Daniel Carter Beard Home
1 review for Daniel Carter Beard Home
The home of one of the co-founder of the Boy Scouts of America is now a National Historic Landmark. Located in the Licking-Riverside District of Covington, the house is on a wooded lot along the Ohio River. A bronze statue of Dan and several historical plaques are on the site. The house itself was built in 1821, which makes it one of the oldest buildings in Covington. Beard lived in the house during his childhood and enjoyed exploring the river banks. Because the home is now a private residence, you cannot tour the inside, but as one of only two National Historic Landmarks in Northern Kentucky, it's worth a walk-by.
