My husband's first comment when walking in: "Wow, it's a grown-up's Chuck E Cheese!"
Yes folks, that about sums it up! Dave and Buster's is Chuck E Cheese sans the overstuffed characters, crawling tubes, and bright decor.
Let's start with the likes. The food deal they have going is pretty rockin'. There is a side menu with certain meals that can be purchased for $15.99 or $17.99. They each come with a $10.00 game card. So, you are basically getting a restaurant quality meal for $5.99 or $7.99. I ordered the chicken tacos. My husband ordered a Philly Cheesesteak. Both meals were excellent and rather large.
The gaming price was pretty decent. A $10.00 game card entertained me for about an hour and a half.
The food service was great. Tico was a wonderful and attentive server.
Fantasmo....good food, fun games, and good service. But...here's what goes on the "no bueno" list:
Cleanliness - you get that "I must shower off the grime feeling."
The ticket collecting place - I was a first timer. I wanted to know how to redeem a prize for my pathetic amount of tickets. The guy at the ticket booth had such a nasty attitude as if I was stupid for not knowing. Gees sir, so sorry for not being a professional gamer.
Dinner and games for two: $40.00 with tip
Drinks for two: $25.00
Beating your husband at EVERY game played - PRICELESS -

Went to celebrate my daughter's birthday... she had a great time at the arcade. many games to chose from and she earned enough tickets to get a decent gift (unlike the cheese mouse!). Restaurant food unimaginative, just your regular TGI Fridays, beefed up Denny's fare; nothing special. Saturday afternoon with no H Hour, kind of disappointing.

The experience at this restaurant was awful!! The service was horrible- it took the server 10 minutes to greet us and when our food arrived we were given no silverware and had to wait an additional 5 minutes until they could round some up. The steak was not cooked as I asked but our server never came back so we could tell her. We asked another server to help us and never got the steak back. When our server finally arrived to give us our check we asked about our steak ... When she finally brought us it, along with the check, she charged us for 2 steaks and a "manditory 16% gratuity"!!!! There was no way to reduce the gratuity and we were forced to leave a $7 tip to someone who gave the worst service. I'll never frequent here again and will make sure that I tell everyone I know what poor service they offer!!!

I think the idea of mixing in food and games is the best. It just so happens to only work for casinos. I mean, I've gone to a sports venue and watched a game while eating, but that's not what's at stake here.
Eating and playing just hasn't been perfected. I even have a problem trying to eat some simple bar food while playing pool. It also doesn't help that the food is not good. The beer isn't even cheap....
But I will say, shooting hoops at the basketball machine is fun. Unless that dude who hogs up all of the machines is there. He's always there. -

Never again. Aaarg, what a disappointing experience. My wife and I went to D&B's with my cousin and his wife, having recently eaten, we decided to split a burger, which we ordered from their "Eat & Play" menu. The "Eat & Play" menu is a specific menu of close to 20 items which, for a few dollars more, gets you a $10 gaming card - for you to use to game with.
To begin with, our waiter had absolutely no sense of cordialness. He seemed like he was in a rush and attempting to avoid someone. What this basically winds down to is that he pretty much hurried through the motions of taking down our orders, almost like a boring routine, before snatching away our menus.
My cousin ordered a Blue Moon in a 22 oz cup...for $6.50 (WTF? I could've bought a 6-pack of Blue Moon at that price) and it came with out an orange wedge. Wanting to really enjoy his beer, he waited for our waiter who was zipping back and forth to other tables like a crack fiend searching for a rock. Eventually, he stopped another server and asked him for a wedge.
Finally our food came, it was good; not great, just good. My wife asked for extra pickles and we waited for about 10 minutes before we stopped another waiter to ask for extra pickles -

My wife and I come here often. It is the only DB in the area that I'm aware of. I guess Gameworks is pretty much the same, but we have a lot of DB points so we continue coming here for a quick date.
The food is ok, but I can't understand the service. It is always slow, no matter what time of day and not very attentive.
There are a couple of tips worth mentioning though that can be used for any DB. Wednesdays are half prices except in the Summer. If your there during a weekday they always have a special where you can order a certain entree and get a $10 game card, all for about $15-$22. You have to really look at what your buying because in some cases it actually isn't really a deal. There are now 2 kinds of nachos. One that is like nachos with a pile of chips and then there is some kind of quesadilla nachos where they give you like 4 chips. So make sure you know what your getting. I've made that mistake twice.
I believe they started charging $5 cover if there is a fight going on PPV. I would rather stand outside of the wing place downstairs if I wanted to see the fight for free (getting a table there during a fight is a 2 hour wait). Some fights you can pay about $20 (or is it $25) and you go to the Bday room to watch the fight with a small buffet. I do not recommend that. It's always crowded and annoying. -

Did NOT know they had 1/2 off drinks on Thursdays from 10pm-12am!! STRONG drinks too! I love playing Fruit Ninja on my phone, so you can imagine how excited I was when there was 4 huge screens for Fruit Ninja. Mix in some Vodka in there and we got a competition! I can't wait for Thursdays now!!!

My hubby and I are avid D&B goers, but lately have been slowly pulling back. I now know why, when obligatory gratuity is placed on the menu: please tell me DOES THE WAITER REALLY GIVE A CRAP about the people sitting at the table. Answer: NO! He cared more when we signed off the check: reassuring we didn't walk away with his pen. Food has never disappointed, accompanied by the Carol City Kool aid (delish), the games though seem more worn out, breaking down.
BATHROOMS have ALWAYS, can I tell you ALWAYS had me disgusted. The smell the paper on the floor, the paper overflowing in the trash bins. I have made a point if i can go to the mall bathroom: I'd rather. Or if it's not that bad just, HOLD IT. -

I'm a regular here.
Half price drinks from 4-7 during the week and then again from 10-CL
from Sunday-Thurs. And then when you're buzzed enough there's games surrounding you to keep you entertained. Great for groups since everyone can find something they like whether it's playing pool, watching sports at the bar, playing Deal or No Deal (my personal fave), or jamming out with some Guitar Hero. Never a dull moment.
The food is not bad either. The soft pretzel bites are a delish snack (and are good for soaking up some of that alcohol before you make a total ass of yourself on Dance Dance Revolution.) -
Review from Gina P.
Took the family out for the 1/2 off games Wednesday special and had a pretty good time.
Starters: Loaded nachos and cheese sticks (very calorie conscience)- everything was pretty average and overall not really worth the calories.
Dinner: We ordered the buffalo sliders and philly cheesesteak which were big enough to share and so we did. The waiter must have misunderstood me when I said no mushrooms but yes to peppers and onions. Not completely his fault since we went back on forth on it with the kids which would confuse anyone. I guess to be safe he 86ed it all but the meat and cheese. No real biggie. The sandwich was a good size but they did skimp on everyone's fries. Why restaurants, WHY?!?!?!?! Just humor me with the extra dose, we all know it doesn't cost you that much more. We would've ordered our little one a burger but the one on the kid's menu was too big for a 2yr and at $6 we decided it wasn't worth it so he ate from our plates. The buffalo sliders are buffalo chicken fingers in a mini bun. Not gonna complain about them though because they tasted pretty darn good and after only two (despite the lack of fries on my plate) I as full.
Dessert: Our friends ordered a chocolate cake and even though I'm not a huge restaurant dessert fan I tried a piece and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely big enough to share and because it was SO sweet 9 of us shared it only had a spoonful but felt it was more than enough. Would order it again in a group as a nice sweet finish.
Games:The kids hit the games throughout our meal, they've added quite a few new games which everyone enjoyed but it's expensive even at half off.
Prizes: there's just one way to put it....they suck! Anything that is any good is worth over 5000 tickets which means you have to have burned through well over $100 for a $10 blender. Ugh! What they need to start giving is free meals and drinks as prizes. Make it REALLY worth my while.
Did we eat, yes. Did we play, yes. Was it expensive, I think so but it was a night out on the town that everyone at all ages enjoyed which is always pretty awesome. -

Dear Dave & Busters,
How you managed to screw up bar food, I have no idea, but you did. We had lunch here on Saturday to get our carbs up before the big lap around the stores... I knew we should have eaten somewhere else!
The Spinach dip was watery and flavorless and pretty much non-existent. What kind of portion was that?!?
I ordered the Mini Burgers and they were sooo greasy and sooo gross. The entire bun was soaked in oily grease and the bits of onions tasted like Crisco. The bf ordered some kind of crispy shrimp thing. It was better than my mini burgers, but still not quality.
By the end of my mall adventure, I was feeling deathly ill to my stomach from lunch. Thank goodness for Alka-Seltzer. To be fair to you Dave, I will let you know that the bf LOVES this place and will be back. I, however, will ensure to eat elsewhere first.
Respectfully,
Sabrina*Listed in: The Bad and the WORSE...

They take advantage of the fact that they are the only "game" in town. Doral has no other Game type venue. The last time we went MANY games were out of order, for example only two out of the five Skeet Ball lanes were working, various games took our swipe for points and then would not work. We went to play pool and the computers were down, so we could not. No offer to help us... just a "no, the computers are down - we can't give you a table".
The absolute worst part was the restaurant. It was empty, only 3 other tables had patrons. It took them 15 minutes to take our drink order and another 15 to take our food order. That was a total of 30 minutes to take our food order. The only reason I didn't walk out was because my child was dead set on eating there. Once we made the order, after 20 MORE minutes we were told the computers were down (really???) and they hadn't registered it (so far its 50 minutes since we sat down). When we FINALLY got our appetizer it was horrible and cold.
We had to flag down a server various times for WATER refills, plus to ask for a set of utensils that were never given to the 3rd person in our party in the first place. There were more employees walking around the restaurant then patrons, the boredom and lack of interest was palpable.
The fries were soggy and cold, and the donut holes we had for dessert obviously no less than 24 hours old, and cold. After all of this, they charged us 16% service charge. On the bottom of the credit card bill the "gratuity" portion was empty and large - If I had not noticed the 16% they were already charging me I would have double paid the tip. How many people don't realize they are paying 16% as it is? No wonder the service is dismal, they know that not only will they get 16% but maybe the client is so distracted that they end up with a 32% tip.. A win/ win situation for the servers no matter what.Listed in: NOT a fan!, Miami

Woo Dave and Busters,...woo nothing i'd rather go to GameWorks.
I like pin-ball and i coudnt find any pinball machines. I like skee ball and skee ball eats my points and gives me either way too many balls or not enough balls. I did find a video poker game that i did enjoy a bit. I was able to sit there for the rest of the evening while my sister and her friends did their thing around the place.
when i needed to refill my play card they had plenty of stations to refill but some of the touch screens need some serious calibration. I practically have to touch the kid playing the game next to the screen to get the selection i want.
if you win tickets in game the prizes are w/e, my sister got a electronic bank/safe, that never unlocked so we had to break into it and fix it. I saw they have a blender.. pretty interesting. I might just save up my tickets for that.
on to food, my mom got these philly cheesesteak egg rolls... UBER SALTY... id rather drink up the dead sea. My pasta was ok, but the pasta was overdone kinda mushy. the chicken fingers my sister had looked good but she wouldnt let me taste.
Drinks... are ok, i didnt get anything too phenomenal taste wise. i think i would have been more satisfied with a beer and/or dead sea water.
The parking in dolphin sucks and the people who drive there suck more. If it weren't for my sister who like this place id probably stick with gameworks anyway. Closer and even though the parking garage maybe packed and crazy after a movie, i can bet you they arnt going to run you over anytime soon.Listed in: Places i can't eat...…, I want to love you...really i…

Wednesdays is 2 for 1 token night and was the perfect place to bring my nephew. What that means is that for every token you buy at the regular price, they give you another token. He's a teenager now, but this place is as good as it gets, especially when your Uncle is paying. I scored 28 points on the big basketball hoop and 70 points on the little one, but now I think he might have let me win so I won't stop taking him to Dave & Busters.
He ended up the night with thousands of tickets which he graciously agreed to save for his cousin. His big win of the night was 1,000 tickets on the Wheel of Fortune.
BTW, I like the Philly Cheese Steak but it just didn't taste the same after my last visit to Philadelphia.
If you're going west on the 836 from Miami, make sure you get over into your far right lane after the toll booth, otherwise you'll miss the NW 12th Ave ramp. There is plenty of parking at the Dolphin Mall. -

They made me swear off cheeseburgers...for a while. If they can mess up simple food that even Mickey Dee's could do right...that says alot about their...lack of any culinary skill.
Went there with co-workers for dinner/10pm happy hour. Our waitress wasn't the nicest...considering it wasn't the busiest time of the night and we were a big group...didn't she want extra tips??? My friend enquired about the happy hour drinks and beer...and she was like "tell me what u want and I will tell you whether it's on the special" And she took FOREVER to check with us for more drinks or give us our check!
Food was blah. I got the Buster's Cheeseburger...half pound burger with apple-smoked bacon and cheese. How on earth do you screw it up??? I ate half of it...the meat patty had some funky smell...like it was frozen before (which is probably was!). Oh well...whatever else my co workers ordered were...mediocre at best. Margaritas were strong; I could smell my friend's drink from across the table. My red Sangria was rather...cough-syrup tasting. There was karaoke, pool tables and arcade games but I didn't play any games so I can't comment. Crowd was mostly late teeny-poppers...some early 20s somethings at the bar. They have two show rooms that you can book for private parties and events. Overall, I did not like the place.
Bottom line: you know the club you go to because the music is hot/not bad...but the drinks suck? It's like that with D & B...they trick you into coming because of the games and TV screens...but the food and atmosphere...BLAH!
Tip-bits:
Good for big groups, so you can escape while you can!
Service charge included.
Don't eat the food, unless you are starving! -

It'll keep you coming back when there's nothing else to do with your day/night. This place has both the chill sports bar scene, and the crazy loud arcade game area. The calm area filled with pool tables, a bar, dimmed lights, and High Definition TVs is more the adult area, it'll keep you simmered while you enjoy a stress relieving drink or a pool game with a few buds. The OTHER side on the other hand is the complete opposite, if you want to get crazy surrounded by all kinds of video games this is the place to be and to add to all the great entertainment theres also a restaurant-like area in the middle of the whole arcade place where they serve some great food, specifically their burgers. All in all I recommend this place to anyone who would like a good time.

New Year's Eve 2009 was a blast here! My husband and I [age 27 & 28] were in town getting ready to leave in a couple of days on a cruise, so we wanted to celebrate NYE low key but have fun. We chose to go to this Dave & Buster's and are glad we did. For $100 each had an open bar, fabulous buffet dinner (salads, shrimp cocktails, grilled chicken, potatoes, carved meat, veggies, and dessert table) and free play for 5 hours!!! We had a blast....the food was much better than we expected, the open bar was just that and we got doubles each time and having unlimited game play enabled us to really get competitive and act like little kids. They had music and dancing in one room with champagne toast and countdown at midnight. The place is huge, staff is friendly and a place where adults and kids can both have a fun time!
And I highly reccomend the NYE bash if you are not into the high dollar club scene -

Visiting Miami a couple of weekend's ago for the Steelers-Dolphin game, my family and I decided to see what all the hullabaloo was about Dave & Buster's. Having heard of it via the friend grapevine, we figured it would be the perfect place to spend a Friday evening.
Located in the busy Dolphin Mall, Dave & Buster's packed a powerful food and entertainment punch. The menu selections were astounding. For a place that prides itself on entertainment selections, the menu offered a wide-variety of mouth-watering temptations. Even if you're just looking for a place to grab some grub, Dave & Buster's fits the bill. My mom and I split a chicken parmesan sandwich was perfect for two and absolutely delicious. Being a fan of a good vodka tonic, I tried their Organic Cucumber Vodka Concoction. Refreshingly crisp and delicious. A smooth blend of vodka, tonic and a hint of cucumber.
A magician peddled around to each table presenting a collection of small but impressive tricks and subsequently robbing patrons of a few dollars. Aside from the magician, the video games and pool tables were aplenty. Adults and kids alike will find something to keep them engaged.
The only cons were trying to find a parking space - Dolphin Mall is a madhouse so be prepared to drive around during busy times looking for a space. If it's a weekend night, get there early or be prepared to wait for a table. Service was a tad slow but it was a Friday evening, when we were there none of their machines were accepting debit or credit cards to purchase cards for the video games. Otherwise, it's a great place to spend time with friends, family or romantic interest. -

Ate dinner here and was not impressed, we were a party of eleven our waiter was pretty friendly and came to our table promptly to take our drink orders, however, once that was done he disappeared. After awhile he came back and took our food order, the food came out pretty fast except for my order. I had to wait and wait since our waiter had done a Houdini again. Finally I tracked him down and he was able to get my order (they did comp me the dish).
What can I say, but that you should only come here if you have kids or a kid's heart and want to play games, which we did after dinner. If you are just looking for a place to eat, you can do better than here. -

The machines are old so your kids will not see a point on playing prehistoric video games. The bartender service is horrendous , super rude and lack of entertainment skills which is a must in the industry . For a cheaper price if you are willing to commute I will highly recommend Boomers by I-95 where you can play miniature golf , go carts, F1 , rollercoaster ,bowling and staff is family friendly. And wait the food is really cheap as opposed to " Dave and Busters". Don't waste your time and hard earned money in this one at dolphin mall. As for the rest I have yet to visit so it would be unfair to give an opinion about the others in the area. Go at your own risk. You have been warned!

Held our Holiday office party here on a Friday for lunch for a group of 65. When I chose this place I was a little nervous due to the low review ratings I saw posted. However, because of the low budget I had to work with, I didn't have too many choices, and I was looking for a lunch with a little entertainment. At $17 per, the only other choices were just a lunch but our group always expects a little more (the last couple of years we've done bowling which is a lot of fun).
We were put into the Midway room (has a video screen and a podium with a microphone too), which was very comfortable, nicely decorated with low lighting (which I love). The marquee at the entrance even had our company name (they just did that on their own, which gave them a huge review point).
The food was stellar! Everyone commented on how delicious it was. Get this: Tilapia with some crusty topping with a side of salsa. Rosemary Chicken something or other which was absolutely fingerlickingood! Pasta with a creamy Alfredo sauce; also deelish. Roasted potatoes; very yummy. Salad with shredded cheese, tortilla strips, tomatoes and two yummy dressings (this was a buffet so everything was set out individually; the lettuce was field greens which I love). There was an open soda bar (sadly we are not allowed anything alcoholicky), which you could walk up to and they would serve you or they would come around the tables and pour it; quite a selection too). There were also some yummy rolls and butter. There was more than enough food for everyone to get one, two or three servings of everything and there was plenty leftover (but you can't take it).
We brought our own deserts because our budget didn't allow us to get theirs; but they knew that and had a table set up with plates and utensils.
I was very impressed. Our group had a great time (the $17 per person also included a $10 game card) and a great meal. Everything was perfect! I highly recommend this place for group parties. And I am VERY critical.
Did I mention that there were 4 servers to attend to our needs even though this was a buffet?
Way to go D&B!
I'd also like to point out that Evelyn, the party coordinator for D&B that worked with me to set this up, was fantastic!Listed in: Burger Places

This is one of my all time favorite places to go. This location is not quite as fun as the Milpitas, CA location but its cool. It has a lot of great games (i love my tickets), but the prize center is kinda wack. The food and drinks are still good though. Overall Still A Great Place To Hangout.

Dave & Buster is always lots of fun. There are so many games to play here. I like shooting hoops against my bf, racing, and shooting pool (even though I suck). $3 for unlimited cokes. Just remember to keep your eye on it so you can take it back for a refill. There were several parties here tonight.

I've had some good times at Dave & Busters. It's nice to get out of a late night movie and head over there for some drinks and to shoot a little pool. They have pretty reasonable prices on drinks and the food isn't half bad either. They have good deals when you buy a certain food package deal then you get a game card included in the price. I'm particularly fond of their banana fosters pie....its de-li-cious!

Games are exciting to play but buying any consumables be ready to pay. Anything food or alcohol will charge an extra 16% per check for gratutity. It's apparently a Miami-Dade county ordinance enacted so no one discriminates against tipping based on race, gender, etc. But if you don't see it, you won't know.
