Best calamari I've ever had. A must if you visit this restaurant.

All entrees come with a salad which is tossed greens with shallot balsamic dressing. Very good for something that comes standard.

Good bread too. Hot from the oven.

This restaurant makes good pasta and they let you customize your entree. I ordered fiorentino. Instead of the designated sides which were vegetable and risotto, I ordered it with a bed of linguini. The shrimps are big and juicy. Definitely a treat. Although I have to say the pasta was tossed with too much olive oil for my liking.  Maybe I was just getting full by that time. I had the leftovers next day. The olive oil had a chance to settle and separate from the noodle. It was much better then. Maybe it's just me.

My fiance ordered shrimp with vodka sauce with linguini. Very good.

For desert, we shared a tiramisu. It's pretty good. I'd give it 8/10.

Overall a great place for dinner. I think the ambiance is great but would like the lighting to be a tad bit more so I can see my food better.

From the other reviews, some people had not so good service. I have to say I received excellent service. My waitress was very knowledgeable about their wines, great personality, attentive without being annoying. She even let us taste the wines to make sure we liked it before bringing out the glass, and we didn't even get a bottle, just one glass for each of us.

If I go back to Sedona, I will definitely visit this lovely restaurant again. The only thing I'd do different is remind the kitchen to go easy with the olive oil.

Excellent restaurant! Service is phenomenal. You walk in and the classy, authentic Italian waiters take your orders for beverages and food. Wine selection is extensive, and the bread with olive oil & garlic is lovely. I had the Pasta Bolognese and it was the best pasta I've ever had. Parking is sometimes difficult, but it is definitely worth it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.  Nice atmosphere with live piano player.  Extensive drink menu with lots of italian coctails.  All of us enjoyed our food, although we all chose pasta dishes.  Maybe these were better than the steaks?  But why go to an Italian restaurant for steak?

My boyfriend brought me to Sedona for my birthday last year. We were undecided as to where to eat and asked the concierge for a recommendation. She recommended Dahl and Diluca and some other place (can't even remember what the other place was) so we decided that we would stop and eat at the first one we found. Luckily it was here!

Cute atmosphere that includes curtains and chandeliers. They had an older woman playing the piano while we ate dinner. We ate there late on a Sunday night and it was pretty busy. We had been told that it gets pretty busy so making a reservation would be a good idea. I had the Pollo alla Rustica. The pasta tasted very fresh. My boyfriend had the Classico Bolognese and liked that as well. We shared the tiramisu for dessert and it was ok.

I love Sedona and this was a great find!

Cute place! Nice waiters! Kitschy but cozy interior, lots to look at.
The salads are crispy and creamy (Della casa exotica), and the pasta (fettucine primavera pesto) was delicious. Dahl and Di Luca have created an old fashioned, very classy Italian cooking restaurant for Sedona.

Come on people... This place is far from 4.5 stars so long as you compare it to estabolishments outside the tourist capital of Sedona.
I just paid $40 for a fatty poorly flavored piece of veal and I am not happy!  People, price does not constitute quality food as this place has proven once again.  If you have any culture at all don't waste the money, go to safeway accross the street and get sauce from the jar-  Save the grief when the bill hits the table.
If you're looking for a quality restaurant in Sedona you're not alone I can't can't find one either.

Recommended by a local, this Italian Restaurant is not disappointing.  Hailing from Chicago where tons of Italian Restaurants exsist, Dahl & Diluca is a must try when out in Sedona.

We started with the bruschetta with Salmon, the special appetizer for the evening.  Silky salmon with capers and fresh tomatoes.
Caprese Salad had soft, melt in your mouth Mozzerella.
My friend had the trout and was satisfied..I was skeptical at first considering that we were in the desert!
Tiramisu caped off our evening with a nice cup of coffee (we got up early to hike!)

Make a reservation since the restaurant closes at 10pm.

While the outside patio area is quaint and romantic, the service and food is not so good. Here's the story, I was craving a nice ribeye and asked for it to be cooked medium rare. When my steak arrived, I sliced into it, and it was clearly medium well. I then sent the steak back to the waiter, whom we had difficulty flagging down. Ten minutes later, he comes back and presents  another steak. Before I slice into it, I notice the same slice I made when checking the stear earlier. The waiter had the audacity to serve me the same steak thinking  I was an imbecile and not going to notice!!! We walked out of that restaurant and headed to the Cowboy Club which was a fantastic choice.

WOW!!! That is all I can say. My grandparents live in Sedona and said that this was by far the best food in Sedona hands down. My husband and I went up to Sedona this past weekend and decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked it we were in awe. The look and vibe when you walk in is stunning.  It has such an enchanting look, we fell in love with this place. I was nervous about price when I walked in because I was certain it had to be expensive. I was pleasantly surprised, it was extremely reasonable for what you get. Every bite amazed us, the best food by far I have EVER had. Absolutely superb!!! We each had a drink, an appetizer, the bread and dip they serve (OMG...the dip is EXQUISITE), 2 pasta dishes and dessert and our bill was $65. We have paid that at Olive Garden for not even  1/2 the quality of food or service. I will come here for life! The whole experience was delectable and will recommend Dahl & Diluca to everyone. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary but affordable you must try this restaurant, you will be glad you did.

We had dinner here last night, and boy...what an interesting evening that turned out to be.

the appetizers were great--we started with the deep fried Greek olives, stuffed with cheese, served with a creamy lemon-caper dip and we also had AMAZING mussels(Jamie actually liked these!), small, meaty, not gamey at all, sauteed in a white wine-butter-garlic sauce that had just a taste of tomato and lemon juice...

I ordered the Insalate Exotica--it says on the menu that it comes with gorgonzola cheese, vinaigrette, and candied pecans. well, I asked our server for goat cheese instead, and for the dressing on the side. they served it as requested, but guess how many candied pecans were on this(fairly large) salad---3! 3 freaking pecans. well, I'm trying to watch my intake, so I didn't complain, but that's nonsensical. also, the chevre was in huge chunks that I had to break up with my fingers and crumble over the salad.

Jamie had the penne with spicy sausage and marinara...I thought the sausage was delicious--smoky and tender. He said it tasted like it came off of a Papa John's pizza...

Jamie also ordered the 'London Fog' martini...ungodly thick, sticky-sweet, and pretty much undrinkable. He didn't want to make a fuss, but I wasn't about to let him pay $10 for something he couldn't drink, so I flagged down a waitress(our server, though sincere, seemed a little slow and a little green, and I figured this would be faster), who suggested a mandarin martini, exchanged his for the new one, and we enjoyed that one a little bit more--though it was bitterly strong.

for dessert, we ordered the creme brulee...the 'brulee' was okay...the whole thing, altogether, was at the very bottom of the list of creme brulees I've had.

now! onto the decor. this place had WONDERFUL ambiance, perfect lighting...but dear GOD, the decor was awful--mismatched curtains, upholstery, et al...art on the walls that was totally mixed up--abstract to medieval to nu-medieval...and none of the light fixtures matched. it was a visual overload...quite unpleasant and not conducive to digestion.

and...then there was the dinner 'theater', as Jamie termed it...shortly after we sat down and ordered our antipasti, the strangest couple EVER came in and requested the table slightly across from us. how to describe them?...they were both in their 40s, the man balding and with a porn-star pencil mustache(best way to put it...if you've ever watched the show 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force'? he looked like Carl, the neighbor)...the woman had jet black hair, heavy makeup, and was dressed in what looked to be a bright red flamenco dress, with a pure white, floor-length fur coat, and she had red curlicue ribbons in her hair. she looked like a transvestite, but her voice betrayed her to really be a woman)...I heard her berating her waitress: "Calimari's not a fish", angrily lol...the couple held hands WHILE they ate, and after several glasses of wine, they were making out during dessert.

well. it WAS entertaining.

we will definitely try this place again, hopefully with another server...maybe at their other location, Cafe Rustica...

Every time I spend the night in Sedona I love to dine here.  Actually, I have to dine here. I'd probably even consider the 1 1/2 hour drive from the valley just for dinner here.

For D&D's price range, the food is amazing.  2 years in AZ and D&D serves the best Italian so far.

Service, unfortunately is a bit inconsistent. First time it was perfect. Second time, it was great. Third time, I think our waitress was experiencing menopause. Or forgot to take her lithium. She was shockingly rude, crabby and not even remotely attentive. She even examined the check right at our table (to verify her tip) then acted surprised that we left her no tip. And I'm no cheapskate (20-25% is norm) I just don't tip assholes. She then gave us very dirty glares until we left the restaurant. Cest la vie.  1 out of 3 isn't too bad. We still love dining here and will definitely return.

For it's price range, I give the food at D&D 4 1/2 stars.

If it weren't for the deranged server, I'd give D&D 5 stars.

This place is great. It was totally hoppin' on a Monday night! The dining area is very charming, with several chandeliers and beautiful furniture. There were several people waiting in the lobby and at the bar, so we figured there would be a wait. We asked to sit outside and were surprisingly seated right away.

The patio was very private and romantic. It's covered in lush greenery and elegant lighting. The service was great, but a little rushed. However, it seemed we were our server's only outside table, and inside was packed, so we understood she was busy. The servers and bussers were dressed extremely professional, and our water glasses were never left empty.

I ordered the shrimp cocktail for a starter and the boy ordered a Fat Tire. The cocktail was delicious!! Four jumbo, succulent shrimp, chilled to perfection and sitting in the most fantastic cocktail sauce I have ever tasted. It was perfectly spicy and yummy.

Their menu is large, with tons of seafood options. I have to warn you, the vegetarian options are extremely limited, and close to none. The boy ended up ordering the Caesar Brutus, and he was satisfied with it.  I ordered the eggplant parmigiana and it was delicious!! The portions were huge, so I ended up boxing up most of mine to take home.

The prices were very decent considering the ambiance and huge portions of this place are well above average. Our ticket (tip included) for the appetizer, a beer, a large salad, and an entree (with upgraded caesar salad) ended up around $57. I'm sure this is one of the nicer, less touristy restaurants in Sedona. We'll definitely want to stop by on our next visit.

I really wanted to try this for dinner while visiting Sedona, but by the time we arrived I was feeling quite under the weather,  so we opted for the small bar seating to lessen the time factor.  Our Bartender was very attentive to us. Unfortunately we only had a drink & tapas, but the menu looked amazing. Patrons coming in and out looked happy & expections seemed to have been met or being anticipated.  I'd luv to try the dinning area next time we're back in town!

There are not a lot of restaurants to go too out here in Sedona. I live by Los Angeles so I am used to restaurants being pretty much on every block. I do have to say that this Italian food is super delicious. The Wine, The service, it all was GREAT!

I would highly reccomend this place to anyone who wants a nice calming romantic dinner, here in Sedona.

Went there last night for dinner with my wife.  I can't thing of anything that wasn't superb.  Good martini at the bar, lively crowd (you have to make reservations), excellent service, good value ($60 for dinner, $50 for the bottle of wine we ordered), superb live music (jazz piano & bass--I don't remember the pianist's name, but he was world class), and wonderful classic Italian food!

AMAZING.  the best meal we had all vacation.  i am still drooling over the eggplant parmigiana.  it was the best i have ever had in my life.

dahl & diluca has a very romantic and cozy atmosphere.  they had a live jazz ensemble playing (we were actually seated right next to them, which i was a little worried about but it turned out to be a nice treat).   a rather bleak wine selection, but i had an italian chianti that paired nicely with our meal.  the bread came with a dipping oil that had waaaay too much garlic for my taste and the bruschetta appetizer was pretty forgettable.

however, the eggplant..  ohhh the eggplant.  it just melted in my mouth.  i could have had 3 orders.  mmmm.  bf had the penne con salciccia - penne with sausage, peppers and onion.  yummerz, but i was reluctant to give up much of my eggplant to get a true sample of this dish.  he seemed very pleased with it.

finally, coffee and dessert.  we had the ginger-pear cheesecake.  OH. MY. GOD.  the crust was delicious and the cheesecake creamy and wonderful.  i would LOVE to come back here.

oh, and PS - if you were at the table sitting next to us at dinner,  yes you, the ignorant southern assholes in sedona on a business trip, don't come back here and ruin the evening for more guests or the servers.  you were all a bunch of pompous, self-important jerks.

I posted this on yahoo reviews as well, but recently joined yelp and thought i'd share.. :)

After reading many mixed reviews, I was a little skiddish about dining at Dahl and Deluca for our anniversary dinner. Upon making the reservations, I had not only requested a "side" table (not in the middle of bustling servers), but also I had requested to be seated indoors, not on the patio. After reading reviews of snotty servers, I was a little nervous that making such requests might mean spit in my dinner... not so!!!

We were seated not even 5 minutes after arriving, in a perfect corner table. About 10 minutes later, the manager came over and said "I heard it was an anniversary dinner?" and spread rose petals on the table for us. Very unexpected. Our server (Angela?) was perfect. She was SO kind, I couldn't help but feel bad for those who had posted bad reviews. Her timing was impeccable - She didn't rush us through our dinner at all, despite it being a completely full house.

The food was amazing. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parmagiana and I had the tortellini della nonna. We finished it off with tiremisu and raspberry cheesecake (one of which was complementary for our anniversary!!)

I can't say enough good things about Dahl and Deluca. My only regret is that I don't live in Sedona to enjoy it more often.

Excellent!  I wish Dahl  & DiLuca would open closer to home...

Just like Ashley A., we were told that this place was a "must visit" and we were extremely pleased with this suggestion.  We were disappointed that we were not able to bring in a bottle of wine and my boyfriend worked hard to get around the system but no such luck... We were 20 minutes late for our reservation on a really busy Saturday night so we weren't sure what to expect... but the hostess was still was welcoming and pleasant.  We were going to have a drink at the bar to wait. but the bartenders and locals hanging out were a pleasure and we ended up just eating at the bar!

I could tell when we walked in that the atmosphere was warm. cozy, and just rustic enough...  live music playing and sounds of laughter and joy surrounded the restaurant.  There were several other groups waiting in the bar area and I knew I liked this place when I spotted Andrea, the Chef/Owner walking around personally offering those of us waiting a taste of the Olivos Fritos (deep fried cheese filled olives).  I immediately knew that this guy was passionate about his cooking and his restaurant and it showed... the appetizer was delicious!

Liberte and Scott were the bartenders and kept us entertained while we dined.  They helped us to choose just the right wine and were right on with their suggestions from the menu as well.  We started with an antipasti appetizer that included grilled portabello, caprese, and grilled asparagus wrapped with prosciutto.  They also brought us plenty of fresh hot bread and olive oil dipping sauce... For our entrees, I went with the Linguine Sicilana (with fresh sauteed calamari and mushrooms in a light spiced basil marinara sauce) and Jared went with the Chicken Saltimbocca... Both were amazing!  The entrees came with our choice of soup or salad.  I had the salad which was delicious and Jared had the red lentil soup which was the best I've had!  The pasta was al dente and I later learned that they make their pastas from scratch.  I also liked that they will customize any menu item and/or side so you can basically design your own meal when  you dine here.  A lady sitting at the bar next to us finished her meal off with a piece of chocolate cake that looked divine.

I was so full I couldn't even finish my entree let alone attempt dessert.  We stayed and chatted a bit more with some other characters at the bar before we returned to our hotel.  Dahl & DiLuca is reason alone to make a trip to Sedona... we will be back!

I have no doubt our server was telling us the truth when he claimed a flock of faithful fans trek here from Phoenix once a month, because everything we had warranted the four hour round-trip drive. We grazed through deep-fried olives stuffed with cheese, calamari with a lemon-caper aioli, sauteed mussels in a tomato-based broth, and an order of the most amazing garlic bread ever, then shared orders of linguine and prawns in a spicy vodka sauce and eggplant parmigiana. Terrace dining, live music nightly, and large portions of outstanding food at reasonable prices help make this one of the most popular spots in town for locals and visitors alike.

This is a really great place, excellent service, great atmosphere (very romantic) and really delicious food!  We would certainly go back there again.  Price is really decent given that there food is so good.  Calamari was great, house salad was very refreshing and we love the dressing.  I also had a wild mushroom soup that was really unique.  We ordered capellini pomodoro with mushroom, and some linguini with meat, both were REALLY yummy!  They make the linguini in house so it's fresh pasta, really good.  We had a really nice waitress, everything is also very customizable, so you can add or substract stuff from your dishes.  High recommended.

Loved this restaurant during a recent trip to Sedona.  My husband and I split a full order of pasta as an appetizer, which was just the perfect amount to start.  I had a perfect filet with roasted potatoes and veggies and he had the veal parmagiana, which was, quite simply, the best either of us had ever tasted.  It was served with angel hair pasta and a light tomato sauce.  Dessert was classic tiramisu and was perfect.  Service was excellent, the atmosphere is romantic, we had a quiet table in the corner, the piano player was fabulous . . . I just can't find a bad thing to say about this place.

We were told that this place in Sedona was a "must visit," and we were thankful for that advice. The atmosphere is very nice, romantic and candlelit. Is it the most romantic restaurant? No, but it sure does try. One of the things that immediately struck me was the service. There was a couple there, clearly celebrating their one year wedding anniversary, and the staff took incredible care of them, They held their saved cake in the back and brought it out (nicely presented) for dessert. The couple also had a goblet they wanted to drink from, and the staff totally indulged them, taking pictures and all. It was nice to see that the restaurant could pull off a special evening for someone.

Our food was very good, although the quantity was high. We shared the mussels to start, which were pretty decent - the broth was different than I'm used to, but different in a good way. I had a pasta in marinara meat sauce, and it was delicious, with the tiniest hint of spice. My husband also had a pasta dish, which was tasty but rich. The tiramisu dessert was scrumptious! We each had some red wine by the glass, which was average - nothing overly special.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and evening here, and I would highly recommend it. We were satisfied with the food, service, ambiance and bill....which is usually not the case when dining out unfortunately. I don't know how genuinely Italian the restaurant is, but regardless, it's a great meal in an enchanting atmosphere. Bring your appetite, though!

lots of food - like too much food. but the food was good.

i ordered the Fetticcini al Pesto, which was described as "fettuccine in a light basil pesto sauce with pinenuts."  "Light"?!?  The sauce was cream-based and it drowned out the homemade pasta.  Which was a shame because the pasta was wonderful - from what I could taste, trying to scrape off as much sauce from it as I could.

the entrees come with a salad so we should have skipped the appetizer, but i just had to order the calamari too.  ... = stomach ache.

it seemed like dahl and diluca was "the place" to go to in sedona. it was packed on a sunday night. seemed like there was a good mix of locals and tourists.  and lots of drunk older people, for some reason.

This is not Italian food. It is fancy, it is proper, it has the atmosphere of the Venetian hotel and that is how italian it is. The food if delicious. I had the most well-cooked chicken at Dahl and DiLuca, it was phenomenal, but there was nothing Italian about the food but the combination of ingredients. I was very impressed with the portions and the delicious very spicy olive oil dip that comes wit the bread. The extensive menu features all of the classic Italian dishes. There are three main types of dishes pastas with cream sauce seem to top the list in quantity, then veal which I don't eat and chicken. I had a good piece of chicken but the sauce was too strong with too many toppings. another restaurant in Arizona that was trying too hard. Lastly the tables in the center of the room are all tilted an a very uncomfortable angle and there was a spotlight above my head that made it hard to look at my dinner companion without straining my eyes.
