I went here during the Big Apple BBQ because I worried that the good pitmasters at Dinosaur and Rack and Soul wouldn't be in their restaurants. The food, while tasty, is obviously not as good or as authentic as those places. In fact, everything I had is a somewhat lesser imitation of food at other places. I ordered the onion appetizer, which is good, but not as good as the Blooming Onion at an Outback. I ordered baby back ribs, which are good, but not as good as the other joints above.

So why come to this place?  Its cheaper, the portions are humungous, and that inlcudes the alcohol. You can get huge portion's of Beer or Margaritas. In short, tons of tasty food and drink at very good prices.

I've ordered in once and had delivery once. The service isn't exceptional, but the pulled pork sandwich is SO good.

Did we eat at the same place, 1st reviewer? Because, honestly, this place -- despite the ridiculously long wait of people outside -- was not all that.

The staff isn't terribly attentive, but it seemed to me that the place was understaffed. Huge number of clients and just barely enough people to cover it? On a Friday night? Shameful. A group of us (with a couple of kids) went tonight and were surprised by the following:

-- They had no mac and cheese. Umm.... WTF? Every other place has mac and cheese. That's DISGRACEFUL! What respectable BBQ establishment omits that!?! GAWD.
-- The drink selections are woefully inadequate. Is it a margarita or a... margarita?! Let me see.... NO. My BF's daughter asked for something simple, fruit punch. Do they have it? Of course not. But they have pineapple juice. C'mon.
-- This has to be the ONLY BBQ's that has TOSTONES on the menu. That is cool in one way and slightly disturbing in another.
-- Lastly, they have no dessert. Let's think about this a moment (forgive the references I'm about to make): black folks just finished eating chicken, ribs, whatever... you know they want something sweet... that's just so disappointing! Ice cream, is that too much to ask? People are really going to order vanilla or chocolate ice cream ANYWAY.

Well, I got the chicken. Really simple. But it was huge portions that were bland, no seasoning. The BBQ sauce, admittedly is good. The crab cakes aren't bad either, but they could have not fried it so hard. The cornbread was okay.

All in all, it was blah. Note that they automatically add gratuity after 8:30pm for groups of 5 people or more.

This place gave me a margarita the size of my face and a burger the size of my torso.

Wonderful margaritas (on the rocks, with salt). And amazing barbecue. I got the chicken and ribs combo -- my first time ever eating ribs (and I ate them with my fingers!). Both were excellent. The baked potato wasn't overdone, and the cornbread was also tasty. My only complaint: No honey for the cornbread.
