soooo sad, they're going out of business.  after almost 30 years.  growing up,  my mom bought me all my dance supplies (leotards, tights, shoes) from this store.  ballet, jazz, tap.. yea, i did a looot of dance.  but doesnt mean i'm any good.

so, huge sale.  everything is 25-50% off right now.  after today (halloween), it will be 50-75% off.  until everything is sold out.

so, i got some ballet danskin tights for my costume.  & said good bye to my childhood memories.  i wont be able to take my future daughter here.. so sad..

    ps. they accepted cc.

I grew up going to Dance Rax for various dance and figure skating stuff.  Apparently, they've been around for 27 years.

Dance Rax carries a good selection of dance shoes (all kinds, from tap to ballet to jazz), as well as a good selection of dance clothes and costumes.  It's not a huge store, but the've got all the basics.  I'm sure they can special order the rest, too.

The ladies who work there are very nice and helpful.  It's a down-to-earth place and you'll find that most people who go there know what they want.

The best part is that their prices are cheap.  I haven't done the research personally, but other people have and I've been told that they're one of the cheapest dance supply stores in So Cal.

The worst part is their location.  If you're coming from one direction on Orangethorpe, you're fine because you can make a right turn into the (tiny) parking lot.  But if you're coming from the other direction, good luck!  You've gotta make a u-turn and it's at the same place where everyone's scrambling to get on the 91 freeway.

Obviously the store is popular among local dancers, because they've been around for so long.  I went there today for the first time in over 10 years and the place looks just the same.  After spending just under $30 for a pair of ballet slippers and skating tights today, you can bet I'll be going back next week to stock up on more stuff!
