Review from Tomas G.
Tustin, CA
This is in response to Gabriel G's (San Francisco) negative review of the service provided by Tammy. While I can't speak to his specific experience, I can tell you that I have been a customer of this establishment for 18 years. I generally frequent Danny K's 3-4 times per week. Accordingly, I am well acquainted with the level of service provided by the wait staff.
Tammy is one of the most dedicated servers in the place. She continually comes around asking if you require anything whatsoever. Her service is top notch in my humble opinion.
Before you think that perhaps she asked that this be written or that we are good buddies, that is not the case. It is simply a statement of fact. It would be unfair to castigate someone over a single incident rather than review their performance over an extended period of time.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Nathan O.
Yorba Linda, CA
I had been going here since Danny K's first opened. In those days I remember you could go and smoke cigars outside.
This place has pool tables that are in excellent condition and has a good variety of beers and cocktails. The food is also very good and filling. I use to go here frequently and I remember playing Trivial Pursuit with a Team of enthusiast once a week on computers (we kicked everyone's butt across the USA.)
The servers were very nice and the bartenders are superb. There was one there who use to work at the Embassy Suite in North County and she knew everything there is to know about ice hockey. By coincidence the Honda Center aka "The Pond" (Home of the "Ducks") is just 3 minutes away. Too bad I'm not an avid hockey fan but she was very knowledgeable.
In the past I have taken many of my friends and family there always having fun. The juke box music over the stereo speakers was great and really added to good vibes.Plenty of TVs everywhere with most all sports events on.
The original owner Danny K., use to be behind the bar sometimes and was just a very nice person. He really made you feel welcome and at home. I would give this place 5 Stars and go here again but one day after retiring from being in law enforcement my fellow partners and I were reminiscing of the good Ole days and how happy we we're to survive and retire. When this Korean Manager 86 us! We could have been real DICKS like he was and (it would have been real ugly for him) but we were not about to physically hurt anyone or go to his level of ignorance and his lack of understanding American Cultural Celebration. Plus we really respected Danny K. very much. I dunno where this guy was coming from but we left and we all left for good never to return including all the people we had brought there in the past.Well at least until he gets fired or replaced. This guy was a REAL ZERO, very bad at customer relations, and needs to assimilate more to America. If this guy is the new buyer that would be a bummer especially if "Danny K's" remains the name of the establishment. It simply would not be the same and that would be a bad thing. -

Los Angeles, CA
Decent pool hall. I kicked my friend's ass and even shot two balls in during one shot...but whose to brag. tee hee
They have a good amount of tables and price was surprisingly decent for two drinks and about an hour play. They equipment was in good shape. Rolled my stick and it wasn't too warped. They had tv's displayed around the room. Glanced up and caught a Hooters comptetion...the chick's talent was doing hula hoop. buahaha
Had a good time. I'd shoot here again.
Parking: It's kind of tucked down a side street across from where the theater and Lazy Dog Cafe are. Small private lot, but available spaces. I went on a Wednesday night though. Might fill up on weekends. Kind of dark.
If you don't want trouble, it won't find you. If you do want trouble, you'll probably have no trouble finding it here. Just my sense. -
Review from Carol A.
Anaheim, CA
I need to go back to get a feel for the crowd this place draws before moving up to a 4 star. But the place itself is a great one to watch a game. There is a huge screen and viewing area, along with a ton of other TVs and seating areas throughout the place. There is even a room off to the side that seemed like a great spot to stake claim on if you have a group of friends. There are pool tables in two areas and the place is large enough to accommodate a lot of people. I didn't order food this time, so that may bump up the rating when I go back.
TIP: I am a solo woman who loves football and I felt very comfortable on my own at this place. It's certainly not fancy, but who needs fancy to watch a game. -

Garden Grove, CA
This is the kind of place you go to when you want to wait for close to an hour to received your food. When you finally do receive your meal its cold.... When you tell the waitresses about it they give you an attitude and you wont see them come to your table unless you flag them down. This place blows!
2 stars due to having pool tables and some really good buffalo wings. -

Danny K's is the best pool hall/sports bar that I have experienced. Prolly 3 dozen pool tables ...all in great shape!!! I even got so motivated I went to @ Triangle Billiards just down the road on Katella, dropped a couple Gs on a McDermott. Damn, I'm in trouble when I get home. Oh well, tis the season to give (to me)!
Tons of screenage for sports distractions, great food and servers.
The place is huge, but Danny has brought a personal touch to the joint that makes you feel welcome. Great viewing of all sports, but especially popular with boxing and UFC bouts.
The joint is a classic .... You will love it!!! -

Orange, CA
Great spot for pool, but 10 bucks to watch UFC is ridiculous When a lot of places now-a-days show the fights for free. They beer selection is alright, they're food may be slightly better than mediocre. The only real reason anyone should go is to play on their nice billiard tables.

Review from Brandon S.
Newport Beach, CA
Part three of my adventure with the CPT from Boston.
We made it here full of food truck grub and piss. Which happens when you're a dude, and finish a couple of A Guinness before hitting the big boys room, and then eat. This place is pretty big, so it took a could minute of pissful walking to find the bathroom. Which was adequate. Ah....now I'm relieved and ready to start round two of football and beer. USA USA USA.
We were lucky in finding an open table. A few seconds after sitting we figured out why this one was still open. It's kinda blocked off from one of the big screens, but Brandon take them as he get them. No biggie really. The server was good at keeping us hydrated, but decided right away that she'd be sassy and try to poke fun at our drinking prowess. it didn't bother me too much, but come one.....you gotta work for that chance to go all Richard on someone you don't know. Like I said earlier she did keep us hydrated, so no harm. The place was big, had the Audio feed pumping and a decent system behind it so you could hear all the sounds of football with no problems. They keep up on the channels and controlled that well, and kept games that were in action on, and immediately took off the ones that weren't. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's most places don't come correct on that. I couldn't tell you if they had a great beer selection as we just stuck with Budweiser. They didn't have PBR which is a foul in my book. But not everyone is as cool as me so I'll give them a break.
Most of the people were pretty chill, except for a few wearing Raiders gear. But that's more or less the way of the world when it comes to those things. I'd surely go back another Sunday. -
Review from Cat H.
I'm not really a pool hall kinda' girl, to be honest. And a local dive bar playing the game doesn't necessarily mean much to me, either. But I bit the bullet and helped my friend celebrate his bday here. The positives of this place are they possess both a bar that serves liquor and food. The service is extremely slow, though. Even with only a few people at the bar, it's a hassle trying to get the bartender's attention unless you approach a waitress at the side of the bar and bam, she appears as if by magic, sensing someone else will get a tip instead of her. There are a ton of pool tables in the back and lots of flat screen tvs playing the game/ fight/ whatever but I prefer a place where you can dance and you can mingle. This just isn't that kind of environment. I'd say this is one of those places where you can go to just chill on a random awkward date or with some friends mid-week but it's definitely a waste of a good weekend.

Review from Jim L.
San Diego, CA
When I worked in this immediate area, I used to come here often to hang out with co-workers and unwind before starting the weekend or catch a quick lunch with my brother.
They offer a full range of foods but I've never gone with anything other than a sandwich of some sort. While the food wasn't bad by any means, there was nothing to rave about IMO. It was a good meal at a decent price and I will leave it at that.
The nice thing about this place is the fact that there are plenty of pool tables, foosball and dartboards to be found to bring out the friendly competitiveness of some highly alpha males. Ok, youre saying to yourself "it's a pool hall, there should be plenty of tables". Well that is true but unlke other pool halls I've been to, the tables here are spaced accordingly so you never get the feeling that you're on top of the table next to you. Also, they have steel darts vs. the machines. I much prefer the flight of a steel dart to the plastics.
Nice selection of beer to choose from and priced reasonably.
This really didn't have a feel of a "neighborhood" bar as it really in a more industrial / office complex area. The majority of the patrons were those just coming off work and trying to get away from the mad grind of work. Overall a good vibe to the place......friendly staff and patrons alike. -

Awesome billiards bar. Went on a Sunday night with friends because it was a holiday the next day. The place was not crowded, pretty relaxed, and the bartender was really nice. Will definitely come back here.

There is an asian waitress by the name Tammy with the worst attitude and doesnt know the first thing about service. It took 15 min to place my order. Waited 10 min for my water. After waiting another 20 minutes for food, we asked if she can check on the order. Her response? "There's a lot of people here." and walked away. 2 thumbs up to the person that hired such a wonderful waitress with great customer service.

Review from Steven N.
I use to come here often to shoot pool because they have plenty of tables. Their tables are nicely maintained and spaced out enough so you can play without bumping into the next table. Nothing worse than being all cramped up while trying to make a tough shot or hitting another man's ball(s) Shooting pool isn't always fun. It can be hazardous at times. Do yourself and your neighbors a favor and shoot responsibly.
The crowd is nice and chill here. A good spot to watch the game and tip a few back. I was coming here each weekend and my pool shooting skillz were getting pretty good. Over the past several years, I've loss interest in shooting pool and those skillz have diminished. Sadly, the only pool skillz I have now is with pocket pool.
I do miss the good times I've had playing pool. It is one of the few times you get to here from a female that the reason she missed the shot was because it is not her job to put the ball in the hole. There is endless fun with this game.Listed in: You hate clubs and fancy…, You won't get a Lemon in…

I LOVE danny K's so I am sad to give it 3 stars.
Its an awesome place ( like everyone else has said, but REALLY ) to watch the sports games, or go with your friends to have a few brewskies and play some pool. Now, I'm not very good at pool, but its still really fun!
The reason why I am giving it 3 stars is because the girls there are not that great with service. Consistently every time I've gone I have had to wait about 30-45minutes before the waitress/waiter ever shows up again to ask me how I'm doing.
Other than that, Danny K's is a really great place to go when you want to just chill and kick back with a few friends. -
Review from stephanie y.
San Francisco, CA
First of all, I would like to say that I normally don't go to pool halls but my friends seem to like it here so I thought I'd give it a try.
The first time I went here was New Years Eve and I guess the owner of the joint was playing in a band that night. Watching old guys play country music was not entertaining at all and apparently it didn't appeal to a lot of people because that place was super empty. So I decided to leave early and partied in downtown Fullerton for the remainder of the night.
The second time, I have to admit I was a little reluctant on coming but I gave it a shot anyways and it was well worth it. I have to say it's definitely one of the biggest non-corporate pool hall's I've ever seen and the ambiance is very relaxing. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to your needs. Can't say too many pleasant things about the food but that's kinda expected at a sports bar. I definitely plan on coming back here again, but minus the country band. I mean....."Come On". Who goes to a pool hall to hear a country band. Hella weird. -
Review from Cathy L.
North Las Vegas, NV
I found this place thru YELP before I left Vegas, in search of things to do when my friend and I made it in Cali. I decided to check the place out since the rating and the reviews were good, I figured I'd give it a shot and so we went.
We got there about 830ish, and the place was not busy at all, there were a few people on the bar and a few shooting pool. We sat down on our own and decided to check out their menu. They alot of bar food to choose from! I decided to try out the zuccini fries and the 12"primavera pizza. And may i say the pizza was the best pizza I have had in a while! it was not too cheesy and not too doughy, and not too dry. The veggies on it were green bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and were not over cooked at all.
The service was mediocre, not the best I've experienced in a bar setting. The waitress was obviously in a rush to get out of there and had someone else to take over our table. The girl that took over was not the fastest, but it's because I think they lacked servers, she was very sweet though.
They had plenty of seating and even around the pool table area. They had these big sized padded stool type chairs and were comfy. They have plenty of pool tables and plenty of beer selection on tap.
One thing I also enjoyed is that they played music there. They had the current hit songs playing, not too loud and no one really bothered anyone and for the most part, friendly. It started to get busy at around 10pm, and the place turned into a sausage fest! lol So if you're single and ready to mingle, this may be a good place for you to hang out.. just sayin!
We will definitely be going back here the next time we happen to be around the neighborhood! -

Ladera Ranch, CA
Standard bar fare here. Appetizers and the like. It's big inside, and a DJ spun an eclectic mix of freestyle and 80's rock remixes. There's about 15 pool tables and a full bar and seating for the restaurant section. Only had a chance to sample appetizers and the food was fine.
I graded it two stars for the crowd. It was a mix of locals, old figure and Angels fans...and this was off season. The element makes it a borderline dive bar and the absence of security seemed odd given the crowd. Servers were friendly and honest so that helped some. -
Review from Omar E.
Chino Hills, CA
I personally think the "hot shot" buffalo wings are the best buffalo wings in orange county! Sooooo good! Service is okay. Not exceptional. Bartenders are awesome, but the servers are hit and miss... Some are in great moods and very helpful, others are dry and hardly comeby your table. Tons of TVs and projection monitors, and I've never not been able to see a game here. In other words, they have almost every sport on at any given time. Also happy they open really early for some big games. 21 and over only. They kicked my lil brother out cause he was 19. He wasn't drinking, but I guess its not a family spot.

I've been going into Danny K's for almost 10 months, and it has truly turned into a home away from home.
I'm a pool player, so I am frequently in there for the tournaments. The tournament director is very friendly and informative. The regulars are super friendly, and if you are looking to learn more about the game, this is the place to go! The other clients, and the staff are welcoming and friendly, and I know you will be satisfied with the service, the great food, and the amenities! (I recommend trying the Monte Cristo, the clam chowder, and the barbecue chicken pizza...they are all delicious, and I'm addicted!)
If you are looking for a nice place to go to watch a sporting event, have a party, play pool, or just have some yummy lunch, or a cocktail, you will love Danny K's! -

Huntington Beach, CA
I really like this place when you are with a group of friends. It is a big place with plenty of pool tables. Lots of good fun, and everything seems clean and well-maintained... this is not a dive bar AT ALL. I only gave this place 4 stars because I wouldn't suggest it as a date place... it just seems to be missing something in the "this joint's jumpin' " category. That's why I said it's great with a group... bring your own party!! Never tried their food, but the drink service is friendly and somewhat timely (if it's busy, order two at time).

Las Vegas, NV
Best pool hall I've been to. Nice atmosphere, plenty of good-quality tables, lots of space between those tables, and reasonable prices. The only reason this place gets docked one star is because the servers were not attentive. After one brought my friend his beer I hinted that I was interested in ordering food but needed time to decide. Don't remember saying I needed 30 minutes but that's how long it took. Check-ups were few and far between from then on.

Danny K's is the perfect place to come to watch sports and play pool. They are hardly ever packed, except for maybe UFC fight nights, but even when there was several sports games showing on a Friday night, we were still able to get a pool table and there were plenty more open. Its a nice, relaxing, comfortable environment to drink and play pool. And they also have tabletop shuffleboard and darts if pool isnt your thing.
The staff is super nice and theres TVs everywhere playing all the games. The food is alright, sometimes its good and sometimes it seems like it was sitting in the back for a while and has been reheated. but other than that, this is the best place to go to relax, play pool, and drink without having to deal with large crowds of people. I would definitely recommend Danny K's. -

this place is pretty big, clean and expect a lot of ppl every night
the tables are of pretty good quality AND clean considering the type of crowd that frequents here.. the food is a bit overpriced for what they are.. but hey, at least they have a decent variety of beer.. the servers are all girls who wear short skirts and low cut tops, all black clothing.. sometimes, they have a bitchy look if they seem like they're having an off night.. otherwise, they're fine.. they have their own lot which is fine, but i wouldn't drive a nice car there though -

What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said in previous reviews?
*The service was really good (despite being a busy Saturday night, our waitress was very attentive).
*We didn't have to wait long to get a reasonably- priced pool table.
*The drinks and food were delicious. Especially the Philly Steak Sandwich.
*It was a good place to go for guys and girls (meaning not too sportsy or male dominated).
*The juke box was AMAZING
What could be wrong? While we were there we noticed QUITE A FEW patrons carrying GUNS. Specifically 9mm. They were definitely not cops. I'm not sure if this is the usual clientele, but we are for sure never taking the chance that it isn't. I'm actually surprised that this wasn't mentioned in any of the reviews. And despite all the good things about Danny K's we're not interested in EVER coming back here again. -

I mainly come here to play darts with some buddies, but there really are a bunch of pool tables that look like they're in great condition.
For those of you looking for a place to throw some steel tip darts, there are two boards in a slightly separated room next to the pool tables. As for soft tip, they have two machines set up.
The service was always good when I went there. The bartender always greeted us as we walked in. The waitresses came by very often to check up on us even though we weren't in plain view. They have lots of beer on tap. Food is mediocre, but does the trick if you have the munchies. -

Unfortunately, I can't give a review of Danny K's from the inside.
We pulled up to Danny K's and the parking lot was packed! As was much of the street in front of the building. We had to park a bit down the street. It was a fight night so that must have brought the crowd in. We walked through the door and see a sign for a $20 cover charge. WHAT???? Are you kidding me? The place was packed and you want to rip people off for $20 bucks a head? $40 for two people to walk through the door? People who were there to spend money on alcohol and pool. Shame on you Danny K's for ripping people off in such a bad economic time. Never in my life have I seen such a ridiculous cover charge at a bar. Maybe next time we can actually go in and check the place out. -

Corona del Mar, CA
Great bar for catching the game.
I used to live in Anaheim, and I was trying hard to find a local watering hole with cool regulars to befriend, and while still falling a little short, Danny K's became my favorite spot.
There were a few times that I met some "interesting" people there- no one I ever was excited to see again, but good entertainment for the night. There were other times where I would sit all by my lonesome and play buzztime trivia- still fine, but I was always so disappointed by the crowd that place attracted.
The place itself is super cool. You can tell it used to be an old industrial warehouse that they re-innovated into a beautiful sports bar. Tons of room, A bunch of pool tables, (they have some sort of league there) probably around 5-6 giant HD projectors and another 35-ish flat screens.
A group of us drove up from Newport Beach yesterday to watch Sunday football, and we all had a great time. (we like to try out new places every week- kind of our thing) It was perfect for us since we all have different teams we root for, AND we play on a fantasy league together so it was great being able to see all the tv's at once.
The staff to me I've always considered very mediocre. The bartenders have never tried to strike up a conversation, the servers aren't amazingly attentive. Never horrible- but nothing to rave about.
They have a great selection of beer on tap, but the food- (especially the breakfast we had yesterday) isn't very good. I do remember having a great chicken sandwich back in the day- on some kind of cheese bread with really good onion rings, but everything else I've tried I haven't been happy with. This is probably one of those places you should ask an employee what they suggest before ordering.
If you're looking for other great sports bars- check out my list!!Listed in: To catch the game!!

Gotta love Danny K's!!! They've got something for everyone. TVs everywhere, lots of pool tables, dart boards - steel and soft - Buzztime trivia which is free and a diverse menu, burgers, ribs, tacos, salads, pizza, pasta...and did I mention BEER!
It's where I go for all the big games! If your team is playing they will find it on the TV for you! For UFC fights the place packs out like it's the Super Bowl. A lot of knowledgeable fans which makes it fun. -

I came here once and I almost drove past it if i wasnt aware of what i was looking for. Although i only stayed for an hour or two, i have to commend Danny K's for all of the space that is readily available. Not to mention the cleanliness of the entire joint. The customer service was great and our waitress was very attentive to everything that was going on. Anytime my beer was near empty, she always came to our table to ask if i needed another glass. Alongside the great service, the beer selection is quite amazing for a joint like this too.

Review from Mikey S.
Once the playoffs hit for any home team like the Angels, Ducks, and especially the Lakers, Danny K's is the place to be. It's as if you're sitting court side at the game with Jack Nicholson without paying a limb and a kidney.
When inside, the crowd gets super emo with love/hate relationships and has extreme trust issues. They chant boos then all of a sudden clap like seals; they scream and giggle like little school girls; they say defense then they cry when things don't go their way. Geez, I can't take this anymore! It's like a rollercoaster ride. One minute they're happy, the next they're cussing and barking up a storm. FML! I feel like Katy Perry's Hot n' Cold song is on a continuous-never-ending-repeat-cycle. But just like any relationship, you brush it off and keep coming back for more because when you're here, it emits an unexplainable good feeling aura.
So throw on your favorite jersey, come have a beer, order some apps, and celebrate your local team with the many fans Danny K's attracts. Cheer with your yays, chant your voodoos, cringe with the crowd, hold hands and say a prayer...your team will definitely pull off a win. -

Danny K's is a pleasant discovery from my friends. We were looking for a bar and billiards that didn't suck balls like our old one. Well, this is it!
Danny K's is a great place to drink and relax. The place is spacious and comfortable. The billiard tables are in decent shape, the tv screens are big, the service is good, and it's a great place to watch the game.
As for the food...I'm not the biggest fan, but I don't expect much from bar food =P -

Pretty cool spot to watch games on tv and have a few drinks with your friends. I've been here a few times now, and each time the bartenders are very friendly and served me fairly quickly. They made sure I always had something to drink; I didn't have to flag a bartender down for another cold one.
It's also a nice pool hall, but I mainly come to watch games. TVs are all over the place. And the food is what you'd typically expect from a bar, and reasonably priced. -
