I always have layovers here and this airport is the best IMHO.  (I hate LAX, that place is hell).  So many terminals and a good variety of restaurants and bars.  You can catch us at Pappadeaux's eating steak and shrimp... lolz

The Best Airport in the Centre of the US hands down Dallas has it Down.

On time, low delays, great service, and a Super Cool Tram to get you anywhere.

Just about every international group in the world comes into Dallas.

But if your a business traveler then make sure you have about 90 min in layover to catch you connection on time.

    Always a fly through process.

So many improvements made, most recently the first part of terminal A. Great concessions & conveniences there and in Terminal D. Currently I'm sitting in the old glassed in higher gates in Terminal A where people are shouting "my kingdom for a working power outlet!!" I understand remodeling & big upgrades take time & money - but could the outlet chairs you have just work?
Still one the easiest airports in the US to navigate & always kept clean. That's something.

Offers a variety of flights, but is a pain to navigate in your vehicle, parking is ridiculously expensive (like most airports) and it is very crowded.  It's great when you're looking for budget options, but I personally prefer Love Field.

Bring your running shoes!  Or better yet, roller skates or a skateboard.  You WILL need them.

Of course, if you've connected through this location frequently, you're familiar with its layout and the fact that there is a Skylink (tram) available.  You are cognizant of the fact that you absolutely must use that Skylink if you want to get anywhere, particularly if you're making a tight connection and your airline has suddenly switched departure gates on you.  This is the only way that you'll get to your final destination.

But if you're not a seasoned traveller through DFW, you're somewhat caught off guard.  You'll have no clue that you'll be running a marathon.  This airport is configured like a racetrack - a circular freeway for people on foot.  What's really bizarre is that if you look to one side of you as you're running along the tile floor (there are no escalator walkways that I encountered), you'll notice that one side of the terminal is for the gates; the other side is for restaurants.  I do believe there are more restaurants here than the mall food court.

Heads up as you run, too!  This airport is currently undergoing interior renovations, so your racetrack will be half the width at certain points (and you don't want to run into the plywood that's been put up, either).  And watch out for the motorized cars coming through - they'll actually take up all of your track space, thus interfering with your ability to ever break the land speed record.

Never got a chance to check out any of the amenities, as I got my morning exercise routine in here and there was no time to stop and smell the roses . . . or the coffee, for that matter.

This airport has all the bells and whistles that you'd expect from an airport of this size.
I have always been impressed by how courteous and efficient the staff are and I never have a tough time finding veg-friendly fare to nosh on while I'm in between flights here.
TSA process is one of the fastest that I have experienced in a long time!

The bathrooms can sometimes be a bit funky but that's is really my only gripe here.

Man, do I hate DFW airport.

Whenever I have to go through DFW I make sure to schedule at least an 1.5 hour layover if at all possible, and more often than not, I still find myself sprinting through the seeming 10 miles of terminals/gates, and that includes a ride on the tram to shorten the distance. It also seems like it always takes longer for the plane to taxi and actually take-off than other airports,  and I am including MIA, JFK, ORD and LGA in my comparisons. Seems like going through customs, etc. takes longer here than other international airports as well.

As one of the largest airports in the world, there is a lot ground to cover, literally. Parking can be kind of a bummer, and there is always a ton of construction on the highways around it, so make sure you have time to get to the terminals. Once inside, the lines move generally quickly, and there is a very efficient above-ground rail to get you from terminal to terminal. Shopping and food are about what you'd expect at a big airport.

I got a flight from Houston to here on spirit airlines. Not great, hidden fees everywhere. They suck.

The airport staff is what this is for. I dropped my phone in the E37 baggage claim bathroom and it slid under a locked door of the janitor's area. I'm not kidding. The staff got a janitor from a different terminal to come and unlock the door for me to get my now shattered iPhone. Kai even got me some Purell to sanitize my phone.

He is my own personal Jesus.

Thank you, spirit airlines employees and Kai the janitor. Xoxoxo a heartbroken iPhone owner.

It's hard to rate an airport of this size, since some parts of the airport are better than others, but whatever.

Heads-up, the place is huge. Five terminals me thinks (definitely at least five), lots of turns and roundabouts/turnarounds, so make sure you know not only where your terminal is, but also what part of the terminal you need to get off (or pick someone up from). Because, again, the place is huge.
DFW is a hub for American Airlines, so the best terminal is D, the one with the Hyatt attached to it. But the rest of the airport is fine. Also has a skylink train system that easily gets you from terminal to terminal, which is nice.

If you like to fly Southwest and/or are a frequent traveler who does business stuff, Love Field Airport might be the better place to go. But for the rest of the world, DFW Airport is more than fine. Especially terminal D yo.

This airport is HUGE.  There are about 80 places to go through security, so if one seems full or the wait seems long, just walk down to the next entrance and you should be fine.

    Parking is ample.

If you do express parking, it is pretty legit, they pick up and drop off directly at your car and gate for about $4.00 more a day than regular parking.

I seem to always be here, SFO, JFK, & ORD..... And I know where everything is. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad.

USPS mailbox at Terminal E by SkyLink, near the vending machines!  Major plus because I always have stuff to mail (yes, I know we're in the digital age!!) and I always fly United, which departs/arrives at terminal E

    I wish SFO had a mailbox in-terminal.

OMG what did they do to terminal A????  I was in terminal A this past weekend and it's so insanely nice.  Tons of restaurants - and not just the typical crappy food you get in airports.  It's good stuff!

    In terms of other terminals...
Terminal B: terrible - unrenovated, old, used for the short little flights
Terminal C: decently nice but nothing special
Terminal D: comparable in awesomeness to A - great restaurants, great layout
Terminal E: the only none American Airlines terminal at the airport.  It's in good shape but it's not kept up like the other s are.

Overall, I'm liking DFW now!  It's still an airport, but I was very impressed by the progress they've made.

This is my home airport now. I've been to a lot of large airports, such as Atlanta Hartsfield, JFK, and LAX. This one, in my open, is the largest. Very massive both in and out. When you go beyond the tolls, be very wary of where your gate is or can be. There are at least 5 concourses (A-E) and I've seen American Airlines have 3-4 of them.

Upon arrival, if you haven't printed your ticket for a domestic ticket, for example, I highly recommend that you do so and check in 24 hours prior to your departure. You may be asked by airline employees if you either want to use the machines or stand in line to check in. I highly recommend the former, since this may be the most efficient way to check in while at the airport. To me, it doesn't make sense to stand in line with 20 people that have luggage and then see 3 airport employees checking in folks when there should be 6-7. Use the machines, and then check your luggage!!!

Security tends to move fast, and be ready to be recommended to walk to another security check point if one checkpoint is full of people. This is not a bad move. Yet once past there, be ready to walk, walk, walk to whatever your gate will be. The good thing about DFW is that it does have a Skyway train that you can go from Concourse E to Concourse B or A, for example. Yet some of the signage to find the skyway train can be a bit confusing based on the arrows, so just be patient.

The seating in DFW is cool. I noticed several seating areas that have charging stations for your IOS/Windows devices and laptops, and even some that have a small ottoman to kick your feet up. There are also PC terminals in the hallways just beyond the main terminal seating. I'm so glad that DFW has become like most large airports and have accommodated traveler's needs in this manner.

All and all, DFW is massive, yet not entirely difficult. I haven't tried Love Field to compare, yet I'll continue to return to DFW.

Am I in an airport or a mall? I stopped through DFW in May for a three hour layover. No worries DFW had me covered. There all kinds of new shops and places to eat that you won't even know that you are held up in a airport. Plus they have free WiFi. There is quite a bit of construction going on currently and that is a bit of and eyesore and a nuisance to get around but once it's complete DFW will definitely be one of the nicest airports I've visited.

I would recommend them taking down those glass dividers in some of the terminal gates. It makes the areas look like old smoking lounges.

I really dig this airport. I think it's swank and has awesome architecture. It looks very modern. Keep in mind that I'm from Los Angeles (LAX) and am easily impressed...due to my home airport being dumpy and old.

Food selection was cool. I really enjoyed having Popeyes, Ben & Jerry's, Dunkin Donuts, and Watermelon Sour Belts from the candy shop.

The airport is huge. But that's okay because there's a sky tram and numerous signs to show where you are and where you're headed.

    Until we meet again...

One of my favorite larger airports in general, especially Concourse D (which is a blend I CLT and ATL). Terminal E (Spirit, JetBlue US Airways) is the worst (reminds me of my least favorite airport in the U.S., La Guardia). The terminals are easy to get between via Skylink, despite how expansive the airport is. I usually park at a nearby hotel for $4-7/day using Global Airport Parking, but on my most recent trip parked at the south express lot for $11 a day and was very happy with it. Overall, there are lots of food options and some decent shopping, but, as others have mentioned, far too few comfortable seats, electricity plugs and recharging stations. 3 1/2 stars.

Adding one star for providing the free internet and charging station so I can write a review on Yelp to complain about no free wi fi since I still have 2 more hours to kill due to SFO's weather condition and could not check work emails due to no free wi fi here. I think it's about time I get one of those thingy which you can get wi fi access anywhere you go. That would be something I would buy if someone sets a booth here to sell it.

I have conflicting feelings about the airport so let me lay it out like this...
It's my home airport and I live 10 minutes north of it.
The only thing I don't like is having to pay to go through the airport or drop someone off. That's not the standard in the US for sure.

Otherwise, I like the Express Parking and shuttle, I like the new gates (can't remember which Terminal) and I only do carry-on so I don't have to wait on luggage.

Love the amount of direct flights --DFW makes it easy to commute from here.

I travel internationally and domestically quite a bit (DFW is my native airport) When I used my mobile plane ticket, the workers were not pleased. TSA screening usually takes forever (compared to how fast i usually get through SFO or even LAX) The terminals are located really far apart and the whole airport is just confusing to navigate (esp when my family is trying to pick me up) I've missed flights before b/c airline changed gate TO A DIFFERENT TERMINAL. The international terminal is pretty spacious and has a nice range of shops/restaurants but don't expect anything from domestic terminals...you'd be lucky to find a coffee place in those.

This review is for DFW Airport Valet.

I had used the valet service for the last 5 years.  I fly approximately 2 times per month with my job.  I always keep a stash on one dollar bills in my glove box for valets all over town.

Upon my return from a trip, I would always reach in my glove box for a few dollars to tip the folks at DFW Valet.  Over the last year and a half, there have been 3 occasions where my stash of dollar bills had been taken by an employee of DFW Airport Valet.  The most recent was early Apr 2014.

I have filed complaints, but the problem still occurs.  I highly recommend Freedom Park.  I have used them on my last 3 trips.

Let me start off by saying that I live in Tampa and am spoiled by one of the best airports in the US.  Also, I have only been to DFW once and it was for a layover.  I can say that there was nothing awful about it: no one was rude, it was clean, it was easy to navigate, they have a good food and shopping selections.  Now, it is very spread out and if you are not paying attention, you could get lost.  Also, it appeared to be under construction, but there were a lot of stretches of just plain corridors with nothing.    It's and airport, at the end of the day I would not change my flight of this were my connection point (and there are airports out there that have that effect on me).  They have a website, which with the size and construction, I suggest you use.  They have a nice selection of food and shopping.

The good: some of the terminals have been redone and are very spacious and clean. Security is extremely efficient.

The bad: The old terminals (especially where Delta, Alaska and Jet Blue are located) are dingy. Switching gates can be a process, granted there's a rail, it shouldn't take as long as it does. Car rentals are located off property and add time.

One of the worst airports in the world. DWF is not a passenger friendly airport. The internal layout is only positive element to the passenger because it is retail space.

I travel through Europe, Asia, and N. America. I average about 170K miles flying each year, so I think I have a better than average experience with airports around the world.

    - overall layout is inconvenient for passengers. The terminals are too far apart and passengers outside of security are required to take a bus for individual terminals.

    - DART is not link to the airport, so passengers are required to haul their luggage off a train then search for the correct terminal bus. Moreover, the DART bus drops passengers off at the far end of the pass through.

    - Rental car facility is 10-7 minute bus ride from baggage claim. The bus frequency is inconsistent.

    - Rental car bus drops off at the far end of tr arrivals area. Passengers are required to walk back towards the terminal, through the baggage claim area, then take escalators to departure area. Why wouldn't the bus just drop passengers off at the departure area like most modern & civilized airports?

    - TSA, not much to say. We've all had our experience . However, I noticed DFW has a larger proportion of fat social rejects working for TSA.

On 1/3/14, my AA flight arrived late into DFW due to a delay from AA Fresno.  I made it to the gate to my connecting AA DC flight 5 minutes after it's original departure time and the AA DC flight had already left and not waited.

#AmericanAirlines does not wait for their passengers from their own delayed flights.

There were no more flights into DC at night so they gave me a hotel voucher and a dinner/breakfast voucher.  Since I had a late flight, majority of the eating places are closed so can't even use the AA voucher for a decent eating place. #AA #AmericanAirlines

    God bless this airport.

    Here's why:

The place smells like a BBQ.

To get from one gate to another you have to take a shuttle, even if it's same airline. They are so disorganized!

The aforementioned wastes so much time that it is impossible to even grab a bite during a layover.

Refer to my first point: now you're starving and can't get food.

As a huge layover airport it is not conveniently spaced at all.

    It's a rush and a hassle.

Sorry for the 3 star review but I really can't find anything to thumbs up about it!

I am not a big fan of this airport. I've flown in and out of this airport at least 10 times now and each time I have gotten lost. This place is very confusing to get around unlike Dallas Lovefield (DAL) airport. When flying/arriving in DAL it usually takes me no more than 20 mins to get off the plane and get to the car. My average time for DFW airport is at least an hour. The North and South parking is not worth the savings - the bus makes frequent stops and the wait time is much longer than most people expect. I've actually missed flights because of this. Lesson: Pay the extra money and pay for parking up close. This is the only airport I've had consistently bad experiences with. Unfortunately, because this is an international airport, leaving from this airport is inevitable. Just be warned that you ought to allocate extra time (hours) coming or leaving from this place. =(

I love this airport! I have always been used to having a connecting flight from Houston, but my husband both agreed that this has been a nicer change from the crazy Houston airport! I find the airport has larger, brighter signage and a lot less transport carts nearly running over me, etc. Today may just be our lucky day at this airport, but considering it is Friday, it is not as bad as I have seen other major airports on a Fri night. It is lovely to see so many docking/charging stations for laptop/phones. I may revisit this review on the connection for our return flight. So far, so good!

Just like everything else in Texas....if you think you are large..compare yourself to Texas.  Plenty of superior food options here and the airport seems very efficient. I have never had to go through the security process here (only connected) so I can't comment on that. However, if you are in a different terminal you will need to take the tram.  This could be a challenge if you have a tight schedule between flights.

DFW is hands down my favorite airport in the entire world.  Back when I still lived in the US, I used to pay extra to connect through DFW (kind of like I used to pay extra to not have to go through ORD).

I have been traveling through DFW for many years and even at some points have called this my home airport.  But that is not where my love for DFW began actually...

About four years ago I was traveling to Hawaii when I was horribly bit by a spider that made me very ill for a few days.  Staying in Hawaii was unbearable for me, so I paid $500 to rebook my flight immediately so I could leave and get home to Ohio.  This put my connection through DFW instead of LAX.

I arrived at DFW feeling deathly ill.  My hearing was gone and I had a temperature that had to be around 103F.  I arrived in the evening and was forced to sleep there overnight until I could catch my connecting flight to DAY the next morning.

I had picked a bench to sleep on and attempted to curl up in pain and try to sleep even though I wasn't sure I'd hear my alarm go off the next morning for my flight.  Once I had done this, a worker at a bar right next to where I was came over to me and offered me some water or food...on her.  I was so shocked and surprised and explained what had happened.  She felt so bad for me that she decided to come into work an hour early just to check on me and make sure I was awake for my flight (since my hearing was gone).  And she did just that.

This was only the start of my love affair with DFW.  I continuously have impeccable service here.  The people are friendly, welcoming, and make you want to reroute your flight to have Dallas as your final destination and not just a connecting one.

The food options are endless and they used to offer Sephora vending machines (I didn't see them the last time I was there, but they may be hiding somewhere!)  The SkyLink is fast and super clean.  And the rest of the airport is cleaner than clean.

The airport is huge and can be a bit intimidating at first.  But don't be freaked out by it.  The security lines tend to be short and efficient and the customs lines are always manageable!

I just love this place.  And in my book, unless they don't allow me to travel through there for some reason, they can do no wrong.

This is one of the main hubs for American Airlines so it is to be expected to be large big. But man, was I shocked when I got here!  Taking the tram around all the different terminals can take close to 30 minutes to go one round!  That's right, half an hour of your precious life wasted going around an airport that you would never get back.

Now I do like how the baggage claim is right across the hall from the terminal you arrive from. Too bad most people only come here to transfer and move on to another, more enjoyable locale.

The rental car complex at the airport gets a D grade. You have to schlep your luggage to a busted ghetto ass bus, that's right, a dreaming bus! Just to get to the terminal for all rental cars. Couldn't they have made a stop on the tram for that?  On top of that, the bus doesn't come around that frequently and with the passenger volume, you might have to wait for the next bus cause you won't fit the 1st time around. Hello!  It's 2013!!  Get with the program.

If it wasn't for work, I would avoid this airport like the plague. They sure like everything big in Texas.
