Review from Denise P.

So from reading my past review you know I'm not the biggest fan of this place. However, my sister Nicole is. Since she hangs out here a lot more than me and it's more her scene, I am combining both are viewpoints to be fair and balanced.
So you have my review below. Since writing that review they now take credit cards everyday and have an ATM on-site so I can no longer bitch about that. The cover is still quite rampant but I think my sister may have changed that for all of us out there who can't see paying a cover on a weekday at a bar that's far from full.
My sister's boyfriend decided to throw her a birthday party here for her 23rd birthday, because they have $1 drafts on Wednesday nights. The two of them sent out bulletins to all their myspace friends, expecting maybe 15-20 people at most to show up. The bar agreed to let Justin's band, Burning Victoria, play and wouldn't charge people coming to see them their usual $7 cover (check them out tonight, august 13th, at Reggie's on 21st and State. I promise no one will steal your car. I used to live down the street and it's nicer over there than it looks)
It ends up my sister's a lot cooler than I giver her credit for (or Burning Victoria is just that good) because they filled that bar up. I don't think this little place in an industrial park in Palos has ever seen that many people walk through its doors. They were so thrilled that the owner personally called my sister a few days later and told her than you because she filled their bar.
Here's my point - do you think that many people would've showed face if they had to pay a cover? I'm sure most would have, but that many more came not only for a birthday but a free show by a band that's big enough to play at Reggie's and Bottom Lounge.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Dave S.
I was here on a Sunday night. It was for my weekly dart match in my Sunday dart league. I had no expectations as I have never even heard of this place before.
It is in a little strip mall and it there were no windows in the place which I thought was rather odd. The place is rather new but it had a very old look to it and when you walked in it almost had a dungeon type of feel to it.. They have a good deal of fliers posted for the metal and punk bands that play there on the weekends and their jukebox is filled with metal, punk and rock music.
The Sunday special is $3 imports and $1.50 domestic drafts. It was a damn good deal. Extra kudos to Kelly our bartender. She was great - super quick, super friendly and just a lot of fun. I want to come back here one of these days to see a band! -

One o' my bands just played out here this past weekend, and i gotta say the place is pretty damned cool. It is WAY the hell out there in the south suburbs, but pretty great in its own right. The location is in a strip mall, but upon entry there's a dark rock bar that stays just this side of dive (it's still brand new). Prompt service by both bartenders and servers, average selection of taps and the normal array of liquor. The juke is full of hard rock and metal, and there are old 'classic' record covers on the walls (Verbal Abuse, Bathory, Dayglow Abortions, Dead Kennedys) as well as old metro punk rock fliers from 'back in the day'....warmed my old heart to see 'em.
The live room is just off the main room. Fair-to-middlin' sound, though all they mic up is the drums. Lots of bar tables to sit at for those so inclined, decent sight lines. A good solid bar to play or attend overall, I would definitely play here again. Great people to deal with. I would be here a lot if it wasn't so exhorbitantly far out of the city. If ya got a taste for metal or punk rock (it's blessedly emo-unfriendly), definitely make the trip once...just use a designated driver. -

So I just drove over an hour to listen to my buddies DJ (house & techno music) at this place and I must say, I HATE suburban bars and punk rock really isn't my scene either. This place was worth it though. It was fun and real without being intimidating.
I came on a Thursday and there wasn't a cover for women at least. Drinks were reasonable. The owner and all of the staff were super-nice. The music playing in the main bar was cool too. When the staff offers to watch your drink while you go outside, then actually does, that's worth some stars.
Plus they were nice to my friends even though they only brought in about 10 people for the night, more than 1/2 of whom did not pay cover. A fun time was had by all. It closes down at 2, which is perfect to beat the traffic going back to the city.
Minus one star for plumbing issue with minor flooding in the ladies' room. -

I came here for a drag show on a Saturday night. Eek! It was pretty rough. They guy/girls were being a little to descriptive and the crowd wasn't going for it. The place is is just an old shack. The regulars seemed to be having fun on their side. So I will not judge on the show. Just the place. It is a hang out full of locals.

my band just played here last night. the jukebox..good. the beer prices good. the location. not so good.
the people there are ok. although the door guy looked at me like i was fibbing for saying I was in the band and actually asked me twice "really, are you in the band?" ..because i'm a girl. are you serious? what year is this and am I in the backwoods or something?
as for the rest of the night and the local bands...someone's mother once said...if you have nothing nice to say, do not say it at all.
ok. i'm done.
