Palo Alto, CA
"I love this place, I really do. Douce France has great panini's, croissants, chai tea, cafe au lait, baguettes, and all the desserts one…" read more »
I always come here for the empanadas and mamons. The prices are really good and my stomach loved what I ate so far. The lady (Nimfa?) is always the one who helps me and shes super sweet. I am and will remain a regular.
I took my IN-LAWS there and I thought they had more selections. It used to be Valerios Bakery. Valerios would be perfect for me since i live in the sunnyvale area.

Not bad. I was hoping their Taron was more like Valerio's but it's still good. You taste more banana and jackfruit while Valerio's pride themselves on the crispy, sugary shell.

The cheese pimiento bread here is the BOMB. It is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! No joke! You must order it fresh out of the oven!
The other rolls, such as the traditional Pan de Sal and Pan de Boniti are also very delicious, especially when they're warm.
You can find a wide variety of other Filipino baked goods here, such as buko pie, etc. etc. I'll have to come back and check it out.
This particular bakery replaced the Valerio's which was previous in this same spot. I'd say it is comparable to Valerios.

Great prices, great service, and these nice ladies saved my ass on Thanksgiving day. =)
I've tried a good bunch of their bread offerings (pandesal, etc.) and will be back to try other items!

the ladies who work here are really sweet.
but they just dont have much of a selection
& the last time i got cheese rolls here with
my bf, it seemed like they used splenda
instead of real sugar like valerio's does. &
the parking sucks cause its right across
some big companies with workers who like
to mob to the restaurants in that same plaza.
Very nice little bakery. Try the hopia ube if there still are any. They tend to sell out fast.
Their buko pie used to be better when they were the old bakery. Now they use older buko that's not as clear and soft. Too bad. We used to think their buko pie was amazing!!
This store used to be Valero's, but I guess some new owners came in and changed the name to Daddy Dough. They say they are the home of bread and Filipino Kakanin...I agree. Arrive early in the morning and you smell the fresh pan de sol and other fresh breads. The turon is surprisingly delicious, and it only costs 50 cents per. Other items I suggest are the hot dogs, corned beef sandwiches, and ensymada with cream cheese. Yum! The only drawback to this place is the lack of using debit or credit cards, so be sure to bring cash only. They open at 6am daily, so be sure to try out their fresh breads.

Ex-Valerio's Bakeshoppe & basically, they sell almost the same delectable Filipino baked goods as the previous one.... except for the nice, presentable, & colorful interior that they have now. Looks really cool. I love their "Egg Pan de Sal." I learned that they will be accepting CC soon, so for those people who doesn't carry cash (just like me).... this is a great idea. They're open 7 days a week from 6AM-8PM.
Their new name is kinda funny, though :-D

It's like the deja vu ... one day this place was called Valerio's now it's called "Daddy Dough" (for you Filipinos, say that with an accent).
Same stuff that they had before it was Valerio's. I like the new paint job that they did on the place, and it overall looks better organized than its previous incarnation. Everything else seems to be in place, and it's a I have to say that it's a nice deal to have a Filipino bakery so close to my work.
They have yummy baked goods, and really nice friendly Filipina ladies working there that are helpful and laugh a lot. I mean come on, they named the place Daddy Dough!

Best pinoy bakery in the whole bay in my opinion. Prices are good too!

I checked out this place after reading about it in Yelp. I was looking for a Filipino bakery. You can definitely smell the pan de sal all the way at the parking lot. The lady at the counter told me that it used to be Valerio's. They are still seling all the same stuff except they're now under new management. I bought some turon, pan de sal ($1.79), and pan de ube (yum) when I saw them wrapping up freshly made bibingka ($2.95). I had to add that one in! I thought the prices were very reasonable and everything looked fresh. I picked up a list of their products and they had a very extensive list of items (e.g., hopia, ube kalamay, mamon, siopao). I'll be back to try other stuff.
