One of our stops on our self guided Notebook tour. It was $10 a person, and it included way more then I was expecting. There is a "swamparium", which is basically an aquarium specific to swamplife. There is a butterfly house with TONS of foliage and butterflys. There is a wood duck that lives in the house and walks around following ppl around. Watch out tho, he will peck at your feet and legs if your not watching! The main reason we went was to take a sail in the swamp on the self guided canoes. They also have guided tours for a fee. It was an easy row around the swamps, and there are clear directional indicators on the trees to help you stay on course. We did row right past an Alligator but he left us alone :) The guy in charge of the boats told us that basically if you leave the alligators alone they will leave you alone. He also told us about all the different movies and TV shows that have been filmed at the Gardens, and a Honda car commercial had been filmed there that very same morning. There are also flower gardens to walk through and 4.5 miles of walking paths. There is a small gift shop, and ample parking. Overall good value.

What a great place to spend the day. It is large park that offers an indoor Butterfly house, aquarium, reptile center and more. You have to experience taking a flat bottom boat trip around the swamp while you maneuver around the beautiful Cypress trees. The most exciting sight is seeing the alligators as they slowly meander through the swamp. The entire place is breathtaking and kids love it.
