Neighborhood: WallingfordThe staff is knowledgeable, but often rude and unhelpful- it depends on who you get.
Last weekend, for instance, I came in with the name and manufacturer of a particular paint and was intially told it was impossible to find without the numeric code. I offered to look through the paint chips myself until I found it since I knew what it looked like. We kept going back and forth until I started to leave. The salesperson then made a call to get the correct code. I was one of two customers in the store at the time. Meanwhile, there were 4 staff members visible, all of whom were doing....pretty much nothing.
This is my experience there more often than not.
I have also heard other customer's receiving less than curteous treatment.
Still, I would rather get my paint there than Home Depot since it's independently owned.
They have a proprietary paint called...C2 I think. I don't like it. The coverage is terrible!! I have to use 3 coats. I recommend Benjamin Moore for the best colors and best coverage.

I agree completely with Julie W; "The staff is knowledgeable, but often rude and unhelpful- it depends on who you get." An older grumpy gentleman did not seem interested in my wood staining problem, and only provided one possible solution before walking off muttering. A young woman named Sarah listened to me patiently and provided several possible solutions. She went into the back of the store, retrieved some similar new scraps of wood, and actually applied the finishes to the wood to show me how the various options would look. Sarah was patient, polite and very knowledgeable.
As everyone says, great paint store. You can pick up all your painting needs for that DIY weekend. It's in a convenient location and the staff is very helpful. No need for Home Depot when you got Daly's near by.

One of the BEST paint stores. They carry both C2 and Pratt & Lambert paint, which are argueably the best you can buy. The guys/gals behind the counter are both friendly and knowledgeable, and will share all they know with you.
If you hate painting swatches on your walls to find the color of your dreams, Dalys sells C2's very large color swatches -- approx 20"X30". They're about $6/each, but it beats the mess and hassle of numerous pints of trial paint!
Excellent selection of products and plenty of help at this full-service paint shop. They can get seriously busy but I've found myself browsing there and had a fellow customer "help me." I think they are closed Sundays which bugs me...thus one star missing.
