With all the mold growing on the produce, it'd be more profitable to close shop and start a bleu cheese factory.

For such a small store, they have everything you could possibly need. Their deli is also very good, (they have sara lee brand deli meat, and they'll make sandwiches for you which are also quite good). They have a wide variety of wines, meats, snacks, fruits, veggies...it's great for people (primarily college students who live in that area) who don't want to walk down to Whole Foods.

Just went here for the first time the other day...JAM PACKED with stuff you might need and you just don't want to go all the way to JEWEL for it. Yes, it's more expensive, but it's a smaller market, so don't complain...they even have produce (although I wouldn't buy it). Seriously, now that I've broken the ice, I don't even want to imagine how many times I'm going to cop out of food shopping and just go here...

The store may look small from the outside, but they cram this place full of food and have a good selection of products. The store has been around for 35 years and is owned by two brothers. It is nice to have a locally owned grocery store.
D&D Finer Foods, located behind that similarly named hot dog and gyro joint, DD Dogs, is the closest grocery store to those on Northwestern University's north campus. Not to mention the closest establishment selling beer and wine. ----- a high value commodity since the sad closing of Osco Liquor.
The beer and wine selection is well rounded and quite international for such a small store. They sell kegs as well. The produce leaves much to desire - I think the last 5 items I bought were either already rotting or just-about-to. For some reason I keep coming back - Noyes Street is a great location, and I like that D&D is small and non-chain - they also have a great selection of Greek items from olives, tubs of olive oil, grape leaves, greek cookies and table wine.
It was definitely the most convenient market for north campus residents.....
