Q:
I've never had Indian food before, it looks good but I can't eat spicy due to my stomach issues is there anything on the menu that wouldn't be particularly spicy or Kiki I'm not sure if Indian food is spicy I think so?
A:
Hello: We like to say that Indian food is flavorful than spicy. There is a bank of spices used but we have developed most of our recipes to accomodate a global spice… more

Sadly this restaurant has closed for good
2019 Covid pandemic has taken a toll on many in the restaurant business unfortunately.
Enjoyed many delicious meals here when we first arrived in Illinois. Will be remembered always.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 18, 2015Previous reviewI chose their kofta in red sauce, regular naan , dal makhni, and veg samosa. The kofta and dal were good. The veg samosa was refried and I am not a fan of refried samosa as it takes away from the original yummy taste. In all a satisfying meal. Very friendly and smiling service. Will definitely visit again!
Nov 16, 2015Previous reviewYesterday had their Diwali special thali, it was delicious and lot of variety! Today I'm back for their regular fare!

Very good concept on platter and you have other choices as well..
We always wait for monthly specials and they are worth the wait.
Happy to go there multiple times in a week!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Shika R.San Jose, CA10483408Nov 14, 2017
Went to this place with friends for gol gappe. We ordered -
-Kachori chaat - okay but it had hot yoghurt
- Gol gappe - only 10% authentic taste. Water n chutneys were bad
- Vada paav - good but less spicy
- Papdi chaat - I hated the hot yoghurt as I'm from Delhi.
- Taj mahal beer n thumbs up
I think ill specify next time if I go, to put cold yoghurt in my dish bcoz I hated warm/ hot yoghurt. Also the tamarind chutney was way below average in taste, they added cucumbers in mint chutney which was different n refreshing.
Ambience was rustic, rajasthani but very cramped n dingy setting. It was difficult for servers to move between tables so be ready to stand up every time.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Aug 1, 2017
In our new neighborhood, we're still trying to figure out all of our go-to spots: Chinese, pizza, Indian, etc. We don't eat Indian food terribly often but when we do, the craving is fierce and must be satisfied. The other night we had one such hankering for Indian, and my husband happened upon Dalicious. I figured it couldn't hurt to try.
We walked into a bright, clean, welcoming little restaurant with a cheery, smiling woman to greet us. She seemed genuinely happy we'd chosen her establishment and explained the restaurant, how to order, and what everything meant. When I still couldn't decide, she brought out samples of every sauce they have for us to try them out. They were all sooo good and it was tough to choose, but eventually I got the lamb with the brown sauce, a lamb samosa, black lentils, and I can't remember what else, but it was DELICIOUS. As other reviewers have noted, the portions are not huge, but you get so much food that I was definitely stuffed. Also at other Indian restaurants, you have so many leftovers that it's kind of a waste, so I was ok with this. I also got a whole wheat naan and a garlic butter naan. A little crispier than I'm used to, but still delicious. We also got a side of the tandoori chicken because I'm a sucker for tandoori chicken and OMG - even if I'd hated my entire whole meal, i would return over and over for that tandoori chicken. Delicious, perfectly seasoned morsels of tender meat, this was the highlight of my meal. Husband and I both also got a mango lassi to complete our meal and it was refreshing and sweet without being a sugary mess.
All in all, an amazing experience at Dalicious! I can't wait to go back and try more.Helpful 13Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - 27141259Aug 15, 2015
Loved the food here..they are vegan friendly which is an awesome thing considering this is an indian restaurant.
Nice ambience, clean place, and fresh ingredients. You can tell it's quality food.
Wish we have more such spots especially in chicago downtown.
Things we liked :
Vegan Kofta, rotis, pav bhaji, and do try their lemon ginger juice.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Varun S.Perth, Australia152181396Feb 19, 2017
Delicious! Delicious! Delicious.
Went here seeing all the great reviews and was truly impressed. This is a Chipotle like Indian food option. You select your protein, dal, samosa, spice level etc and they would put all that in a Thali for you. Quantity is pretty generous for one person. The best part is you can control your meal. Like spice level, Vegetarian/non vegetarian, curry flavor etc.
Along with these regular combo meals, you have things like chole bathura, Dabeli etc that can be ordered directly.
The place is well decorated with Rural Gujrati (Indian western State) drawings which makes the decor pretty cool.
All in all a Clean, Economical, Well Serviced, Delicious food serving joint.

The name of this place says it all! and a nice spin on Indian food. You get to pick your protein (Chicken, lamb, paneer), pick your sauce, (Brown, creamy, red, one more ), then you get to pick you samosa(chicken/ veg) and the lentils(dal makhni / yellow dal) and you can choose naan, garlic naan, kulcha.
If you dont know what each sauces taste like they give you a sample with chips and you can try them out, i tried it twice just so i can have some more of their sauces. All their sauces tasted good, but i went with the brown and chicken option and my wife got the red with all veg options. Other than the above they also have Chaat / snacks like bhel puri, pani puri, masala tea, etc. The food was excellent the service was great and all the people who work their are very warm and welcoming. Love this place and will be there again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Divya C.Seattle, WA2297546Dec 22, 2019
We were the only customers at this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered Pav Bhaji, vada pav, paneer tikka and veg biryani. The Pav Bhaji was pretty good, but the rest of the food was not authentic or tasty. The paneer tikka was not marinated in spices properly and was absolutely bland and tasted stale. The veg biryani was very disappointing too. I literally couldn't eat more than a bite of it. When I talked to the restaurant management about this, they were respectful and offered me a refund.
Besides the nice people who work here, there is little else this restaurant has going for it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rahul S.Naperville, IL229Apr 21, 2019
I would describe this place as a Punjabi cafe.
We used to live by this place a few years back. Anyways, you have a few options of what to try.
You can choose the type of dishes you want.
You have a choice of bread (naan, roti, etc). You have a choice of an appetizer, and the main meal.
I usually like the samosa for the appetizer and the dal makhni for the main meal. The wife likes the mutter paneer, which I'm sure is good.
Now this food tastes yummy, so I assume there a lot of calories. Thus, we only go here occasionally.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
