My boyfriend and I have taken two sessions (a session consists of 4 weekly classes) and it has been the best idea for our humdrum "date nights." For a couple, it is $65 for an entire month (again, 4 classes) and for a single member, it'd be $35. Now, I have not tried any other classes or studios but I will say that Amanda, our dance instructor, made us want to stay even on our budget. Every month, the studio also provides a dance where you get the chance to mingle with other members, bring your favorite adult beverage, and dance!

I have been to most every dance studio in Spokane from the snobbish to the inept to car salesman tactics to convince you to join for big $$. Dance Street instructors understand how to teach basics to Newbies but also teach the intricacies of those same dances to intermediate and advanced dancers. without making anyone feel silly or embarrassed. Dance Street is what I miss most about Spokane since I left the area!

Do not get married here! May be a great place to dance, but when it comes to weddings the owner was both unreasonable, and downright rude. Once she had our money and the contract she opened up her bag of hidden fees and snobbery. Every person from our party that dealt with her walked away upset, including the photographer, and even the pastor!!! Please do not book your wedding here as you don't want to ruin one of the best days of your life!

About This Business

Specialties

Ballroom, Latin, & Swing dance studio by week. . . Wedding & Reception Facility by weekend - we love working with people and helping them have a great time.

Since 1997 we've been teaching Spokane how to dance through economical group classes and flexible private lessons.  Singles & couples, teens to seniors, beginners to aficionados, all are welcome.

Since 2000 we've been hosting weddings, receptions, & other special events such as class reunions, holiday parties, memorials, & birthdays.  Our brick walls, hardwood floor, candle sconces, and twinkle lights help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that's rather unique.  We take care of all the set up & decorating, but leave the choice of food and beverages up to you.  Someone is on site to facilitate every event.  Perfect for events from 40 - 200 people, we can accommodate up to 225 for cocktail style receptions.  We've accumulated a lot of knowledge and love to share it all, the good, bad, and brilliant.

History

Established in 1997

Our building was built in 1910 as the livery stables for the original Broadview dairy.  It was Fox-Smith sheet metal shop from 1954-1978, a warehouse for the next 20 years, and we remodeled it into the Dance Street Ballroom in 1997.

Meet the Business Owner: Amanda H.

Hi, I'm Amanda.  I've been dancing for almost 20 years (gulp) and teaching for about the last 13.  I love helping people discover the joys of partner-style dancing.  Learning to dance is great exercise for both your body and your brain, and for couples it's a fantastic way to spend some time connecting with each other.  Dancing is a life-long skill that can be enjoyed in so many ways and places, whether you're going to a wedding or holiday party, out for a date-night, to a ski-lodge in the mountains, on a cruise, or just staying home in your own living room.  It's a great way to meet new friends and feel comfortable in new places.

Weddings are a lot of fun and a lot of work - there are so many details to pull together leading up to the big event and on the wedding day itself. . . I love being able to make it all easier for my couples and their families.   I'm not a "wedding planner" per se, but I will give you all the leads and tools to make putting it together easy & enjoyable.
