Dan's Hamburgers
2 reviews for Dan's Hamburgers
You honestly can count on one hand the number of good breakfast spots in Buda. You've got Helen's Casa Alde; but we stopped going after almost every dish came with a side of hair. We tried Cracker Barrell with mixed results over a few visits.
Sometimes, you gotta look where all the cars are in a small town. We noticed and heard thru family members that Dan's was the place. We arrived to a packed dining room and snagged a table in the back "party" room. There is waiter service for breakfast and the staff hovered around making sure the coffee cups never even dipped below 3/4 full.
The biscuits and gravy blew away the Cracker Barrell offerings just a few hundred yards away. All of our entrees were cooked to order making Dan's a welcome addition to the dining scene in Buda. The price was reasonable considering the sausage patties could have doubled as pucks in an NHL game.
Previous visits during lunch hours produce a variety of burgers and chicken fried "insert your animal here". Dan's is now on my radar for some decent fast food with plenty of options!
Not my favorite I must say. The BLT was rockin-awesome! BUT my onion rings had so much grease I couldn't finish them. Seriously, I love love love onion rings. But the grease shouldn't pool on the rings and cause the breading to fall off. And my kids cheeseburger was so greasy it soaked the bun. The curly fries were a hit.
All in all, it was okay. Not great, not horrible.
