I love D&A. They are the best. I used to live on California st. for many years as a youngster and walked there every day and often cut class to get lunch. The are so on point the would know who I was by my voice or paticulars of the order and say do you want the usual. That is an awesome feeling. it makes you feel so important. They always ask me how my family is and we joke about how my sister orders an italian with no cold cuts. the also ask me if I have been staying out of trouble and I lie and say yes. Sometimes they tell me about greece and try and persuade me to vacation to Mikinos. It is a pizza shop so don't confuse it with an Italian deli. You get pizza shop food not imported cold cuts (a.k.a snobs kick rocks to the North End).
I usually order the large steak bomb w/mayo and then I take an aspirin. If you're ordering take out, bring a plastic bag with you because the grease will seap through the doggy bag and penetrate your cheap upholstery seats. It's a small place so if there aren't any seats available, a few feet are reserved for you next to the register, forks and napkins.
YANKEES FANS NOT WELCOME.

I'm going five stars for this one because I am a very loyal customer. I feel very lucky to live within walking distance of such a good local pizza place. The pizza is the thicker Greek style, but that has always been my favorite type. Their subs are a good size, very tasty, and they toast them for you. The prices are dirt cheap and they have special pricing for large orders. This isn't much of a sit-down eatery, but the service is always super friendly. It's always busy here (quick service though), but they certainly deserve the great business they get. I suggest trying it out if you live in the area.

This is your local neighborhood sub shop, I drove by it everyday on my way home when living in Newtonville and when having a late day at work or no food in the fridge I'd stop in, which ended up being pretty frequent. The staff is extremely friendly and will get to know you after a while, so basically they knew that I'd either want a cheeseburger sub or an Italian. Which were pretty standard for any sub shop but when you get quick and fast service with a smile it goes a long way. I did order some Pizza here for a party at my apartment and it was above average for the Boston area, which is also a definite plus.

Good place to get your simple cheese pizza or pizza house Greek salad, or toasted Italian sub. Your neighborhood basic pizza place. I like it.
