Here's why I love Daisy Mint:

- Interesting, bold flavors: The sauces they use have clean, decisive flavors. While there is a cohesive style to the cooking at this restaurant, you will be able to taste all the tart, pungent, smokey, spciy, sweet and creamy flavors. The curries are all different. If you love curry, there's a good chance that you will find one that suits you. Their noodle dishes are executed well, each with its own distinctive flavor. The Daisy Mint approach to fusion Thai food is fresh and playful.

- Cute, funky restaurant decor: The walls are interesting to stare at after you've placed your order and, perhaps, you've run out of things to say to your date. Funky frames with random beetles and vintage Chinese advertising posters could spark a conversation or two. For those of you with young children, talking about the beetles and butterflies will buy you a good ten to fifteen minutes before they feel a need to squirm.

- Not your usual tea menu: When I first ordered tea at Daisy Mint I thought of  Kirsten Dunst ,as Marie Antoinette, squealing with delight  to her brother Joseph about the blossoming tea that the Emperor of China had sent her. Daisy Mint has a lovely Asian tea menu, complete with blossoming teas. You can also find flavorful non-flowering teas as well.

- BYOB: No liquor license means no corkage. So bring what you want to drink. You're not limited by a restaurant wine list and you're not paying restaurant prices for beer or wine. Score!

- Price is right: C'mon down! It's not cheap, but certainly affordable. If you can make it there for the lunch menu pricing, even better! You can expect to be well fed for $15 to $20 per person at dinner.

- Friendly owner and staff: OK, as often as we go, you would expect them to know who we are, right? Still, the owners and the staff go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. The waitstaff has been consistent. It's generally the sign of a good restaurant when the waistaff is loyal.

My favorite dishes:
- Chicken Satay: Pedestrian, you say. Well, they really know how to grill chicken on a skewer. If you have young kids, this will be a favorite for them. Tender and juicy chicken with a side of light and silky peanut sauce. It also comes with a small side of zesty cucumber onion pickle that is delish!
- Pad See Ew: The broad, flat noodles are cooked to the right consistency, chewy but not soggy. Add egg, smokey black bean sauce, Chinese broccoli and you're in noodle nirvana! My choice if (non) meat is tofu, but the owner recommends beef. You can't go wrong with either.
- Honey Pork: The juicy slices of the well marinated pork are perfectly complemented by the lighter tart flavors of the green apple salsa.
- Green Jungle Curry: I've become addicted to curry because of this dish. It's sweeter than most curries, but that is how I like it. The flavors of the vegetables bathing in the green coconutty creaminess come alive. Eggplant, red pepper and greenbeans, oh my! Again, I get it with tofu as the (non) meat option. This curry is also excellent with shrimp.
- Daisy Salmon: The creamy cilantro sauce is what makes this perfectly broiled salmon dish.
- Dessert: Right now they have a fun pumpkin custard as their fall dessert. The custard is baked into a Japanese pumkin. When you order this dessert, you get a slice of the pumpkin with the malty coffee custard baked into the center. Yum. (Note: seasonal dish)
- Chef's Special Dishes: Check the specials on the board or ask the waitstaff.

My family and I have been dining at Daisy Mint shorty after they opened in 2007. We've become regulars there, and I mean regular. I have been known to go 3 times with friends and family and order lunch for an office meeting all in the same week. Now that's love.

Go. Enjoy. Don't forget to call for reservations on weekend nights unless you enjoy waiting outside and craning your neck to see what everyone inside is eating.

How dare you Daisy Mint!  A 12 pm opening time on a Sunday.  You made me wait in my car daydreaming of good eats.

You certainly didn't disappoint.  Your interior is so modern and warm  It was a joy waiting for my food looking at all the trinkets surrounding me.

http://www.yelp.com/bi...

The whole lunch experience was great.  I had the yellow curry chicken with a Thai Iced tea to drink.

http://www.yelp.com/bi...

The curry was nice and thick, the chicken was delicious, and the potatoes and carrots were cooked perfectly.  It all went down nicely with the tea.  All this food for about 10 bucks.  Thanks Jackie G.  for suggesting this culinary bombshell.  As in all good things, it was worth the wait.

Final Decision: Not bad Thai restaurant truly a fusion.

So I've seen this spot featured on a few weekly yelp emails and had to give it a try.  Looking at the reviews this place was obviously a thai spot, but have been advertised as a fusion spot.  There was no online site that featured a menu so there wasn't anything to observe till you get there.  When you get to the spot, its a smooth small quaint little place, decorated with unique artwork and funky lighting.

Food Ordered:
Crab Wonton - a basic crab rangoon which is filled with some crab meat  and cream cheese.  I like it, pretty tasty.

Green Jungle Curry - comes with some string beans and sweet potato.  It seems to be a little more on the sweet side though, but pretty creamy with a lot of coconut milk infused into the curry.

Panag Curry - pretty well rounded flavored curry. Very smooth.  Heavy hints of coconut milk.

This was a pretty reasonably priced restaurant.  NO fusion here though they try to advertise some dishes from other cultures.  I wouldn't mind coming back and trying other dishes on the menu.

Do not set foot into this place. I was expecting a nice cozy afternoon lunch, but turned out be the greatest disappointment. Other than the decor pretty much everything was boring and lackluster. The moment i walk in, the waitress lets me know that all curries are not vegetarian since they have fish sauce. I said OK. I ordered the egg rolls which had no flavor and were mainly filled with the glass noodles and served with the swett chilli sauce. It had crunch, and much of nothing else. Then i ordered the Daisy noodles, which was Noodles in a red curry sauce with a side of salad and topped with peanuts.

She looked very annoyed and told me again that it was not vegetarian and had fish sauce. I told her again that it's OK. She said she just ASSUMED that i was a vegetarian. How dare she make judgements about what i want to eat before ever asking if i had any preferences.
I was very disappointed that she found it so convenient to categorize all indian people as vegetarians. I mostly eat vegetarian, but i also happen to eat seafood.

Next time, ASK....

The dish ended up being a heap of noodles with cold red curry on top. The curry was too sweet with no complex flavors. Just tepid, and wishy washy with no real strong spice or flavor. And did i mention it was COLD. I had to bother the waitress again who ended up nuking it in the microwave for 2 minutes.

Next time i am going to stick with the authentic thai places.

I'm still on a quest to find an awesome Thai place.  Unfortunately, Daisy Mint is not it.  Don't get me wrong--it has very good Thai food, just not awesome.

The pad thai was not too sweet and the noodles were chewy.  All pluses since all too often I get soggy pad thai with too much sugar.
Spicy spaghetti was delicious as well.  Both dishes were devoured fairly quickly since we were starving.

Prices are a little stiff, but I'll probably come back and try some curries...

Overall:  3.5 stars

Tasty food.  Not overpriced.  Tiny appetizers and ginormous entrees.  Good Thai iced tea.  A small place and a little cramped.  Had a reservation and arrived exactly on time, but they had not saved a table.  Had to wait half an hour for a table.  But they gave us a free entree.  Overall, on my list of restaurants to return to.

Yum! Yum! Yum!

What a cute dainty little place!!  In order to make it up to me for his previous failure of food choices and for losing a bet, my friend took me here as a means of redeeming himself.  What a fabulous choice!!  A small, basically hole-in-the-wall, trendy modern Thai-Fusion Restaurant!!  The interior was so cute with empty frames all over the walls!

In examining the menu, we looked it up and down but really had a hard time making a commitment.  I eliminated my choices down to two categories which were: Curry or Noodle Soup.  While he was still struggling with his decision, I noticed that the tea menu was quite impressive and extensive!!  Thumbs up for their tea menu with cute creative blooming flower flavors by the cup or other awesome flavors by the pot!  They had green, white, red, and other types of teas with several listings of choices under each tea category!  Awesome!  We had a pot of their Jasmine Citrus Tea!!  It was nice on its own, and even better with a touch of honey! =)

With the help of our waitress, I ended up with their Chicken Panang Curry!  Although it was not spicy, this curry had chucks of pumpkin in it and was tasty!!! Yum!  My friend had the Pineapple Curry with Duck!!  MmMmMm, it had a lot more spices and flavor than the Panang Curry and duck just gave it an extra kick!!  I've never had duck in my curry before, and now I believe that it is such an excellent idea!! Yummy!!  I highly recommend the Chicken Panang Curry & Pineapple Curry with Duck!!  Daisy Mint has amazing unique curries!

My only thumbs down about this place is their rice.  Granted that once curry is poured over the rice, it doesn't really matter as much - but their rice was dry and not very good.  I may just ToGo their curry next time and eat it with my own rice at home.  Overall, yummy!  Needless to say, my friend has officially redeemed himself and we can continue our friendship! =wink=

I've overcome my annoyance with the extra $1 charge for rice and have been coming back here lately.  We discovered a new delicious dish: the steak salad!  You get a LOT of steak, and it's flavored really well.

I had the duck noodles the other day, and those were yummy.  The broth is sweet and the duck is tender.

I still get the spicy pork bamboo shoots off the lunch special, but they're changed their recipe slightly.  It's a lot spicier now, and the bamboo shoot pieces are a lot smaller now.  It's variable - sometimes the pork is a good consistency and sometimes it's overcooked.

Overall, I like this place well enough to come back every so often.  I just always remember to say "no" if they ask if I want rice with my leftovers.

My new favorite Thai place!
I went with a friend later on a weeknight. Just on the outskirts of Old Town Pasadena so there's plenty of parking.  It was still pretty busy but we got seated and they took our orders right away.

First we had egg rolls for our appetizer. Very fresh and good, but were a little over priced and nothing mind-blowing.

For our entrees I had the Green Jungle Curry with chicken and it was delicious! A little spicy, wonderful eggplant and very flavorful. My friend had the Panang Curry with chicken which was equally wonderful if not better. Perfectly cooked with tender pumpkin chunks throughout.

For dessert I wanted the fried ice cream but they no longer serve it, sadly. I went for the Banana Roti Puff instead and was not disappointed! Crispy on the outside with hot banana on the inside served with raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. Yum!!

This place surprised me...
Good thia in Pasadena..who would have thought??...
1st, it is not in the tourist area of Colorado, only locals.
The owner put a nice menu together and the chef does pretty consistent food as well.
Have been happy with all the curries, the green jungle
and panang are Good!
The one that got me was the eggplant salad.
Allways a miss anywhere, they do very good.
Great choice for a veg/vegan to try..
And..they dont serve alcohol.
But, that is a good. Have a 6 pack of Stella
chilled and take with you. they supply openers.

Wonderful food, good service, comfortable and hip atmosphere, but, beware-- this restaurant can get very loud when crowded.

I enjoy the tom yum, the curries (thai style) are yummy, the egg rolls are fresh, spicy spaghetti is really good and the stir fry's are delicious.

For desert, try a roasted barley tea--it tastes just like honey nut Cherrios :-P

this is such a cute place in such a random area (right across from michaels and a motel, and not necessary nearby any other restaurants)!  i'm so excited to have found a lovely restaurant within walking distance.  the dishes are mostly thai and some chinese/korean inspired dishes.  of the four dishes i've eaten so far, enjoyed it in the following order:

1) green jungle curry w/ tofu - YUM!
2) kimchi fried rice w/ chicken - interesting yet delicious!
3) gingerfish - nice and light
4) pumpkin w/ pork - just decent, wouldn't order again

the prices are very reasonable and staff is nice.  place isn't too big so you may want to make reservations if it's a busy night.  would give it a 4-4.5 but am so happy to have found this place i'm rounding up!

Yellow Chicken Curry. YUMMY.

I am surprised to find a curry that fitted my taste so well.
sweet and spicy curry. boneless chicken. soft potatoes and carrots.
white rice.

it was delicious. i would definitely come back for more of this curry.
i think it was about $8-$9 for this dish.

i enjoyed my curry a lot, but i dont feel the 5 stars for this place just yet.
mainly cause of the items vs the prices. or im just too cheap :(

I always heard about Daisy Mint in Pasadena. They served a twist on Thai and Korean dishes. Fusion Asian food? I was skeptical, too.

The order:
- Jasmine Blooming Tea, $4 includes hot water refills
- Spicy fried rice with shrimp, bell peppers, onions, and basil, $11.95
- Chilies and basil with minced chicken, bell peppers, fried egg(+$1.50), and lemongrass rice(+$1), $11.45 with the extras

I like spicy food, but the entrees I ordered were not that spicy. It was disappointing. To turn up the heat, I added some extra chili sauce.

On the other hand, I loved the chilies and basil dish. The sweet gravy sauce and minced chicken tasted delicious over the lemongrass rice. The fried egg is a must-try! Without it, I would have felt the dish was missing something.

Service was okay. The food was prepared in a timely manner and our waters were always full, but it took awhile once we got our food to get extra chili sauces. They should just put chili trays on each table.

Final Rating: 3.5 stars

wait service was AWESOME.   the waitresses were so friendly and nice.  this place definitely deserves a repeat visit.

I usually get the Pad Thai but this time around, I went a little wild and got the salmon curry.  Sat in the back where there's outside seating (I had no idea!). I actually prefer outside to inside at this place, as long as it isn't raining.  Bring some wine, too!  It is pretty romantic outside.  The salmon curry, while some could see it as being a bit salty, was pretty good.  The curry was plentiful and goes well with the rice. Just thinking about it now makes me hungry!  There was plenty of salmon and it all came at a reasonable price.  The servers are still friendly and polite.  We also ordered the summer rolls.  Eat them quickly cuz if the wrap dries, it isn't very good and will be like eating paper.

Daisy noodles were disappointingly bland, so was the eggplant. The star dish is definitely the salmon, in my opinion.

this restaurant located on colorado away from the crazy strip of old town. close to pasadena city college. I tried the steak salad and the pad thai here. the salad is incredible. the steak is marinated just right and the salad is crisp and fresh. the pad thai noodles were not soggy or chewy. the decor here is lovely with an artsy vibe to it. at the end of the meal they give you a mint which I think is cute. I come to pasadena once a week and whenever I can, I try to stop by this restaurant and gorge myself with those 2 dishes.

The Valet-phile and I headed over to Daisy Mint last night after a discussion of sushi places in the Valley. I know, it's a complete 360 but we somehow came to that conclusion Daisy Mint was where we really wanted to go. Or actually, I strong-armed her into it.

As usual, I couldn't decide what I wanted. Something I've had before or something new? I decided to go with something new and try the silver noodles with shrimp. Mmm, the shrimp were large and delicious. But the noodles themselves were kind of hard to separate. I ended up eating more noodles than I wanted to.

My friend is allergic to spicy. Well, that's what I think anyway. She even thinks ketchup is spicy (joke). So when she asked for her yellow curry to be mild, it was actually not mild. Even I was surprised by the heat in it. It was delicious though.

A few months ago, I was disappointed with the pad thai. It wasn't very good but it was edible. It was just not a traditional pad thai. I find their fusion fare to be actually much better than the traditional dishes.

They were super busy last night and it took a while to get a table and to close our check. Even their parking lot was busy. I ended up parking on the street. I definitely recommend reservations.

I'll be back though!

On my last trip, I got the beloved panang curry, and I noticed that the peas and carrots in it looked suspiciously similar to the canned peas and carrots that were a staple in my diet every night a few years ago for at least a year (I know, gross). But just like it was gross that I ate these strange-shaped soggy carrots and peas every night, it was also gross that a fine establishment like this would put them into my curry instead of cutting up actual fresh carrots. So, down to 2 stars it goes because the one dish I liked is not even likable anymore.

Oh, and steer very far away from the pumpkin custard --- it's not what you think it's going to be.

It's cute enough, but "cute" is hardly a motivator for me to eat at a place.   It reminds me of a place an aunt would like.  I'm not thinking of any particular Aunt, just aunts in general.  Maybe that's why it's so near Michael's crafts.  It's that kinda place.  Oh, and you can walk around the corner and have Frozen Yogurt from Cherry On Top when you're done eating.  I wouldn't be surprised to discover all three were owned by the same people, and it's some insidious attempt at vertical integration.

Okay, so I'm being a little harsh, but that's my shtick.  The food is decent, but given so many better alternatives in Pasadena, I just don't understand why this place is always packed.  And much of the artwork is insect related.  Am I the only one that's creeped out by that?

I was working in the Pasadena area on Friday night doing a demo for the Tequila company I work for. My sister lives around the corner from the store I worked at. It was 8pm when I finished and I was starving!! I call her up " Let's go eat, sure what do you want"? Uhhhh,  I don't know , Thai?? . She said" Let's go check out this Daisy Mint place"! My sis and I in tow head over to Daisy Mint. It's super packed and there is one tiny little table available for us. I asked the waitress what there fusion was. She stated they are a fusion of Thai, Korean, and Chinese cuisine. Interesting. We proceed to order for starters spring rolls with basil in them and no meat accompanied with peanut sauce to start. To drink I had a loose leaf passion fruit tea. My main entree was cashew nut chicken with lemongrass rice my sis ordered the Phad Thai with shrimp. Bon Appetite! We begin eating and ummmmm, ummmm . The food tasted fresh, the dishes were beautiful and colorful. This restaurant felt comfy not a super fancy place but a cute restaurant to grab some really good food.  I can't wait to go eat there again!

Wow when I went to Daisy Mint last year, they barely had half the number of reviews here on Yelp. Deservedly so, they have become very popular. As I recall, DM is very hip place to eat in Pasadena. I loved the decor. It's like you're in the Room of Requirement from Harry Potter - a bunch of random furniture and pictures are laid out around you.

I went with a few friends. We had the crab-meat wontons, pineapple curry, glass noodles with shrimp, and steak salad. All the food was tasty, Be warned - the portions weren't that big. Not small, but not beastly either.

Interesting little "Asian Fusion" restaurant in Pasadena.  All the food we had was "B" quality but I think it's because they don't really specialize in one type of food but rather try to cross section Thai, Chinese, and Korean.  Staff and cooks are all asian (at least what I saw) so that was encouraging.  Dishes are sharable so it's good to order about 4 dishes with 3-4 people.

Tried the following:
Beef with Basil - This dish was simply that (I think there was soy sauce seasoning) but also came with bell peppers.  Simple dish and enough to share.  They have a spice tray you can ask for to liven this up.
Daisy Noodles - rice noodles with red curry, egg, crispy onions, bean sprouts, and crushed peanuts.  Dish would have tasted better if it wasn't cold.
Pollack wraps - nori with a small pollack infused rice ball on top with avocado.  These little bite size morsles are simply that...nothing spectacular.
Kimchi Fried Rice w/ Pork - Average but any korean restaurant does this much better.  You're better off trying something else.

This place has an outstanding variety of teas however so if that's your thing, you might want to try it.  I had the black thai iced tea which was a little sweeter than its normal counterpart.  I needed a glass of water to wash this one down.

Place isn't very big so it's good to come early.  Parking in the back.

i've already reviewed this place twice but i can't help it! they're amazing. and i've been back twice since my last review.

came here last night with a friend for dessert! we ordered a banana roti puff and chocolate lava cake. once we received the puff we knew we had misjudged--it was huge. i had forgotten my previous review, how one dessert dish can easily serve 4. that dessert was good enough for two people, and it came with two scoops of ice cream, as did the lava cake!

everything was perfect though so we managed to devour every last bit. we even inspired the table next to us to order the roti puff. they were eying the lava cake as well but they had more self-discipline and shared one dessert.

love the food, but their desserts are fantastic.

This is such a delightful and pleasant restaurant. I made reservations on a Friday around 7:30. This place is kind of small and it gets crowded fast so I would make reservations or show up early. I had to wait around 15 minutes for my reservation and the owner felt so bad about this that he gave us a free appetizer. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Parking is in the back or street parking is also available.

Had the salmon appetizer...the only salmon appetizer on the menu. I'm not a huge fan of fish but the owner recommended it. I really liked it though...not fishy at all. Salmon wrapped with lettuce and moijto leaf. Very refreshing for a hot day.

As for entree menus, got the spaghetti with shrimp instead of mussels, beans with garlic, and honey pork. Spaghetti had great flavor and fresh shrimp. Yum. Beans were awesome as well...not you're typical green beans. Love garlic! The honey pork comes with green salsa and this was good as well but a little dry. Maybe because I'm not a huge fan of pork..but was good nonetheless. Try this place!

I live so close to this place that I could see it from my window like Palin can see Russia. It is for that reason it took me a year and a half to try it. Have I been missing out!

I think the dining room is really well done, and the menu is true to their subtittle of "Oriental Cafe". Props to them for not using Asian. I think Asians (and I says this with experience, ahem) got and get so offended by the word Oriental that they stopped using it all together. They used Oriental appropriately, and it suites the menu style. Not all Thai, Vietnamese, or Chinese. Just, well, Oriental.

I live less than 10 minutes away and even then our take out of honey pork and beef pad se ew did not hold up very well. I highly recommend dining in if possible.

The honey pork is always delicious and not dry but I would've preferred a crunchy edge to it. The steam rice that accompanied it was really dry and could have very well been sitting in the cooker for hours drying out. It was not good.  While I'm sure most of you would overlook that flaw I say how could you when steamed rice is to asian people as tortillas and frijoles are to mexicans, essential.

The pad se ew was drowning in more black pepper than I woul've liked. What asian restaurant, especially one that specializes in asian fusion, could over do a dish as this? The chinese greens were crisp and not overcooked. I love the crunch to it! Portions were enough for 2-3 people or plenty for left-overs.

Super cute restaurant on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of Old Town Pasadena.  I like that you can come here and not worry about parking.  We ordered the salmon lettuce wraps for appetizer and it was lemony and refreshing.  Our entrees were the garlic string beans and pad see ew with beef.  Both are tasty and the perfect combination of flavors.  The noodles in the pad see ew were really stuck together though, but the beef slices were thin and tender (not too chewy).  They have a very large menu teas, but since it was so hot out, I decided to just go with a glass of iced roasted barley tea.  I would definitely suggest to go early because the place definitely got to be really busy when we were done around 7:30 pm.  Overall, an intimate restaurant with good service and fresh food.  Would go back soon :)

I occasionally have to cruise down Colorado Blvd. and recently I kept noticing this new restaurant that seems to always be busy called Daisy Mint. I decided to pop in for a visit and dad gummit, I was quite surprised.

The first surprise was finding out that the food was predominately Thai -Asian-fusion. This is because the decor is kinda fun and definitely not the typical "sprockety modern" that most Thai restaurants seem to favor.

The second surprise was the service. I fully expected that this busy restaurant would be slow and disorganized as often newer restaurants are. Thankfully the service was quite good. We were seated in a reasonable amount of time, we were approached by a friendly food server and our food arrived quickly nice and hot.

Speaking of the food, I ordered their 1/2 slab of pork ribs and I must say they were delicious. These ribs were full of meat, full of pork flavor, very tender and had a slightly crispy out texture that was quite pleasing. They were rubbed with some sort of gentile, salty, peppery goodness that when coupled with the sweet and spicy chili sauce drizzled over them, you found your self reaching out to to anyone who would listen, "You have to try these ribs, they are delicious!"

The person I was with, ordered the ground pork in Chili sauce and it was quite astounding that ground pork good be this satisfying.

If you like tea, Daisy Mint has an extensive Tea list. I understand that you can bring your own wine and there is no corkage fee.

Great place!

I was pretty excited to come try out the food here after reading all the good review. The decoration was nice, made me want to go in even more. I ordered the kimchi fried rice, my sister ordered the chicken from the lunch special, and my other sister got the beef noodle soup. When the food arrived I was pretty happy to see that my rice came in a large portion. The coloring and taste was good. However my sister's dishes did not compare. The noodle soup had no flavor and really little soup in it. The chicken lunch special had two little strips of chicken along with rice and old lettuce salad. I was glad I chose the right dish.

My sister is allergic to green onions, so she asked for them not to put it in. When her noodle came it had green onions scattered on it. When she asked the waitress about it, she said, " well, are you allergic or something?" Haha, umm if a customer asked to not put something in, there might be a reason they don't want it in.

Overall everything was ok. I would recommend people to go try to fried rice, but not the noodle soup. I've had better.

The RIBS...hmmmmmm, (full order) could be the best ribs in Pasadena area. I come to get them from Silver Lake. Other dishes are great too. RIBS make me travel to Pasadena.
Note: Writing this review made me hungry and I went for lunch. 1/3 rack with white rice and salad $8.99+soda+the Governor=$11.75. Really good.

Gather around and I will tell a tale of Mike N. the black sheep. Long ago when Parents N gave birth to their first child, a daughter, they loved her very much and made sure she would be given the genetic medical genius of her mother and the hard working foundation of the father. She was perfect. When the second child was born, a son, they were fresh out of love and the mother wrapped him up in stubbornness as the father handed over a predisposition to prostate cancer.

Trace your finger down the Mike N family tree's crack and you will find an angry prostate. Truth.

What is a brotha with a inferiority complex then to do, but to flick off genetics and eat as much fresh vegetables as possible. Daisy Mint delivers its meals with fresh and crisp greens. Stopping by here for lunch last week I was treated to a refreshing and citrus Steak Salad ($10)as well as an organically delightful Summer Roll which are both sure to keep the proctologist's camera out of my ass.

The decor was a bit surprising. Hidden along this unassuming stretch of Colorado is a restaurant with a very modern and trendy steeze. It's staff was very accomadating in giving us menus to make our selections while waiting to be seated. And if you go during a weekday lunch. You will surely be waiting.

So if you are a middle aged male or someone with paranoia for disease which doesn't even effect your demographic. Go to Daisy Mint. Save your butt. Save a piece of mind.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now.  It was my sister's birthday and she picked Daisy Mint to spend with our family.  I thought the food was okay better than average and better than it's Pasadena rival, Sanamluang.  Dishes were kind of small. Maybe cause I'm used to eating at Thai Town where you can get more for the price.
Peanut beef was good. The meat was nice and tender.  Honey Pork was a bit overcooked and dry.  Jungle curry was actually good and I'm not a big fan of curry.  Pad Thai and Pad See Yu were good but what Thai restaurant can get that wrong.

Service was okay. The only thing is that this place is busy and somewhat small.

Came here for dinner last Friday with a friend, her roommate, and another one of their friends.  We got here around 7:30 and the place was a little less than packed, but the only open tables they had were 2 tops.

We waited about 20 minutes before they decided to just add one of those 2 tops to the end of a 8 person communal table they've got in the middle of the restaurant.

I saw the sign: Max occupancy: 41 persons.  So just imagine the size of the place if you haven't been.

The decor borders along the lines of a tea room.  They've actually got quite a selection of teas, so I guess it makes sense.  The furniture is simple.  The one thing I didn't really quite like was the lack of a waiting area.  We were off by the register and we constantly had to let the employees by.  Besides us 2, there was 2 other ladies waiting for a to-go order.

We browsed the menu and I had skimmed a few reviews before I came here and noticed that a few people were talking about the kimchi fried rice, so that's what I ordered.  I love kimchi fried rice, so I figured I couldn't go wrong.  The my friend is somewhat inadventurous with certain things and ordered the beef pad see ew, while her roommate got the red curry... it had a name but I forgot... with chicken and their other friend, who apparently eats like a bird, got the salmon salad lettuce wraps appetizer.

I got my kimchi fried rice with pork and it was pretty good.  It had a nice spicy kick to it, more spicier than some of the kimchi I'm used to.  I liked it though and would definitely order it again.

I tried all the other dishes and everything seemed pretty good.  Nothing wasn't bad by any means.  Well, the salmon salad wraps seemed kind of lacking.  The salmon was kind of dry and I think they used too much lemon in the darn things.  But the little scoop of avocado was a nice touch.  Oh.... and parsley as a garnish?  Do you not know dill is the ultimate accompaniment to salmon?

Service wasn't bad.  We had to ask for refills on our waters just once.  Prices are decent.

Would I come back?  Yeah sure... I'm kind of curious about a couple of the dishes they've got on the menu.

I've read many reviews regarding Daisy Mint and the ones that have given Daisy Mint low ratings are either "trend setters" or have poor taste buds. Those of you whom tried to classify Daisy Mint as "Thai", "Koren", "Chinese" "blab, blab, blab, blab, blab" don't know a thing or 2 about Daisy Mint food.

Daisy Mint is like a small "French Bistro" filled with charming interior decor with a modern twist that specializes in "Asian Fusion" Cuisine. If your looking for "Thai" food, go to a Thai restaurant like Saladang Song for "trend setters". DM is not "Thai".

DM has a comfortable ambience for a romantic evening for 2 or a pleasant party for 8. I recommend DM for any romantic dinner.

Daisy Mint is situated in the outskirt of Old Town Pasadena away from the trend setting hot spots and so call "great restaurants". I've been to many restaurants in Old Town Pasadena and believe me - Daisy Mint is unique.

I find DM to be one of the finest food/restaurant I've ever tasted in the far north eastside of Los Angeles. The trip from L.A. to DM is well worth it.

If your a meat person, try the Korean BBQ (medium well) it will blow your palate away! If your a veggie lover with a touch of spicyness, try the Egg Plant Dish which will melt in your mouth. If you like fish, the Salmon Dish is fantastic. All the appetizers are refreshing with it unique flavors and styles. For desert, try the Fried Ice Cream - its the bomb!  One more thing,  they let you bring your own wine without "Corkage fees" - sweet!

Bon Appétit.

Whenever I eat Asian fusion, I'm always reluctant. I like to eat food with a focus simply because I don't like to have too many options or else I get overwhelmed. But when I Yelped restaurants in the Pasadena area, this place came up, and I thought, why not.

Two stars for the decoration, and one star for the fact that I would love to come here for a second date (definitely not first because of the intimate-factor, and who needs more reason for an awkward first date), but other than that, the food was just OK. I ordered salmon curry, and although good, it was not spectacular. But after ten minutes of looking at the menu, I couldn't find anything else that sparked my interest. I should have gotten a Thai dish because it felt like the main focus was on Thai, but I decided to be adventurous and opt for the curry.

Perhaps I'd come back here, but it wouldn't be at the top of my list of places to go in the future.

Whoa what the heck? Did Urban Outfitters open up their own restaurant/cafe?  You wouldn't know upon first glance but this little gem of a restaurant actually serves an eclectic mix of Thai-Fusion cuisine.

The interior is quite a trip and it's definitely worth coming here just to bask in the cozy atmosphere. You'd be fooled completely thinking you're eating at a dessert/cafe shop as there's barely a hint of Asian influences.  It's cute and a date-worthy place.

The food is delicious and overall good.  With our large party of 10 people, we ordered a number of curry and rice dishes.  The panang curry was savory and most of the dishes were surprisingly lighter on the grease than we would have thought.  The spicy fried rice could have been spicier...I was hoping for more kick in the flavor department too.  The fish we ordered was delicious though, but the roti canai with curry was overly greasy though and I was disappointed it looked more like the Chinese "pancake" than the paper thin crispy pastry/bread thing I was expecting.

Daisy Mint also has a nice list of flavored teas and a decadent dessert menu that looks almost too good to pass up.  Service was decent if a tad slow but very friendly.

The location is a bit hard to find along the street. If you are like me, chances are you will circle around the area in search of the place at least once.  Street parking is around the corner.

Nothing about this place disappointed me. The parking was a cinch, the service was fast and friendly, the decor was stylish and playful and the food was exceptional. We ordered the peanut dumplings and the crab roll appetizers (small servings but very elegant and tasty). Then we shared the Panang Chicken Curry with pumpkin and I loved every bite. This serving was so generous, the two of us couldn't finish it. I will award five stars if I go back and have the same experience :)
