Great place to get cute, Japanese knick-knacks for $1.50 (unless otherwise noted). You can get anything from pens, stationary, cups, plates, crafting accessories to garden stuff (and more).

Loses one star...because almost everything in this store is made in China. Come on...you have to compromise a little to gain a little  ;)

There are two words that do not go together: Japanese and Cheap. Not with food. Not with electronics. Not with gadgets. Yet in some weird alignment of stars, where perhaps a portal to an alternate dimension / mirror universe opened in the middle of Seatac Mall, Daiso is precisely that, Japanese goods, knick knacks, and thingamabobs at ridiculously cheap prices (I'm talking around a buck here).

I walked in to get a shower scrub because I didn't want to make a second trip to the local H-Mart / Paldo World. Instead, I ended up browsing for a good 30 minutes discovering things I never knew existed, but could no longer live without. Bowls! Pottery! Goodie bags! Crackers! Candy! Tableware! Paper! Candy! (again). I limited myself to buying only the shower scrub (hey, we're in a recession!). For less than $2 bucks, I didn't expect it to last very long, and it didn't. The scrubiness was gone within a week, but I still consider it a good deal.

Though Japan, Inc. may not have the same cachet it once did, for these prices, well, it's A-Ok in my book.

Why I gave it two stars?  shudup and read then or get lost.
Called to ask if the store was in mall, b/c I was new to the area.  This non-English speaking Asian lady picked up the phone and I couldn't understand a stinking word she said.  And she started yelling out "Next -ta @@#@ to Tar-ga-tae?  WTF..lol.  I was pissed and went to the store to cuss out the lady before my gf stopped me.  Found out the rude Japanese lady on the phone was very nice to Japanese speaking peeps, but to others she was pretty rude.  I can speak a little japanese and heard some of things she said about other non-Japanese customers, not nice...

I'm the type of person where once you have too many options, I become waaaaay indecisive (Like when you go to the grocery to buy shampoo and a worker directs you to a half-mile long rack of a million type of shampoos for 50 different hair types? Yeah..). Mix that with colorful, cluttered and random japanese souvenirs, and you have a bad combination.

Seriously, the very few times my sister dragged me into this store, I left almost having to have to breathe in a paper bag  (ok, maybe not).

But I really can't understand how people can sift through all the crap (and by crap, I mean it by the most endearing) this store has. Maybe I just don't have the patience, but I would never go into this store bymyself lest I find myself looking through the racks and racks of bowls, plates, teacups and dishes with a million different designs and ultimately yelling in frustration "I just want a friggin rice bowl!"

But if you do have the time and shopping savvy that I don't, it's a great place to find japanese inspired knick knacks. And for cheap!

I love Daiso! I have to agree with another review about the location @ the Puyallup South Hill Mall being better stocked, but if you're in need for some 'kawaii' stuff, then this place will be a good fix!

I love to stock up on stationary, the miniature binders, refill paper for the miniature binders, and the cute piggy banks. I've tried the bento containers, but soon figured out that it's better to go with the more expensive ones that won't spill your food with a flimsy lid.

DAISO IS ADORABLE!
It's my place if i'm looking for something cute and quirky.

STOCKED FULL with rice bowls, teacups and kettles, crackers, cute baking goods, jingling cell phone keychains, mini pillows, mini toys, mini car accessories.

a lot of things MINI?

Well, if you're a japanese fanADDICT then I'm SURE you heard of this store. But for anyone else out there that needs a helping hand as to were to find adorable dinnerware, and even cuter aprons, traditional japanese house decorations and perhaps even a plastic plant or two, this is the place to go.

JUST SOAK IN THE DIASO-INESS.
it makes me super giddy. =P

you don't even understand HOW cool this place is. There's everything here. I even found stuff for the garden?! Yeahhhh, pretty cool. Prices are cheap rather than those hellokitty sanrio shops and you save more.
Overall, I KNOW I haven't seen even half of the stuff there and I can't wait to keep exploring.

Firstly, it is spelled DAISO...the first review seems to have been drunk or dyslexic...or just confused by all of the Japanese letters on the Daiso packaging : )

This store is a chain that hails from Japan.  They have stores all over Asia, the Middle East, and now starting in America.

Everything is under two bucks....its pretty great.  It is a cultural experience.....every package is writtin in Japanese.  The people who work there are bilingual.....and very helpful.  They have everything from dishes, to doll furniture, garden implements, writing paper, party supplies, hair products, pet toys, and even underwear.

Wonderful, wonderful place!  I personally enjoy South Hill's more, but who can be picky will so many wonderful japanese girls helping you out?
And, need I say more about the music they play?

Hooray asian 'dollar' stores!

(PS - someone please be a doll and fix the title... it's "Daiso"; 'a' in front of the 'i'.)

Entertainment and shopping combined at the Commons Mall!  Lots of great stuff...some good quality, some crap...and most everything is $1.50.  The entertainment value comes in finding items which you've never seen before and can't even begin to identify.  Many of the product identifications are in Japanese, so that's no help.  Great thing is that the item will only run you a buck fifty so you can buy one, take it home and spend valuable time trying to figure it out.

I could spend hours browsing in this Japanese 'dollar store'!  You could never find Japanese pottery -cute soy=sauce bottles, bowls, condiment dishes, etc. at Woolworth's - or the Dollar Tree.  But you can find that, and everything else from cotton swabs to shrimp chips, wooden boxes to bonsai sculptures, kid's toys to hair clips, pliers to calligraphy brushes and mulberry paper here!  And you can leave with a whole bag of goodies for under $10 !!!  I just wish more of their product lables were translated into English - though some of those that are are a riot to read!!

Okay seriously, I really like this place.  What everyone says is true. They have really interesting items and ridiculous prices.  That withstanding,  I can't begin to get my wife to go in there because of how dirty the place is.  For the love of God and all that is holy, Clean the flippin carpets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or get new flooring.  I could totally give this place four or five stars if that would happen.
