Category: Greek and Mediterranean [Edit]
Neighborhood: Chula VistaMy boyfriend seems to like this place, but I have a feeling that's just because it's quick. Daphne's serves really bland food. I doubt this place would be able to stand in a city with a sizeable greek or mediterranean population. Their falafel is just...weird, and it doesn't taste like they put any tahini in their hummus at all. It's just kind of...eh.
Tzatziki tastes like is made with ghee. Is good sauce? no.
Gyros is plentiful, but bland, bland and blander. Espices por favor. Sadly the most flavorful thing on my plate was the vinaigrette that graced my salad. The tapanade tasted like it was made of California olives exclusively salt brined. The rice pilaf was okay. My pita hot and soft and easy on the tongue.
I can go to my local Chaldean pizza joint and get a rocking gyros for less.
So, a former San Diego Socker gets a hankering for home cooked food and this is what we get. Either this is a slap in Kakanousanous' mother's face or someone didn't slap her for fixing this white bread flavorless pap. Granny Kakanousanous does not approve.
The store is spotless. The service is excellent for a order and sit type of place. I just need to taste my food. Eat to live seems the order of the day at Daphne's. Leave it to a professional athlete to take joy from the mouths of middle America. You'll still be able to run a 5k after this meal. I'm going to Shaggy's where they live to eat.

--unfortunately my experience was nothing of the sort...eh...

I like this place. Every time I go to our main office for work, I look forward to having lunch with other people that I don't see very often unless we're in training. The employees are super friendly, the food comes out fast and they have yummy fire feta, and on top of that, they have a lunch menu....any place that has a lunch menu gets a thumbs up from me...

I like their food...although it cost about $6 something for a pita is little much, I think...but I will still come back for it...once a while...

I know I seem like I like everybody, but this quick service place is my absolute favorite..The employees here are great, very friendly, and I always get the gyros dinner plate with the rice and salad and pita and I am always pleased!

I enjoy this place. It runs a little more than you would think. But the food is so healthy and tasteful. I am a big fan of their pita bread and the cucumber dip that comes along with it. Never had "authentic" Greek food, but this place only makes me wanna try it out.

I was so happy when I heard Daphne's was coming to the South Bay and I haven't been disappointed (unlike Pick Up Stix). While more expensive than some older Daphne's, the food is really good and the service is also good.
