I'm a big fan of my Damon & Pythias! I love sitting beside the fountain on a sunny day and jamming on my delicious sweet potato fries (with a touch of brown sugar-so addictive!) or curly garlic fries. My actual meal is genrally a turkey sandwich since I just love the fact that you actually get real fresh turkey (like dark meat or white meat - your choice) rather than the thin sliced and overly-processed meat you get most places. Every salad I've ever had here has been good as well and my friend really loved the mojito ribs. Yes, it does run about $15 for a sandwich and side so it may not be an every-day meal for everyone but it is definitely good for a less-expensive weekend treat!

I actually really like Damon and Pythias. Nice little restaurant with high-end sandwiches for just a little under $10. The menu is displayed on a number of high resolution monitors and makes the choices pop out. Another plus is that when I worked at the Commons it was nice to get off of a long shift and grab a beer here with my coworkers.

The choices are many and there's pretty much something for everyone. When they say "Food for the Gods" they may be reaching a little bit, but not bad if you're really in the mood for something a little different for lunch.

And get the garlic fries.... seriously.

Open the door and the intense smell of garlic practically knocks you over. The first time I ordered the delicious garlic curly fries, I was in love. I didn't realize garlic was green (?) but you can see the chunks all over the curly fries. They don't give you enough dipping sauce for the fries so you should just ask for an extra when you are ordering. The "side" can feed two to four people (or, if you are a pig such as I am, you can eat an order in its entirety all on your own!)

They have a lot of interesting sandwiches that you can't find anywhere else. LA Cheesesteak, BBQ Salmon, the New Yorker (also with salmon) to name a few. My favorite sandwich is the BBQ Salmon. It has some kind of a ranchy bbq sauce on it that is so, so good. My mouth always waters as I read the description on the menu while waiting in line!

The only complaint I have about Damon's is that they are very expensive! Their cheaper sandwiches and salads will run you $11. The sides are $5 and up. If you get a side with your sandwich, however, it's only $3. Then you can afford the $2.11 fountain drink! I never get out of here for less than $18. For a "fast" lunch that's a little expensive, but one bite of those garlic curly fries will make you forget all about it.

Still love this place as much as the one in Westwood, only the prices seem to have skyrocketed (maybe it's the surroundings -- we ARE talking about Nick and Jessica's former 'hood!), so one star off for that.  I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.

So, I really love Damon & Pythias...

I'm conflicted about writing this review, because I happened to get sick after the last time I ate here. But that doesn't mean it was D&P's fault. It's just one of those mysteries.

Aside from that -- I've eaten at D&P a few times and always enjoyed it. Sometimes you just want a really excellent salad, and you can get it at D&P. If they ever feature the Strawberries Wild salad again, I highly recommend it -- steak and strawberries and some kind of fancy cheese -- oh my! But on a normal day, their regular salads are quite good too, especially the cobb -- or you can make your own, which is super fun.

Their side dishes and soups are good, and they have tons of different varieties of iced tea -- bonus! The sandwiches are okay.

The board that tells you what the specials are -- pretty lame. Numerous times we've gone to order and found out the board is completely wrong, and worse, the person at the counter usually looks at us like we're dumb for trying to order something that's not available. Irritating.

So yeah... awesome salads, but I'm a bit conflicted about the place, hence the 3 stars.

A little on the pricey side ($15 for lunch), but they have pretty yummy soups, salads, and sandwiches.  The menu is pretty big, and the place is pretty nice.

Yummy!!

Their menu is pretty nifty -- elevated computer screens which have animated options and ever-changing pictures of menu choices are definitely a novelty. Once you order you get a number and you're seated... we got our food pretty quickly but it wasn't very crowded.

I got a chicken sandwich and my hunger was definitely satisfied.

Only three stars because the restaurant isn't really decorated... very spartan. I personally prefer a well-decorated dining area. But hey, if that's your thing, this place is for you.

I like this location better than the one in Westwood for a few reasons. While service at both locations is great, this particular location in Calabasas has nicer outdoor seating.  While Westwood's location has a few tables on the street, in Calabasas, you get to sit outside on some tables covered with umbrellas, right in front of a beatiful fountain.  While it's true that this location is a little snootier, it doesn't matter when you're enjoying your huge Southwest Steak salad (cooked just the way you like it) with HUGE globs of yummy garlic ranch on top w/ a side of even yummier Garlic fries on a beautiful 75 degree afternoon!

What is with the restaurants in Calabasas.  Can we get some decent food out in the wilderness?

Not user friendly and surrounded by wealthy children that need to be supervised.  I love kids don't get me wrong but these ones are completely barren of any and all manners.

The system is the typical order at the register and take a number.  Is it just me or does this seem extremely impersonal?  The salads are OK and the grilled beef that I ordered was way way way way over done.

I really can't think of anything I liked about my experience here except the lovely lady I took who was a total hottie so I gave them an extra star.

What can I say I love the food just can't pronounce the name. This place is just delicious and its a nice place to sit outside and have a relaxing meal. I seem to always get the same thing cause well its really good. I just love the portabella sandwich and it does not disappoint every time I get it either. The food here is your typical sandwich and salad place but  its tasty and well worth driving around the parking lot to find a space. My 1 year old niece loves this place too...well she loves running around the fountain in front so I would say its a win win....adults can sit and eat while kids can be amazed at the fountain.

Great Salads, sandwiches, yummy garlic fries  and one of the best Ranch salad dressings I have ever tasted.  Nice outdoor dinning.
My favorites are the BBQ chicken salad and the club sandwich.  They have three or four different brewed iced teas, which are always great.
Good place to bring the kids. :)
