The food was decent, but it wasn't anything to write home about.
I had the spicy chicken salad. My dining companion had the chicken strips/salad/pita/fries kids combo. The tzatziki was a strange consistency anf the pita was "meh". The chicken was a bit dry. Mediocre all around,
The employees here were really nice. I left my scarf here and they kept it for me.
Food is decent. It's nice when I want to change up the usual salads I have for lunch. Except, when I come here I usually get the Fiery Feta Chicken Salad. Yum. I've tried a few of the entrees...nothing great or exceptional. The gyros are decent, but borderlines on the kind of bland and not so great side. If you want a great gyro, try Rainbow Pizza. Come here if you want to change up the usual Wholefoods lunch trend. (Since a bunch of people go to Wholefoods for lunch around here :) )
I like Daphnes. My sister was married to a greek so I have a point of reference for Greek food and its certainly not the most authentic but I think its still pretty good and absolutely much better than your typical "fast food". I think the food is a good value for the price and in my experience its been consistent and tasty.

STINGY CAFE
I just got my lunch from here this afternoon.. Although the taste was good, quantity is a problem... I ordered chicken kebob lunch for which I paid abt $8 and I got just one skewer with three tiny pieces of chicken, 4 small pieces of pita bread, rice and a salad... I thought that $8 could fetch you a lot more food than that...
May not revisit!!!
I first found this place on a Whole Foods run during my lunch hour at work. Now that I've changed jobs and work next door, it's convenient, quick and fulfills my gyro craving.
Overall, food is so-so. Prompt service, clean facilities. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
I love this place, fast, affordable, quality food. On a good day, I love their chicken salad, it's hearty and filling. On a not so good day, their gyro and fries is calling my name. It's nice they bring out your food and clean up afterwards, try to leave a buck or two. This is our favorite pre-musical show dining joint, since we often leave EA in Redwood Shores than drive straight to the venue in SF. I just discovered they have one in Sunnyvale, for us South Bay folks, Holla!
I'm a nut for kabobs so this is a nice place to go for a quick fix. Their kabob plate is pretty good, as it comes from rice, greek salad and some pita bread. Mmmmm...pita bread. It's pretty good here. I've also tried their quarter chicken meal and I thought the chicken was OK.
The price is a bit on the high side for my liking, but all in all, it's not too bad.

I'm so glad to have a Daphne's nearby, I'm a gyro fiend, and this isn't the tastiest, but it's pretty inexpensive, and the fries are tasty steak fries. I will do all I can to keep them in business : )
I'm sorry, but I love this place. Maybe it's not "authentic" enough, maybe some things are a little greasy, maybe it's a chain, maybe it's a little fast food-y, but it is DAMN tasty.

Two words....
Feta Fries......OMG OMG OMG....
I came here last night after a long workout at Gold's. I know..i know... what a waste of a workout..but then again..i finally got to sample their Feta Fries!!!! Who's the smart one now......haha
Pita Bread is sooo freaking good. I'm Not Greek, but if i were, I'd want my Pita to be just as soft as theirs. Calamari..was soooo delicious! Once again you criticize...Calamari at a Greek restaurant??? Minus one star for not being crispy. But still, i pronounce this a winner!!! I definitely have to go back to gold's so i can find a sorry excuse to walk my way over to Daphne's...

So I didn't know about this chain. I was very impressed. I was expecting a sort of bland tasting mediterranean food. Sort of like the ones on University Ave in Palo Alto. But no this place was actually decent. It was fast food but I didn't feel sick afterwards so how can I complain. There were probably 15 of us there so fit all of us and serve us in that time was scary, but impressive. Pretty good. Not dry at all :)
The food is good and it's healthier then going to the typical fast food place for a quick lunch. It's a perfect location for me, since I'm working on a project directly across the street from it. Although that does nothing for anyone else reading this.

Perfect light Summer eats at Daphne's. I never like to do any kind of grocery shopping while I'm hungry, so before I headed in to Whole Foods at Park Place in Bay Meadows, I stopped by Daphne's and was pleasantly surprised.
I kept it light and ordered the Spanakopitas appetizer plate with Hummus, Fire Feta and Tzatziki dips. I'm not into the yogurt dips, but the Hummus was refreshing and flavorful and the Fire Feta had tasty KICK! The accompanying warm pita bread was the perfect complement - not too "bready." It would've been nice to have it in whole grain, too... But, I wasn't going for the health factor today!
While the Spanakopita may be "rich" for some, this was certainly one of the best ones I've ever tasted. I don't know anything about what is "authentic" Greek, but this Spanakopita will bring "Greek fast food" to the masses!
They have vegetarian options and pretty hearty kids meals. Exceptionally clean restaurant and I'm told the Daly City branch is pretty impeccable too. I also picked up a menu to-go and it looks like they have some wonderful party trays for catering...
"Daphne was pursued by the God Apollo. When she became frightened, her father rescued her by transforming her into a laurel tree. Apollo then made a wreath from her leaves in memory of her beauty and perfection. This wreath, since called Daphne, is a symbol for excellence."

This is the McDonalds of bad Greek food. I used to live in Greek Town (in Chicago) so I do have some standards... and this is just uber homogenized and bland food passing itself off as something it's not.
Yes, it's a convenient location and they have colorful signs with big pictures of plates - but it's that's about the only thing in this building that is reminiscent of an authentic Greek take out place. The portions are tiny, the food is bland, it's just not good.
Don't bother.
Well,I found the food to be quite tasty.Service was decent.I deducted two stars because the portions were small.I actually lost weight eating here because of all the money I dished out.I may give it another chance ,however.
I'd rather not eat Greek food than eat here again. I would give it no stars, but I have to be fair and give it one star because the owner was so very professional and nice - but the food ... barf.
I was not very impressed with this place. I love greek food and typically eat falafel, tabouleh, hummus, dolmas, and greek salads. Their falafels were not good at all and the hummus wasn't even good (you usually can't go wrong with hummus!). Definitely a fast food joint so if you want to get something quick just to fill you up then this is the place but don't expect anything "yummy".
Came here for lunch. Had the Chicken combo. YUM!!
I was so impressed I came back for dinner and brought Jimmy with me. He hates mediterran food, but I've been trying all kinds of places for him to like try it.. and he won't step into Greek anything. I want him to like Greek food, so that we I can get an okay for a trip to Greece.
So I rave about Daphnes, and he's willing to try. We get a falafel. What is that? I dunno, but it wasnt that good.
I got a spank-yo-pita combo. And he got a gyro and fries. It was okay.. and looking across the table, Jimmy thought it was okay too.
So much okay.. that he said "This fast food greek, nothing like that stuff we saw on the food network."
My eyes twinkle, "So you liked that roasted beef and those spinach pies on the foodnetwork?"
"Yeah, this place is tryng to be like that... but it aint like that."
HmmMm.. "So maybe we should try some REAL GREEK RESTAURANTS?"
"Yeah, lemme try some real ones. Then we can think about going to Greece."
After dinner I just danced my way back to the car. If I had a plate, I definitely would have thrown it on the ground. OOOOPAH!
3 stars for being clean, having okay food, and for changing my bf's mind about Greek food!

Ate here for the 1st time today, 04022007.
I was surprised that the food was actually quite flavorful. I hate the chicken/steak kabobs. The chicken was okay (a little dry), but the stead had a lot of juicy flavor to it. The rice had a good flavor too.
My friend had a gyro, and he said it was pretty good.
I gave it an extra star for being relatively quick at serving food during lunch, cleanliness and there was no problem finding somewhere to sit.

Absolutely wonderful! This place consistently serves your meal fast, fresh and full of flavor. Though the gyro and fries look tempting I've always gotten the chicken salad. Delicious! I'm in love with the olives that they include on the side of my plate. Thier yogurt dip is creamy yet light. Warm pita accompanies every meal! This place is great. The boyfriend gets the half chicken plate and is pleased every time. Daphe's I love you!
Have eaten there three times. Have spent time in the bathroom after eating there two times. No more times!!

Ive been to this place three times now figuring maybe I just need to try something different and I was let down every time. The food wasnt very good, not much flavor, chicken was dry, I never got enough food to fill me up and it costs about 8-9 bucks per meal without a drink.
It was empty when we got there on a Tuesday evening....I love it like that! We walked past Pasta Pomodoro and Shiki sushi, both of which were busy...imagine our surprise when we found just a family of three eating there.
Lady behind the counter was super nice and we got the chicken combo (kabob & gyro meat) and gyro plate. Both come with side salad, tazi sauce, rice, and pita bread.
Anyhow, the gyro meat was moist and looked dry, but tasted fine. Kabob wasn't my thing, but it tasted okay. Subbed rice for french fries, no charge.
I don't know why ppl are hatin on this place except that it's a chain? Anyway, quick and efficient. got to try lunch here one day.
Fast food greek style. Had a lemon chicken dinner that was nicely done with a steak kabab that was over done and burnt a bit. The pita sandwiches are decent, a little bit pricy. This is essentially a Greek Boston Market.
Pretty Good. Food isn't gourmet but it taste good.
The pita bread is hot.
The lemon chicken is pretty good. The plate of food will fill you up and the salad is good. But only one olive? ;-(
I've seen this a few times when I'm at Whole Foods and today decided to try it for lunch. I went with the (yes, boring) #3 lunch combo of Gyros, fries and drink. Very tasty and the fries nice and crisp. I just beat the lunch crowd so my order came very quickly. Must explore the menu on further visits. Give them a try!
Well, OK.. so it's a chain, but hey.. I found the gyros very tasty and great for the price. It's no Sunrise Deli (SF), but it beats the crap out of some of those mom and pop places that pass off week-old hummus and stale pita bread as ingredients for your microwaved gyro.
I ordered up the chicken combo, which has gyro meat, a chicken kabob, rice, greek salad and four triangles of a cut-up pan-seared pita bread.
The chicken kabob was okay, but the gyro was awesome. The bread was very tasty and perfectly pan-seared for the maximum in taste. The salad was good too, and the line was practically streaming out the door at lunchtime.
That said, the flattened falafel balls are tasty, but a bit over-fried for my taste, maybe because for me, the fried-to-non-fried ratio for the falafel was a bit too fried up for even me.
I WILL return!

This is a "fast food " greek restaurant..not a five star so what are u expecting!? Delicious gyros, platters with a sampling of goodies..yeah, a few things aren't that good but like I said..it's fast food, and the prices aren't that bad unless you are dirt poor! And if you can afford the computer and internet service to write reviews on Yelp you ain't doing too bad! lol!

man, I should have listened to Sarah K... it wasn't disgusting, but those fried pitas -- WTF is up with those? I went with a combo plate over a Greek salad and was actually glad because the salad was pretty nasty. why is there only one olive? the feta is questionable-looking as well. Luckily no intestinal problems have resulted... definitely Whole Foods takeout for me next time I'm in this center.
This is the kind of place I could see myself eating at often. Cheap good food. No table service (so cheaper!). And I could sit here for an hour doing a crossword puzzle with the boyfriend without feeling self conscious for taking up space.
The food was good, but not amazing (GBNA). The menu is full of things I'd like to try.
Good, solid Greek fast food. I usually get the gyros plate, which gives you a good portion of meat, along with pita, salad and rice. I often ask for extra salad instead of the rice, and not a problem. It's all pretty tasty.
:(
thick tzaziki(sp) now what the hell was up with that... its got the consistency of sour cream
not really aunthentic
got jipped on the small piece of baklava for a $1,50 or something like taht
:)
I had the Gyro and fries!!! delicious!
lotta parking
didnt have to wait too long
outdoor seating
Good food for the price. I had the veggie combo plate and they substituted extra salad in for the rice pilaf I didn't want. Two dolmas, two pieces of spanakopita, plenty falafel, hummus, and pita... it's a little bit of all my favorite stuff! However, if I want food to go I'll probably grab brown rice sushi from Whole Foods and it's not like the sit-down atmosphere is anything special.
This is a great place to go for quick and easy Mediterranean food. Part of a chain, the meat for their Gyros is sliced nice and thin. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are good. If you're in the mood for something Mediterranean and quick, this place is perfect.
ok, so i didn't expect much when i decided to try this place since most of the reviews said there wasn't much flavor to the entrees here. but unexpectedly, it was a lot better then i thought.
what i got was a light meal, great for lunch. i got the gyros w/rice & Greek salad. i mean the gyros was good, a little light on flavor which made it feel healthy. The rice pilaf did lack flavor and the salad was decent. Yiasso gyros (MY FAV) are much, much better if you're around the Cupertino area!
i would go here again. it's not the best or the worst...but it is good enough to fill any hungry stomach & it beats eating at other unhealthier fast food joints.
This place is wrong. All I have to say is it was OK going down, but coming out was a nightmare.

I had their best beef kabob on the opening day. I knew it was 1st day treat and since then their qulaity has become avg to good. Still better than regular fastfood. I'd give them 3.5 star. The service is usually great and the workers are always smiling (hard to see in any fast food joint ;)). Over all a good place for quick lunches. I do have their kobabs once a week.

Think of it as Baja Fresh for the Feta-shists among us. Daphne's is a new chain of quick-service restaurants focusing on the flavors of Greece, and it's a welcome addition to the humdrum range of pizza, burgers, and Mexican places for a quick meal here in suburbia. You order at a counter (like Baja) and then your food is delivered to your table.
Given the icey rainshowers enveloping the peninsula today, we started with big bowls of avgolemono soup which came with fluffy warm thick pita. Not exactly homemade but decent shreds of chicken, carrot, onion and fresh parsely and the lemon and egg broth with rice was just the ticket. IQ tried the roast half chicken which was fresh and moist with lemony seasoning. I tried a Daphne's combo which was also fresh and zesty, including slivers of lamb gyro meat, a chicken kabob, some seasoned rice, and a small greek salad. I loved everything but the tzatziki sauce, which was sort of pasty and didn't have any real cucumber flavor. Also, the salad should feature olives but I got only one kalamata, tasty though it was. Sandwiched here between a Pasta Pomodoro, a Left Bank, a new Mexican place called Tamales, and Whole Foods, this is a nice little extra stop for those "too tired to cook" nights when you don't want anything fussy.

Astonishingly bad food, even for a fast food chain. I cannot believe people like this shit. Greek is to Daphne's, as Mexican is to Taco Bell. From now on, I will be referring to this place as "Gagme Greek Cafe." I had high hopes for Gagme. I wasn't expected great Greek food. I had already decided that I would be happy with "mediocre" because it was in a convenient location and I am often jonesing for a little flavor of the Mediterranean. I ordered the Veggie Combo. Big mistake. There was exactly one bite of salad, chalky tasting falafel, bland hummus with a weird texture, industrial tasting taziki in a salad dressing container, some triangles of a bread like substance that oddly tasted like pancakes instead of either flat bread or pita, nasty dolmas that were not edible, rice that tasted like Rice a Roni... and it was like $9! It was like a mad scientist's experiment gone wrong. My advice? Turn 180 degrees and hit the Mediterranean salad bar at Whole Foods instead. That is, assuming you want to eat real food that tastes vaguely authentic, and not reconstituted space age nasty knock-off "Greek" food. Gag me with a spoon.
