The first time I went here, I scratched my head and thought "Why is this place still around?!" It's dark, dank, and kinda scary. Dapper Dan's is a hole in the wall, greasy-ish ultra dive bar. It's the grandfather of dive bars... An old, scary, nicotine-encrusted grandfather.
But it's got its charm.
Why go down the street to one of the hip new bars, when you can snag a Schlitz for less than two bucks? Or a quick, cheap meal when you're low on cash. This place serves its purpose to provide a community and entertainment for the working-class crowd that still exists downtown.
