The food here is truly remarkable, it is some of the best Italian food, period. They also serve steak, etc. that is truly phenomenal. Service is nice, they are a small business in a remote area. Do not expect gourmet service like a 5 star restaurant, but do expect 5 star food.

NOTE: They are quirky about their hours so make sure you call ahead. Mostly open Wednesday through Sunday.

After spending a relaxing afternoon exploring the banks of the river, my boyfriend and I were hungry and ready for dinner. We remembered there was a small Italian food place that we passed on our way up and decided to back track and try it out. I don't think that either of us had high expectations about the joint but were both pleasantly surprised when the sign outside touted house-made chocolates.

Deciding to venture inside we were immediately hit by the sheer coziness of the place (and the display case of the house made chocolates!). The dining room was classic with red leather booths and a fireplace. We were seated next to the window where we could look out and see the river.

Soon we were visited by our waitress who was very nice and very helpful. The menu was plentiful and traditional (which pleased me) and the wine list was local (also pleasing). I opted for a pasta with cream and marinara sauce while my boyfriend ordered the seafood pasta.

My dish was wonderful and the seafood pasta smelled delicious. The cream sauce was rich and the marinara sauce was zesty and not too sweet (unlike many Italian food places). I was impressed. Next time we make the trip (and their will be a next time) I plan on having just marinara sauce.

After dinner, we both had a drink at the bar along with a HUGE chocolate covered strawberry. The owner was a gracious host who chatted with us about the history of the place and was soon bringing out additional chocolates to sample.

This place was fantastic and made me feel like I was with family. I can't wait to go back!
