The Dana Place Inn is located next to the Ellis River at the base of Mount Washington. The Inn was originally built in 1890 and is composed of several different interconnected buildings. The main building houses the check-in desk, the lounge, the dining area, and a number of guest rooms. There are also additional buildings.wings that house other guest rooms and a building which houses an indoor pool. The grounds also contain several walking trails & tennis courts.
The rooms are all decorated in a different style, so don't assume you are going to get something that looks exactly like what is pictured on the site. The inn offers packages which include full breakfast and dinner served in their dining room. I greatly prefered their breakfast over their dinners, which I considered lackluster.
The decor in our room and in other parts of the inn wasn't exactly my style. It could use some upgrades to give it a more cohesive feel. Many of the different elements didn't go together very well.
The inn is owner operated and the staff is very friendly.
The location of the inn is ideal as it is only 5 minutes from the Mt. Washington Auto road, 10 minutes from Storyland, and 15 minutes from North Conway with its shops and restaurants.

What a total DUMP! The staff is very nice, but this hotel is old, dirty and REALLY REALLY COLD! Our room had such a draft that we had to cover the screen door with our bath towels. The pool and hot tub are not very pleasing. I would never never stay there again.
