigged.
I do like:
* Friendly bartenders and staff
* Stiff drinks (limits!!!)
* Large, clean (for the most part) bathrooms
* Mario Kart (even tho I didn't get to play.. they have it!)
I guess I had a good time... I'm just a little hungover.
Dave & Buster's, you are so full of epic fail! It seems like all my friends have had their own horror stories with D&Bs. So I guess I was due and it was time for me to have my own. Last night I came here on my b-day with a few friends to get a few drinks. Only one problem, they wouldn't serve me any drinks as my driver license expired that day. I had my license renewal paperwork with me, and another photo id for proof. Just because my license expired that day doesn't make me less than 21, as I'm quite a few years past it now. Thank you D&B for trying to ruin my night! In return for my experience last night I'll give you the same treatment, 1 star! Thanks for nothing and I'll see you again real soon. NOT! Feed your fun? HA!
p.s. Your food sucks too!
This place is the perfect place to drink especially during thursdays happy hour and play games! Numerous types of arcade games from 3 point basketball to jump rope. The games here are pretty pricey but I heard its half of games on WEDNESDAYS.
The atmosphere is really lively and active, perfect place to bring a group of friends for the evening to hang out.
Downside is that they close at 12:30. BOO on that.
Guy at the front, i think his name was Duke, was a Douche. His assistant was a Douche. Manager was a Douche. This place is full of Douchebags. Just go downtown.
As a bar, it's a great place to bring your friends and hang out and drink and play games.
It can get pretty crowded and ordering a drink can be as challenging as the video games there.
Thursday night is the night you want to come because Its happy hour from 10 to close. But from what I hear recently that they have changed it to 11 pm so I don't kno how crowded DnBs will be anymore which may or may not be a good or bad thing.
When coming to Dave & Busters, if you follow these few rules, more than likely you will have a good time.
1. Do not come here to eat lunch or dinner. The entrees suck. Come only for drunken snacks, like fries, potato skins, etc.
2. Come on Wednesdays from 4:30 - 7:30. Drinks & Games are half off. It's too expensive to pay full price.
3. Take advantage of the Power Hour. $10.00 for unlimited games Monday - Friday, between 4:30 - 7:30. Keep in mind, this is only for the games that do not give out ticketes.
4. Happy hour + 1/2 drinks = good times.
5. Avoid the tweenie crowd, and the cover charge, and DO NOT come on weekend nights. Weekday late afternoons is the best time to go.
If you follow these rules, Dave and Busters should be fun instead of a wasted bust.
DnBs is good place to go to if you want to take a break from clubbin' or save money from going to typical downtown bars. It is like the Chuck E Cheese for adults. I come to DnBs mainly for happy hour but every time I dined here, the food is not that bad. Their entrees are not as big as they seem in the menu, but some of the food on the menu is pretty good.
The best days to go for happy hour are on Wednesdays because you always get 1/2 off the games. If you want to go mingle and still pay happy hour prices, then go on a Thursday night, however you still have to pay a cover charge which is like 3-5 dollars (I forgot). The quality of the alcoholic drinks depend on which bartender you go to. I always go to a particular bartender whenever I am at DnBs. By the way, happy hour is Mon-Thurs: 3pm-7pm, 9-11pm. Fri: 3pm-7pm. There's no happy hour on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
Miss GG and I were the oldest mofos in the place. And I think we missed the memo because we weren't wearing Raiders gear or 6 inch pleather platform stilettos.
I'm still mad at the fact some games cost 10.2 credits. WTF is that about? What happened to whole numbers? Either way, we managed to make $20 last an hour AND being the big skeeball pimps that we are, we earned 642 tickets. Yes, I said earned. Skeeball is damn hard!
The rest of the place, eh. For some reason I remember it being bigger and not smelling so much like feet and french fries. But we still had a great time. It's always worth a stop now and then.
Dave and Buster's is fun fun fun! Seriously it is like Chuck E Cheese for grown-up! I love the arcade games here and they have drinks too. Last time I came here with two friends and we kept playing the basketball game as well as this other really easy game. The friend has since moved to another country (*sniff*) but I still have my gift to remember him by!!! My other friend still lives in the Bay but I don't see him often... well at least we each got a cool stuffed animal that says "MY NAME IS MARTHA AND YOU WON ME FROM DNB'S"). LOL
As Nightlife...
1.) 1/2 off Wednesdays! = Yay! Includes billiards! No silly cover charge. Plus get happy hour prices for cocktails. BEWARE HALF OFF DRINKS DON'T INCLUDE BEER OR WINE!!!!!! It's only a dollar off beer and wine. Hella tricky advertisement! Another drawback, closes a little earlier at 12 I think
2.) Thurs = $3 cover charge is lame, no ins and outs is super lame, kinda crowded I hate waiting in line to play my games!!!
3.) Fri + Sat = $5 cover charge LAME, and suuuuper crowded and long lines for games!
ATMOSPHERE:
a.) Decor = Lots of arcade games, my favorites are Mini basketball, Daytona, sometimes rifle game but they took it out, Trivia, the horse race, and air hockey. Two bars, dining area, and billiards area. You would think a place with lots of games would end up looking like a trashy casino, but no, their atmosphere is pretty nice.
b.) Crowd = Is Thurs still Asian night? I don't even notice any more. But I guess it's mostly younger 20s, a tad ghetto, casual dress except for some of the girls who are going clubbing afterwards? Or did they really get glammed up for DnB? Sometimes you get the older people playing, and very few families at night, which makes me anxious coz I have to watch my language around the kiddies.

FOOD & DRINK:

In response to my friend Mike's "expired" ID denial and as someone who's gotten kicked out of D&B on more than one occasion for well... having fun, I too give this crapshoot 1-star.
They also like to call the cops on people. Stay away if you actually want to enjoy your night.
Hmm..I guess this is the only adult place to go if you want to play games (and I don't mean computer games because they don't have any)?
I came here to watch the opening of the Summer Olympics and omg it was so crowded. Good thing we got reservations because we were able to sit right in front of the big screen! The waiter was a bit overwhelmed with our party of 12 people so he kind of messed up on our order. That's okay because he apologized and tried to make us laugh (hehe). There's a lot to choose from on the menu, but the food doesn't taste that great. I think the appetizers were better than the entree choices, but maybe I'll have to go again to try some other entree.
Going for happy hour and late night with friends is fun because there's lots of games to play...after an hour or so it does get boring so we just get drinks and sit around the table talking about random stuff. I wish they had better deals for food/ticket, but since the food isn't that great I probably wouldn't get it anyway. . .unless the entree was FREE with a purchase of a $20-$30 card!
Oh..and their prizes are BLAH so if you go to play games and get a bunch of tickets, just give it to some kid :) It'll really make their night.
I love their food. The Lacey's chicken is so good! I was disappointed on my last trip that they no longer serve the fried mushroom appetizer and that the bathrooms were so disgusting, but overall it ok.
Happy Hour is the best here! Half price drinks but there are no specials on food. Also good if you have kids but it gets a little pricey for all the games.
Nice place to go to get drunk and get loud. Can't take the kids here late night but that's what Chuck-E-Cheese is for.
Their restaurant is okay. Not worth waiting for IMO so make sure to reserve or plan to get tanked at the bar beforehand.
Their happy hour stuff is alright. Be prepared to pay up when you get the bill though.
