Eating out in Blanco can be onset by unnerving desperation, and although we all know that Dairy Queens are as home base to small towns as churches are, this one is slow, slow, slow, and slow.
High school kids work the place, which I find charming and true to a real portrait of small town America, but 30 minutes for a cheeseburger, take out, with the rest of the patrons staring into outer space, unpleasant.
And then being 'placated' by a child manager who thinks he's clever.. is painful as it is claustrophobic.
Only in a bind.
Plus is, it's usually the place that will be open in Blanco when nothing else is.
