These people are rip-off artists, more than willing to take advantage of people in an emotional state (funeral). Fortunately for me, in this case I was ordering flowers for someone I don't know, a relative of an employee where I work so, whereas I was sad, I was not overwrought and definitely not ready to be ripped off.
Before I called to order, I spent lots of time carefully perusing their website (which is the same as all the other FTD websites, all the same pictures of all the same arrangements) including the prices. When I tried to place my order for a funeral spray that was listed as $114.95, the woman informed me that their minimum order for a spray was $125.00. I asked her why this one was listed at $114.95, as well as the several others listed at lower prices. She said that's "the generic price." That's what's known as a "non-answer," since she wasn't addressing the fact that the weren't honoring the prices they had posted. This is also called "bait and switch" and is a deceptive business practice that is, I believe, against the law.
I ended the call and looked around on the web until I found Crow Canyon Florist. Same FTD website, so I found the same exact spray AND they charge a lower delivery price, AND they stick with the posted price, AND the woman there was more than happy to have the order at $114.95 AND she went out of her way to assure me that the flowers would be even prettier than the photo on the website. Such a difference! And all it amounts to is that this florist, Crow Canyon Florist, had no intention of trying to rip off their customers.
I'll review them in detail after I've seen the floral arrangement.
future husband got me a dozen roses from them for valentines day and while i was sooo excited and i was so grateful... they OVERCHARGED HIM!! i found the receipt. 100 !#@%$^ dollars for a dozen roses. they are 35 dollars on ftd.com and like 12 bucks at safeway. while i am all for supporting the local business' in my area i am also for not being gouged.
