Review from Bill H.
Daddy's is a fairly chill place. I dropped in for a few drinks on Monday of President's Day weekend. The bartenders were both very friendly for a relatively late hour, and the patrons were switching off between chatting with the bartenders as well (or with myself, enabled again by the bartenders). It was nice to be able to enter a friendly place in a part of town that was totally new for me.
I came too late to try the food menu. Tap featured a reasonable selection of beers, and there were plenty of seats available.
I'd definitely try Daddy's again. -

The diviest place on Graham. Decent jukebox that has some Flying Burrito Brothers on it. Reasonable drinks. Never really seen any cute girls in there though.

I thought this place would be a dive bar from the outside, but it's actually pretty nice. Best part about Daddy's is $3 Gin and Tonics on Mondays! Nice and quiet with booths and tables so its good to meet up with friends here because you can actually hear eachother talk, nice decor too!

I really have liked Daddy's despite personally becoming perhaps a little too old to be there after 9pm. CONS - I heard a beer distributor say they don't drink there because they don't clean their lines. I know someone who swears she and a friend were roofied there. PROS - Good memories, vibes... a dying breed in the world of over-concepted spaces that Williamsburg has become. God speed.

Take my review with a grain of salt because I've only been here once. But something about that experience made me not-so-impressed and not-so-charmed.
It was busy but my group of four still found a table inside right after some others left.
I ordered a side of fries - neither impressed nor horrified. Fairly average in size, neither crispy nor soggy. I had some of my friend's veggie burger and it definitely tasted like it had been put on the meat grill and basted with beef juices. Otherwise, a pretty plain patty heavy on the mushrooms (a la Boca burgers). Also stole a taste of the meat burger from another diner. Also ok. Now that I live in the land of meat and burgers, I have higher expectations for fresh, flavorful cow, even in bars.
The drinks were ok. Decent beer selection.
But good lord the bartender was such a sight! Really to the point of amusing me. This guy was 100% Seattle brand depressed grunge guy from the '90s. If you ever have watched the Young Ones, think a hybrid of Neil and Curt Cobain. All of life was the biggest inconvenience to him - not in the pretentious way but in the Eeyore way.
The other guy running food was more vivacious and ok. But I didn't feel much personality in the place. Not divey. Not themed. Not neighborhood bar. Not palimpsestic. Not East River. Not speakeasy. Not bourgie. Not hipster. Not that I'm partial to any of those ambiances, I just couldn't find an identity.
I don't know guys. I'm not feeling it. -
Review from Jaclyn L.
I live on the same block as Daddy's and I love going to this place. One of my favorite bars.
It's an awesome chill place to go except for the weekends. Suddenly a beautiful cozy place turns into a noisy madhouse with the loudest music you ever heard.
That said, if it's any day besides the weekend, this place rocks. I think Sunday is ladies's night where I can get 2 for 1 and Monday is well drinks for $3 and both of those things make me pretty happy.
ALSO: They have table top Ms. Pac-man which really should be a staple for any bar. Also they have a scrabble board behind the bar you can ask for which I've played with a few times, although I'm pretty sure some of the tiles are missing. -

Review from Jaci H.
Came here on Saturday at about 2am. It was day light savings time, so we were happy to learn they would be opened an extra hour!
We walked in and everyone was dancing, having a great time. I was really excited to get a drink and join in with my friends.
Got a drink from the really nice guy bartender. My friends and I were having a dance-off, which was hilarious and everyone was super nice.
My boyfriend started dancing too, cause this great song came on and then out of NO WHERE - the DJ turned it off mid-song and put on CRAP. Seriously, worst music ever.
I don't know what happened, but the DJs (two scruffy looking guys that looked like they were headed to a metal show) decided that it was time to put on something their grandparents would enjoy while playing penuckle. It was HORRIBLE.
I thought maybe it was just a song or two. After about 10 minutes, no one was dancing. The place started to clear out. Everyone was looking at each other confused as to what was going on. My boyfriend asked the bartender (jokingly) if they were looking for new DJs. The guy didn't really get the hint and the music continued. I tried saying something, but the DJs were grooving to their own tunes.
Daddy's literally KILLED the night. My friends went home and I eventually left for fear of committing suicide that's how bad the music was. It was like an old folks home after 20 minutes.
So be warned when you come here - the music can suddenly change and ruin your night. -

NBA pinball, cheapest brews, usually good DJs spinning obscure r&b, and bartenders that aren't pretentious.. I probably could have stopped at NBA pinball, though.

Review from Adina F.
Cheap cheap beer, really nice interior, HUGE bar with lots of seating and booths all over the place, and the tile in the bathroom is exactly the tile I had in my bathroom in Tallahassee, so it got me all nostalgic 'n shit. My friend and I were looking for a place to throw back a few before she went on a date and we walked around forever before stopping in here. The happy hour was great, $3 beers on tap, and it was totally empty when we went! The bartender was really nice as well.

The backyard! Ahhh! I hate you! I just want to smoke with my beer in hand, is that too much to ask? It's filled to the brim and unless you're then during happy hour you are probably not going to get a seat...but it's such a nice spot. The inside isn't bad if you like darkness. I found the crowd to receive low scores on the scale of douche bag, and they have my go to brew on tap (Blue Point Toasted Lager, for the warm and TOASTy drunk!).
4 stars for Daddy!
Re: Justine. The name is totally creepy, but I'd rather get drunk at a place called with the name than ever be requested to call a man (who is DEFINITELY not my father) the same. It's happened. And it's gross.Listed in: I am a drunk., I hate you when you call it…

I've got a soft spot for nostalgic-vibed dive bars, with friendly patrons, good tunes, and inviting bartenders. So, I'm always down for hitting up Daddy's. Salt and vinegar kettle chips for a buck are my go-to drunken snack at this place, sometimes a little sodium to further dehydration does the trick. The hot dogs are solid, but the machine is literally on its last leg, they take a good 20 minutes to cook. Cozy fireplace in the corner, and a great back patio that I'm going to frequent in the summer. Always great tunes playing, either from the jukebox or from the dj's. Overall, just a really solid spot. Kinda makes me wish I lived across the street (screw you Brian B).

Daddy's is, in my opinion, the ideal model of a neighborhood bar. I came here before moving to Brooklyn with friends and now I find myself there a few times a week without fail.
First, since it's kinda my review trademark: Daddy's is wheelchair accessible, but there are some special notes: The ramp to get inside is pretty steep. Patrons in a manual chair or with balance issues need to take heed. The bathroom is wide enough to get a 26" wide chair into, but not to turn around. However, the bartenders are friendly and will usually watch the door for you if there's not already a line there to do that for you. Finding an accessible bathroom in this town is hard enough, so I'm happy just to settle for one I can get into these days... locking the door is a luxury i can live without.
The place does get pretty packed on the major drinking nights... so I tend to visit in the evening Monday-Wednesday. Monday having $3 drinks all day... you can usually find me posted up at a bar watching PBS on the TV while listening to the jukebox.
The bartenders in my experience are all very friendly and are known to strike up conversation which is really nice when you're new in town. I've also barely made it home a few nights thanks to the generosity of a few of the staff... if you find a guy laying next to his wheelchair near Graham Ave... you can blame Daddy's.
Last but not least... the hot dogs... sweet jesus the hot dogs. They're just steamed Sabrett's in a steamed bun... but dear god they're amazing. I honestly go most nights just because I'm craving the hot dog... and then end up drinking all night. Well played folks.Listed in: Handicapped Accessible…

The nicest bartenders in the world. Especially they guy who always rocks the beard and Jorts (Jean Shorts). The DJ's are pretty good and sometimes spin from actually vinyl. To top it all off, you can eat chips and play the galaga/pac-man combo.
All around this is probably my favorite place in the neighborhood. Its a good place to chill and listen to some tunes or get slizzard. -

Anyone else find the name of this place creepy?
Do not plan a trip to Daddy's if you hate hipsters or do not want to see any for the evening. This is not the place.
If, however, you are beyond the hipster-slashing and realize, "who the fuck cares?" and also realize you are in the lion's den.....then GO! It is a fun bar, nice music, pretty backyard, bunch of seating and I believe $2 hot dogs (correction courtesy of Brian B.). They do take credit cards, but $20/minimum which occasionally they neglect to tell ya.Listed in: Williamsburg Graham L(ish), Brooklyn Patios!

We came here last night to meet up with friends and it was a cool spot. The feel of the place was nice, and really one of the most courteous bartenders I've seen.
I'm from Louisiana and I really appreciate that you can buy a bag of Zapp's potato chips for just a $1! (get jalapeno or crawtator if they have it) They also sell Abita, a local Louisiana beer, and 75 cents of ever sale goes to help combat the oil spill. I'm not sure if ownership is from Louisiana or what but that was just a personal thing that I really appreciated. The beer on tap is pretty good, and was $5 for a pint when we went.
The only few complaints I had was that it was pretty hot in there, I guess the outside was chilly so they turned off the AC. Also, the charge for a card was a $20 minimum which I thought was steep for the area. The bartender there actually bended a little bit with me which I really appreciated and is probably a big reason I'm sure I'll be coming back. -

Ah, Daddy's. I have wrestled most of the Brooklyn indie rock roster in this bar. I have taken more shots I did not need than I can possibly describe. I have danced at inappropriate times to R.E.M. and Nelly, as presented by said indie rock roster, more times than one would imagine. I have called more dudes from outside at 4 AM because "[I] was just in the neighborhood" then I (or they) care to remember.
I am biased, since friends of mine DJ, bartend, and take up space, but Daddy's is a sweet joint. Don't show up though because I don't want you take up space my friends would otherwise take. -

Jackson Heights, Queens, NY
Daddy's is halfway from Enid's to Harefield -- geographically and in state of mind. Dark, a little too expensive, but relatively casual.
The crowd here varies entirely at random; some nights, it's all low-key art geeks drinking alone, and some nights it's frat boys and girls with two foot blond wigs. I don't understand a thing about it. Also, they've developed a bouncer (!), which I feel is not such a good sign for the whole Graham scene. -
Review from Bria D.
Daddy's is pretty awesome. Lodge-grunge decor, nice big semi-circle bar, a feeling that you could settle in and lose an evening pleasantly and on the cheap. It feels a little like a cross between Camp and Redd's (and I enjoyed it more than both).
The back patio is kind of nice and there's a view of a billboard, which seems fitting somehow. The bathroom graffitist isn't so witty, but I guess one can't have everything. -

Curious what a Margavesa is? Like it when the lock on the bathroom door has 50/50 odds at splaying open and peek-a-booing the crowd? Love watching muted TCM movies while slumming beer shot combos? Dude, you should really check out Daddy's. My favorite neighborhood bar by far, this place had mid-level dive written all over it. Service is always solid, the crowd is hit or miss lively but definitely lovely, and plenty of seating so as not to be left stranded 3 deep around the fantasticly massive half moon bar. Djs most nites, alcoholic slushies all the time, hot dogs if your lucky.... maybe even if your unlucky.

I really want to like Daddy's. They have great beers on tap and play good music. However, almost every time I come here I have a terrible time and it is usually because of some dirtbag patron, or patrons. I just feel the crowd can be very undignified and callow. Once one of the totally wasted dickweeds got thrown out and the bartender wouldn't serve me any drinks because I was the one he was cursing at. Please.

Great looking space, nice unpretentious crowd and friendly bartender, terrific happy hour deals. Plus pinball!! How can you go wrong? (Except for me, that it's not closer to where I live ...) if you're lucky enough to be nearby, I could see this as being a regular hangout.

I really think the margaveza is something you either love or hate. To me, it was like drinking beer through a veil of margarita, and i fucking loved it. but i see how it could go either way.
pretty crowdy, but we didn't have too much of a problem getting drinks and got a table. we had previously been at mother's, so it was definitely a parental kind of night.
dark as all hell, but it didn't matter until i realized that a friend and i had run into some dude i never thought i'd see again. oh well. other than that, i was totally into it.
pro margaveza all the way. -

There are people, friends of friends, I've known for years, who I don't really know because we always meet in bars, and bars are loud. For 15 years I have been annoyed by loud bars.
It's time to stop the f-in madness.
When I go out with friends, it's usually because I want to talk to my friends, not yell at their faces. I'm not going to loud bars anymore. Daddy's is too loud. -

Used to live down the street and I miss it. The margaveza is a memorable experience that is worth at least one try. And possibly many more. The outdoor seating area is nothing great, but it gets the job done.

I finally made it to Daddy's after hearing about it from various friends for ages. I don't really remember anyone raving about it, just talking about it and going there frequently-- and that sort of sums up the way I felt about it. It was fine, it was good, and I'd go there if I lived really close or had nowhere else to really go...but I don't think I'll be making any more special trips over there.
The bar, though really beautiful, is ENORMOUS and takes up half of the main room. There's no solution that complaint. I liked the decor, the little tables with candles were cute-- but once it started getting more and more crowded the later it got, it all seemed a little cramped.
And the patio. The patio is swell, actually. But I couldn't help but feel bad for the neighbors whose windows border it....eesh.
Drinks were ok-priced. Should I find msyelf there again, I'd be tempted to try to "margaveza"-- frozen margarita + beer combo. Yuck? Not sure. But I'd do it. -

A pretty typical Williamsburg type of place. A nice neighborhood bar with an insanely hipster crowd (which can be a negative in some cases). I wouldn't necessarily go all the way over to Daddy's again, but if I lived close by maybe it'd be a different story.
The DJ was alright. -
Review from Elizabeth L.
Brooklyn, NY
I'm not sure what it is about Daddy's that I like. Normally I'm very turned off by the typical Williamsburg-ish loud bar, but this one seems to be a little different. The bartenders are super helpful and very kind, and the clientele is actually surprisingly friendly--almost every time I go here I meet someone really cool. And if it's not that kind of night, and I just want to go in with one of my girlfriends and talk, then that's cool too. They have booths, and big tables, and smaller tables with little candles on them, and a really nice garden out back--so you really have your choice what your experience is going to be. (Though I wish the garden didn't close at 10!)
I don't live particularly close to Daddy's, but I'm always willing to make the trek. It just has a really friendly, relaxed atmosphere that I truly dig, and the drinks are cheap.
One weird thing I noticed is that the crowd really fluctuates kind of randomly. Once I went in on a Tuesday night and it was packed, and then a week later went in on a Friday and there was practically nobody in the bar. Don't know what to make of that... But even on crowded nights, Daddy's is a great place to hang out! -

Best bar in Brooklyn. Hands down.
Why, you ask?
1. The Bartenders (Bruno, Don, etc.)
2. The Juke (Although there are some real great DJs from time to time.)
3. The DJs (Although there's a great jukebox.)
4. The Tofu Dogs
5. The Spicy Chips (Zapps' Spicy Cajun Crawtators, to be exact)
6. The backyard for yer smokin' and stuff (if that's something you like)
7. The 70s Hunting Lodge Sort of Decor
8. The Video games (Galaga, anyone?)
Of course Friday and Saturday nights can suck pretty bad, what with the hordes of boozy young hipsters on a tear. -

This is cool bar, but these guys have an unfortunate tendency to tack on a couple of dollars to your debit card payment.
I've been here more than a few times, and have suspected in the past that I've been overcharged on debit card transactions, so, when I went here the other night with my friends I decided to test my theory.
Opened a tab at the bar, the bartender said it was a $20 minimum, which is not great, but, eh. At the end of the night I got my tab, tipped $2 for each round, and kept my receipt, with the tip amount copied down.
The next morning, i checked the receipt against my bank account, and, lo and behold, they had added $2 onto my tab. I talked/complained to a few of my friends about it, and almost everyone of them said they had had similar experiences at Daddy's.
Now, I know this doesn't rank too high in the pantheon of crimes, but I mean, damn, Daddy's, why so devious? -

this place is rad as shit.
i went last night for the first time. the place was packed, and the dj's played amazing music. we sat on the patio and got way to drunk. from there i proceeded to make out with my date all over the bar like a real class-act. and i lost and/or left my glasses there. that sucked. but everything else was suck-free. well, except all of the face sucking i was doing.
i will be back soon daddy. save me a seat and a beer. -

I don't drink but somehow I always find myself at Daddy's at the end of a night out in NYC. Yes there's the margarita machine, music scene royalty crawling all over the place, but in the end it's all about that great curved bar, amazing jukebox and DJs, and the cheap, stiff drinks.
