You can call me a breakfast connoisseur. If there is a good breakfast in the city, I will seek it out and destroy my diet.

Since discovering all that Soho has to offer, I decided I want to live there. This is one more reason why.

I loved this cute little new-aged dinner. The menu was pretty extensive and the food was simply delicious. I couldn't ask for anything more. Oh yeah... and the prices are reasonable.

Just to say what I got both times. And by both, I mean that I went there twice in a week because I was so happy the first time.

First time I got an omelet loaded with veggies and a side of potatoes. The omelet was fluffy and packed full of veggies. The side of potatoes were "soo good you don't need ketchup." I stole that direct quote from my sister. Second visit, I got the Broad St. Bully Benedict., which is an eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce, shaved sirloin, american cheese, caramelized onions and mushrooms. My sister got the New York Benedict which was an eggs benedict with smoked salmon, chive cream cheese, and hollandaise sauce. Perfecto.

The place had a nice crowd around 1-2 pm on a saturday, and I'm sure its even busier earlier in the day on the weekend. Either way, it's worth the wait and the visit. This place has something for everyone, whether your watching your calories, looking for greasy-spoon type food, or just something new. Good for the entire family and has a great outdoor seating area.

One of the many, many eateries along Howard and we ended up there on the bounce, having learned Hugo's now closes at 5 pm.    Daily Eats is bright, lively and loud.  Lots of customers coming through and very kid-friendly, hence high decibels echoing off all hard surfaces.
The menu is extensive with lots of all-day breakfast options.   Also plenty of shakes, burgers, wraps, shreds, etc.    Very much enjoyed the chicken teriyaki ...and if the sauce comes from a jar...I want the jar too. Portions are smaller than most places, so no left-overs to go.  Also had several sugar-free pie choices, and enjoyed the banana cream.
Clearly a popular SoHo eating place, and convenient to the legendary Tiny Taps Tavern, which is dim, quiet and no-kids. Last night we enjoyed both variations.

I was in Tampa for the first time in forever this past week, and went to the best place I know for restaurant recomendations...YELP...so this place came up.

Off I go placing the address in the GPS..props to this place being on the corner and having ample parking spaces around.  I decided to sit outside and enjoy the weather on a cool afternoon.

I sat for a bit, until the waitress finally greeted me.  I placed my order fairly quickly (a BLT with tater-tots..I LOVE that they even offer tater tots!)  The order came out promptly.  So everything is going fine right?? Then...BOOM..I don't see the waitress again for like 20 minutes! WTH?

All wasn't lost though..she returned finally and apologized for not being attentive..so I wasn't too bent out of shape about it..overall..nice place..reminds me of boutique cafes in NYC..I may return next time I'm in town and try out their breakfast..

Daily Eats is another restaurant owned by the terrible 3- Ciccio's, The Lodge, Water Unique Sushi. It is definitely the lesser of the evils but it is hard to mess up breakfast food (which is all I ever really had there). If you go on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, be ready to wait for a table. This place is popular.

The restaurant is a little cramped, which adds to its charm. They have flower beds and water fans out by the seating outside (which is scorching hot during the summers). Cute place for brunch, a little run down, but cute.

He had some fresh squeezed OJ, which was delicious, I had a cup of Joe, not so good. You can't be a brunchery and have bad coffee! I am a sucker for Benedicts and was ecstatic that they had 6 to choose from. I went with the New Yorker (oh how typical). Scallion, cream cheese, smoked salmon, and hollandaise. My meal was actually really good. Its hard to get hollandaise right so I give them props.  Mad props. The Mr had an Omelet which emphasized "no substitutions" as did other items on the menu, which made me a little weary. Maybe it was because they were busy, maybe some things were pre-made. The omelet was an omelet. Nothing more, nothing less. I'll be back to check out dinner sometime.

I had an informal business breakfast here last week and have to say that the food and service were very good.

Since I walk past the place all the time and it's constantly busy I knew there must be something to it. Seeing Nicole's photos of Sunday Brunch made it inevitable I would try the place out anyway.

If you've never been, Daily Eats is a diner style place right along S. Howard Avenue with both indoor and outdoor seating. There's a classic counter to sit at - it should remind you of any number of roadside diners.. although a cleaner, friendlier version.

I highly recommend getting one of the Breakfast Bowls. You can get omelets anywhere, but my Tijuana Bowl with eggs, salsa and guacamole was unique and about as tasty a breakfast meal as you can find.

It's hard to find a place good enough to meet clients or business contacts for breakfast, at least where the average age is under 65. This is definitely the spot.

So.... Here's the thing about this place. It used to be Jim Strickland's Old meeting house, where Harold would scoop you up a double cone of their home made icecream - something he did when my dad was a kid and was still doing when I was in college....

Sadly, Jim retired and sold the joint to Matthew Hoffman, who decided to 'update' the place and quickly ruined it. Just because your dad is a successful developer, does not mean you have a freaking clue what to do with an institution. Then - while I was out of town at grad school... this new team took over and upped the ante.

    Well.

Yes they did. After months of NOT trying the place (still seething about Old Meeting House) I decided to pop in and give it a shot.

The menu is deceptively simple - I went with an angus burger (at my server's suggestion) on a cibiatta roll. Added bleu cheese, red onions and lettuce. Dipped on the fries in favor of a salad. Still expecting fail.

I wanted to hate the place. I was wrong. very wrong.

The burger was outstanding. Top notch. DELICIOUS. The salad was chopped, with a house vinaigrette that made my taste buds very happy. Well. Here I was all ready to be mean, and the food was so good all I can do is smile and tell you that it took a very long time to eat that gigantic superb burger.

Only cons: The open door (yeah, the weather is 'ok' but outside traffic noise is NOT a win, sorry) made the meal a very noisy event, even at 2 pm on a Monday. My server seemed anxious for me to finish (end of shift maybe? that was kind of annoying) and the burger was not pink in the middle like I asked for. Still tasty, but not cooked as directed.

With tax and tip, 14 bucks for lunch. Not cheap, but way better than I imagined.

So when you have to go speak somewhere downtown at 8 am when you're used to rolling out of the rack about 9:30 every morning, the first thing you think is "yikes, that's early and that sucks." But when the second thought is "at least I'll be done in time to get to Daily Eats for breakfast," that should give you some indication of how good this place is.

I got the carnivore omelet. I always get the carnivore omelet. Everything else on the menu could be written in sanskrit and it wouldn't make a difference to my dining experience. Ham, sausage, cheese, bacon, and brought to your table quickly always by a waitress that's attentive without being pushy. But what makes it a 5 star experience is the home fries that are marinated in pure joy and love. They are quite amazing, and for some reason much tastier than the ones you get everywhere else on planet earth, and yes I just argued that they they are the world's greatest home fries.

Oh, and now they serve Coke Zero. Awesomeness unlocked!

We were referred here from anyone and everyone in the area about good diner breakfasts. Every place I've ever been the first thing that happens when you sit down is that magical coffee that you didn't make at home. That coffee that starts everything- after 15 minutes of sitting at a booth right next to the exit from the kitchen and getting ready to leave, the coffee finally came. We watched 8 people behind the counter ignore us the entire time waiting for that wonderful morning coffee. Breakfast was OK, nothing to roll over and die for and the whole "bowl" feeding that's being done has to stop, or just put the contents between a couple of slices of bread and make a breakfast sandwich. Cereal goes in a bowl, soup goes in a bowl..etc. Service was eh. Not going back, it's a cute little place but the food isn't enough to bring me back.

I stopped  here for lunch yesterday when I was in town for work. I was in the mood for a salad or breakfast food, so I thought it looked liked a good choice because it had good ratings, and was in a cute & also convenient area.

It was definitely a modern diner and the menu looked pretty good. However, 3 things bummed me out: 1) They don't serve breakfast items for lunch. In my opinion, if you call yourself a diner, breakfast items should always be available. 2) For all their interesting "bowl" items, none of them were vegetarian. 3) The one salad that caught my attention was almost $11. I think that's a little steep for a lunch salad with no animals in it.

That being said, I ended up ordering the veggie burger with tater tots, and it was definitely the best veggie burger AND tater tots I've ever had! If I lived in Tampa, I would  probably go back just for that. :)

Had breakfast here late one Tuesday morning.  A friend recommended it, so we tried it.  The prices are somewhat high, but the food is very good...so I can't really complain.

There was one thing that REALLY upset me, though...hence, the 3 star review.  We were there for breakfast...they gave us a breakfast menu which contained an entire PAGE of dishes that were only available on weekends after 11:30am.  None of which you could order.  That just drove me absolutely nuts.  Why even give that to us if we can't get it?  I think that part of the menu should be separate and given out on weekends only.

Since they don't offer ANY substitutions at all...I had to be very particular in what I ordered...so glad I didn't bring my husband here with me, because he would've made me leave with their strict menu.  I got the eggs benedict, florintine and it really was delicious.

So, aside from the mediocre service, the strict rules with the menu and the menu they give you just to tease you...the food was fabulous.  Not sure if I'd ever go back...but I guess we'll see.

Our family has eaten here on a Sunday AM and Monday PM.  The food is good and consistent, service is quick and efficient, even though they are really busy.  I had an omelet that was very tasty on Sunday and a juicy, bison burger on Monday - the sweet potato fries were AWESOME and a nice treat since I do not eat regular fries!

During our last trip to Tampa we asked the hotel staff for a good place, close by, to grab breakfast. When she recommended the local Waffle House, out came my trusty Yelp app with the quickness! Tampa had to offer more than a Waffle House, right??

We stumbled upon Daily Eats, and after reading a few reviews decided to check it out.

As we drove by we noticed a decent sized crowd waiting outside. With the fear of Waffle House in us, we decided we would just wait it out. When we put our name in, the hostess said there was plenty of outdoor seating available if we didn't want to wait for a spot inside. Heck yeah! After all, we were still trying to thaw after a very snowy New England winter.

Everything on the menu looked great! I decided to try the Tijuana breakfast bowl which consisted of scrambled eggs, vegetable chili, pepper jack cheese and guac served over home fries. Sometimes bowls like this are just a hodgepodge of ingredients fighting for space, and in the end everything just beings to taste like one singular overpowering item. Not this bowl!! There were the perfect amounts of everything, so each bite was a little different and very delicious.  All the flavors played very well together, and nothing was overpowering.

Next time we're in Tampa, we'll be back for sure!

Great food!!!! We went for breakfast and I was choosing between the Gigante and the Healthy DL. Believe it or not, I chose the healthy and was EXTREMELY satisfied. The oatmeal was perfect, not too sweet, just perfect. My wife had the whole wheat blueberry pancakes and they were great as well. Highly recommend me for breakfast.  Will have to try lunch and dinner.

This place is exactly what I want a breakfast place to be: staffed by friendly people who pour you coffee really quickly; offering a vast array of not only the sweet and savory breakfast options, but also sweet/savory combinations (my favorite is the Dougie, which features both pancakes and eggs-n-sausage);is  reasonably priced; has free wi-fi; and is in my neighborhood. It gets crowded here, but that's the price you pay.

Holy Bowly! This is eggsactly the kind of place you want to spend a time like Gasparilla (see what I did there?)

If you could have a dream and in that dream you imagine you're on death row and you get one last meal. Well obviously you're going to pick steak, potatoes, and eggs.

Well if that happened to you, then you're in luck! Because Daily Eats has just that. The bowls are tremendous whether you get the egg bowls in the morning or the mac n cheese bowls at night.  Great combinations, great staff, great atmosphere. All around great place

If you're in Tampa and you're near Daily Eats, do yourself a favour and stop in and try it.

    Tampa, FL

Last Sunday Scott turned to me and said, "Entertain me, monkey!" No, no, that's a joke, but we did have a little trouble deciding what we wanted to do. Most of our lives together revolve around food. What to eat, where to eat, how long it will take to get to the places we do eat, etc. So I grabbed my Yelp! bookmarks list and started naming breakfast/brunch restaurants I had thought about trying over the two years I've been collecting. We skimmed over a few in Clearwater and St. Pete, but there was a gay pride festival going on which we feared would end up keeping us waiting for hours and hours.

Instead we settled on Daily Eats in Tampa. I knew I had never been and Scott thought he hadn't (turns out when we pulled in he realized he had, but oh well). Reviews looked good and it wasn't a huge distance.

The place was packed! We chose to sit outside on the island bar facing the street. We started with grapefruit mimosas (decliiiious!!) and each had one of the special breakfast bowls. I with "The Boot": Scrambled eggs with pepperocini, kalamata olives, green peppers, diced tomatoes, and feta cheese on a bed of fresh spinach (pictured first); and Scott with "The Tijuana": Eggs scrambled with vegetable chili, shredded pepperjack and guacamole, served over homefries (pictured second). I have to say I think I preferred his. I added jalapenos to mine, but they were pickled and just didn't have the kick I was looking for. Also, the feta doesn't melt and there was no "sauce", whereas his had the chili, guacamole and cheese. Either way, they were both delicious and we definitely polished them off! I'd go back again and would like to see what the lunch and dinner menus have to offer. It was a great day.

I had about 30 minutes before my morning meeting in Tampa. I was STARVING and looking for a great breakfast option that would be filling, healthy, and relatively quick!

On to the Daily Eats! I sidled up to the bar, and had a mug of coffee in my hand in no time. I ordered the Raymond - egg whites, spinach, tomatoes, and cheese on toasted multi grain bread. DELICIOUS. I also had a side of fruit to go with!

The guy behind the counter was AWESOME. And fun and friendly. I wish I had more time to stay and savor my food, but had to run out pretty quickly. My breakfast was perfect, and I loved the laid back atmosphere of the place!

This little diner style joint is one of my favorite places to grab lunch! Their Natural Grilled Chicken sandwich is mouth watering! The chicken is seasoned perfectly and juicy every single time. Paired with melted provolone on a toasted cibatta roll served with a side of goat cheese marinara sauce for dipping, it is the perfect day time indulgence. I recommend the fried zucchini spears, too. The batter is light and slightly sweet.

So I'm new to the area and in dire need of a go to brunch place. Nothing worse than an early weekend morning with no place to go...

I tried the Gigante and my brunch date had some sort of shredded salad concoction...

The Gigante was what I had to order (no fancy egg white, guacamole, pan steamed breakfast for me) two eggs, two strips of bacon, two pieces of toast, home fries and a short stack of pancakes. The eggs were good and the bacon was tasty, although I think for the $9-10 I payed for it I'd like to have 3-4 strips of bacon. Pancakes were actually spectacular so all in all I was pretty content with the meal.

The salad was good, nice combo of flavors although could have used a bit more focus...

Will go again, bit not ready to call this my go to place yet.

Good reviews sent us to Daily Eats for a Sunday morning breakfast.  I'm always willing to give a place a break as everyone has an off day.  I hope this was theirs.

Service was good and the outside seating under the awning was nice (especially with the mister fans keeping us cool).  Unfortunately, the food took forever: about 40 minutes for an eggs benedict and a short stack.  When the benedict came the hollandaise had been poured on top despite our request to have it on side.

    Pancakes
They had a nice consistency.  My wife had plain and enjoyed hers; I had mine with banana and peanut butter chips.  It was good, but at .50 a topping i would have liked more than 3 small slices of banana and a tiny droplet of peanut butter.

Benedict with Shaved NY Strip (don't recall name)
One might expect a home cook to use some sort of pod for poaching eggs, but not at a restaurant.  If you do want to use a container to poach, don't over grease it.  The nice thing about poached eggs is the cleanness of the egg flavor.  These were so oily that I couldn't even taste the egg.  The were also so overcooked that you could cut through the yolk.  Not ok, but I was not in the mood to send it back.  The steak on top was ok, but completely underseasoned and also greasy beyond belief.  Hollandaise was good, warm and seemingly very fresh.

    Grits
We ordered them with bacon and cheese.  Easily the best thing on the table.  Nicely done.

Breakfast left both my wife and I feeling gross; chill out with the oil guys.

Inventive menu and fresh tasting ingredients. That's the best I can say. Anytime you'd be likely to want to eat there, it is likely to be packed. usually that's a good sign but in this tiny diner it is not. They are really not set up or capable of handling the large crowds that come in there. It's far too crowded and noisy, and wait staff is too busy to be as attentive as is needed. My husband ordered the Tijuana bowl and as it is full of spiciness his drinking glass should have been a priority, but it stayed empty a long time, more than once. I couldn't fault the waitress too much, she was obviously very busy, but they obviously need more waitstaff at that restaurant. The food didn't take too long and it tasted pretty good. However I was SHOCKED at some of the prices I saw when our check came. $4.50 for two soda's (especially bothersome because our glass was empty and stayed that way so often.) $1.00 dollar extra for a TINY cup of hollandaise (usually when you order something like that the waitress would tell you there is a dollar upcharge but I didn't find out until our check came). There were a few more extra charges on our bill that didn't please me at all. Not to mention 8.50 for an omelette was pushing it a little in the first place. The taste of the food gets an A+ but the atmosphere, service, and prices get a D at best.

Went for dinner on the advice of a friend.  When I saw the following on top of the daily specials, I knew I had to try it.
Holidilla - Flour tortilla filled with stuffing, gravy and turkey.  Served quesadilla style with a side of cranberry sour cream.
And it was excellent.  Funky place, in a lightly funky part of town.  Wasn't terribly busy so no wait issues, and the wait staff was friendly and quick, contrary to some of the other reviews.  Overall, a positive experience made memorable by a nice surprise of a meal.

I let Yelp help me find a place for breakfast while in Tampa and I was not disappointed. Tried the Oreo cookie french toast and the chocolate chip pancakes (yes I eat like a 4 yr old). While I was most looking forward to the french toast I actually liked the chocolate chip pancakes the best.

I also tried the fresh squeezed OJ which turned out to be almost $4 - it was good... just not that good

For the two of us breakfast ran about $30 which is way to much for breakfast... that being said... our bill could have been much less had we known how to order. The plates were huge and we left about half of our food. If you go as a couple and want the pancakes just split a plate, grab a side of turkey sausage and skip the OJ and go with the coffee which was also delicious - you can easily get out of there for around 15 bucks for two people which isn't too bad.

A little loud when we went though thanks to a couple of different screaming children but I won't let that effect my rating since that really isn't anyone's fault

I would like to go back to try some of the breakfast bowls. Also should note there was no wait when we got there around 9am on a Saturday but the place started filling up shortly after we got there.

    Deeeellliiigghhhtttffullllll!

Not a Tampa native, so I have to admit that I couldn't be more pleased with this cute little diner. I'll break it down and make it real simple like so you can decide for yourself whether or not to go. BUT if you want to take the easy road stop reading this review and hustle your sweet lil self down there.

+ Healthy food! Woo, they have these shredder bowls with brown rice and all that California health freak goodness.

+ DELICIOUS FOOD! mMMmMm ( even though everyone I was wish was convined I had a stink face, the food was really good-- I was just tired and sans make-up, thank you very much)

+ It smells like breakfast ( yuuummmmm)

+ There is a line to get in-- always a good sign bc it means that people want to eat there and are willing to wait.

    + Cute booths

+ The owner schmoozes around, another good sign.

    + Outdoor seating

    + They serve chocolate milk..MmMmmm

I had the two egg and cheese sandwhich-- they had just finished serving breakfast by the time I could get my over-served self over. Boo. So good... add a side of fruit and VOILA, one happy camper.

    - It's in Tampa... so there's a 2% chance that I'll ever return
    - Everyone goes there so there's a tad of a wait
    - They serve ice cream and many other goodies so it's hard to walk away without over indulging.

    Oh another +
The coffee mugs have their name on it...cute.

my review stays the same, just want to point out that the awesome veggie burger is not available on the weekend brunch menu.  i went there the other weekend craving it bad and found out they didn't have it.

    bummer cause it's good.

i ended up with a bowl of chili and a plate of fries.  definitely a worthy substitute, but don't want anyone to be led astray.

also, we went on a beautiful, spring tampa morning and sat outside.  copious outdoor seating is another plus for this place.

This place was okay, nothing amazing though. I had the coconut crusted french toast based on a recommendation here on Yelp. It was good, but again, nothing particularly spectacular.

I gave this place three stars since nothing really wowed me, but I almost gave it two based purely on the appalling poached eggs on their eggs benedict. I'm an eggs benedict fan, I usually order it, but I'm glad I went with the french toast this time. The menu has 5 or 6 different types of eggs benedict so you'd think they'd be pretty good--not so. Two others in my party ordered different versions and both received the worst poached eggs I've ever seen in a restaurant. They looked like they had been cooked in molds (red flag number one) and when cut into they were completely overcooked! No runny yolk at all--on either plate of eggs benedict. One of the eggs benedicts that we ordered was a chicken and mushroom version that was quite good if you completely ignored the overcooked eggs. The other version was the florentine, which really needed the runny egg yolk to complete the flavor. But seriously, it's not that hard to poach an egg properly once you've got the hang of it--any restaurant chef should be capable of it and if your chefs can't poach eggs well, then you probably shouldn't even offer eggs benedict on your menu. Just a thought.

Had breakfast here yesterday while visiting a friend...got there around 10am and there was already a 1/2 hour wait.  But the busboy was nice enough to get us coffee and hot chocolate while we waited.
They sat us at a small booth which was fine for our party of 3 and we perused the menu.  The waiter was kind of nice in a rushed sort of way and he quickly got our drinks.

The menu has a lot of interesting choices, my friend ordered a scrambled egg and french toast bowl over home fries with vanilla maple syrup drizzle - it looked really good.  I got the large bowl of steel cut oatmeal with bananas, bluberries, pecans and vanilla honey - YUMMY.

Remember folks - not to be a hater but - this is Florida.  I didn't have a lot of expectations for the food based on past experience but this place was ok.

After reading the reviews, I decided to stop in for a late breakfast.  After finding them by searching for "breakfast" and seeing mentions of breakfast and brunch, I was disappointed to find that they had already stopped serving breakfast when I arrived around 11:00am.

Fortunately, their 2-egg sandwich is served all day, so that's what I ordered. The sandwich was excellent, and I could see myself eating here again.

I do agree with some of the other reviewers though. This is a small place, and it can get busy and crowded very fast. I'm not sure that I'd wait very long to eat here.

The Mexican omelet was awesome! A friend and I shared it with the potatoes and left happy. Seating was right away and loved that we could sit outside. Mimosas were a bit pricey for brunch but the blueberry was different and good.

The Only Place to Have the Brunch of Shame.
Where good looking patrons and staff meet over healthy dishes.

Go just before 11:30am so you can order full breakfast, and then put in a sweet potato fries order at 11:30am.

Sit at the bar or wait in line. Newspaper stand available.

This place gets really busy on a Sunday morning with hungover South Tampa-ites, so the wait for a table can be long and the service can be verrrry slow, but the menu is creative.
I had a small bowl of oatmeal with banana, blueberries, and honeyed pecans and the Lox Breakfast Bowl. I really enjoyed the oatmeal but didn't eat too much of the Lox bowl. It was a little too savory for my taste, and I think the eggs were a bit overcooked.
I'd try this place again though and order the coconut crusted French toast.

Busy place with amazingly simple breakfast thats really really good.

They have outdoor seating so you can bring your dog...yay! And they have heat lamps so seating out in the cold w/the dog isn't bad at all! The staff is soooo friendly. I also had the Monday Morning which is egg whites w/turkey sausage & onions on a layer of cheese and fresh spinach. I tried the blueberry pancakes...helllooooooo yummy cakes! Wished I had ordered my own. The blueberries were cooked inside this wheat of heavenly goodness. And the cafe con leche...buenisimo! And they only charge $1 to refill it instead of charging for a whole new drink! Everything is inexpensive.

I may be hard to please but a place w/great service, tasty food, & $1 refills get my wooo hoo as good as it gets!

Good breakfast.  Unfortunately their espresso machine was broken when we stopped here, but they waitress offered to make me an iced coffee which wasn't bad.  The coconut french toast was yummy.  I got an omelet that was great, it was oozing with cheese and and totally what I needed after a long night.

The food is still as good as usual, but the service is spotty at best these days. Had to track down wait staff to give our order. Got food and one of us had missing parts to his breakfast.  I love coming here, but no that it's best to come during the week for breakfast.
