First time eating at Danny's and was very happy! Got a double cheeseburger works, crinkle fries, Dixie dog and a corn dog! All excellent. Will be back!! Also very reasonably priced and friendly guys working the counter and grill

I was going by Danny's Drive-in around noon and stopped in for a grilled chicken sandwich with fries to go. I unwrapped my lunch bag after about 20 minutes and enjoyed the sandwich and fries with a pink lemonade drink. The grilled chicken was a bit greasy but tasty. The crinkle cut fries were delicious.

In the mood for a hot dog so dropped by Danny's. Ordered the Carolina Dog, Fries, and soda. First the good - The hot dog was delicious. Fries were just meh! Soda in an eco friendly cup with paper straw was fine. Now the not so good - coat was 12 bucks, portions were not large. Now the bad - tThe place has lots of deferred maintenance. Paving is a wreck. Noise level is off the charts with I-95, RT1 traffic plus construction vehicles building I-95 ramps.

Just checked this place out today. Went in for take out and food was ready in about 10 minutes. There's only about 6 seats to sit inside but there are outside picnic tables. So basically this is a drive in grab and go location. This place is all about the hot dogs, I ordered a burger today but it was blah as compared to their hot dogs. I am excited to try their milkshakes over the summer. Friendly staff and the place is ancient but seems really clean! I'll be back. Warning, the chili for the hot dogs is spicy but we love it!!

I tried the Long Dog and opted for fresh cut onions ONLY. No sauces.
Man ,was I blown away, the bun was toasted to perfection, the dog was cooked just right. Its the hot dog I want at the next cookout!
and a huge plus, I looked through the side window and the kitchen looked super clean and organized. Its a must for me the next time Im driving that way since its right off the exit 33 and I can hop back onto the highway.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kate A.Brooklyn, NY0204May 12, 2022
They just close whatever time they want. I call in an order at 7:30, no one picks up. I figure oh they're just busy and drive over , takes 7 mins, I get there at 7:37 and they've locked their door. When this happens more than once you lose your customer. This has happened more than once. If your hours say your open until 8, don't let people waste their expensive pandemic 5$ gallon gas to a locked door

It is true about them closing whenever they want. Got there at 7:33pm 6/8/22 and they said grill closes at 7:30pm. Highlighted that they close at 8pm. Employee replied: "Sorry grill closes at 7:30pm." My son was pretty bummed. Going to Danny's is the highlight of his summer when he returns from college. He has long loved this place as has his Dad. Its all good though. Had a great dinner at Modern Apizza in New Haven same night. Modern Apizza is still amazing. Reading all these reviews about Danny's going down hill is a bummer. Have been going to Danny's for almost 30 years. It is sad. I hope Danny's can improve and keep the Danny's tradition going.

Stale bread, undercooked fries, frozen not fresh onion rings, frings had 4 onion rings (not enough for the price)... This was my second order and for the prices they charge, they really need to do a lot better. Pet peeve - one size (small) beverages at $2+ . Have to do A LOT better.

Just had the lobster rolls. First as a lobster roll purist I think they should be served cold with mayo. I know plenty of folks and all new yorkers will disagree but the simple fact is that a lobster roll is served on a toasted (grilled) new england style roll cold with mayo. If you serve it any other way that's fine, it's a lobster sandwich. Or maybe it's called something else. I'm not sure what a lobster salad roll is. I think it's a term someone from new jersey made up to describe a lobster roll.
Anyway, as far as warm lobster sandwiches go this was fine. It was $22 so a little on the expensive side for a sandwich and nothing else, but it was a good one even if it was warm.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Nov 15, 2011Previous reviewIf you're into drive-in type food this place is special. Places like this are disappearing, which means that the good ones are thriving. This is a good one for sure. I say go all out and get the triple burger with cheese bacon onions mayo etc. Grab a shake and a pile of fries and tell your Doctor to look the other way. There's something about the food at the good roadside joints that feels better than a warm blanket on a cold night or a cold beer on a hot day. Don't deprive yourself! Grab an old sweatshirt that you don't mind spilling food all over, pick up a good friend who won't judge you and roll into Danny's for big calories, high cholesterol and a huge satisfied smile!

Wow Danny's destroyed itself. This is not the place we have known for over 35 years. The food today was horrible. Hamburger tasteless, also not done the way it was ordered, hot dogs were terrible. Onion rings bland. Fries meh. I assume a new owner with the changes. If you are a new owner , you better learn how it used to be done or you will ruin the reputation of what has been a great place for many years. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Such a shame. All three of my kids worked at Danny's when they were in high school, high school kids made better food.
