I just moved to Mass Ave. from Chinatown and i expected the service in my nice new neighborhood to be far superior to the combat zone - This CVS has proven otherwise. At my old CVS they all knew who I was and greeted me with a smile - if I ever forgot my card they would just grab one and scan it for me - they had great products actual gallons of milk and nice ordered aisles. Oh how i miss Chinatown CVS....
This is one of the worst pharmacy's have ever experienced. The staff is (aide from the manager who just seems over worked and flustered) almost condescending. They are incredibly lazy - when there is a redic long line (and there ALWAYS is) you can often find staff members loudly joking around in the aisles or stockroom not giving a shit that we are all wasting our lives in their unnecessary, disorderly mess of a queue.
In Ctown they would always call for backup when the line got bad.
For some reason people are always restocking at the prime hours creating even more of a deadlock of an already too crowded store.
I always try to recreate my old relationship with my friends at Ctown w/ a smile and attempts to engage in small talk, but to no avail. I am always met with a cold disinterested reply that shouts "don't even try to talk to me -peasant customer" --I know its not the best job in the world but I know for a fact people can learn to be at least civil in doing it.
I hope the upper management takes notice and tries to do something about the situation in this store. You know the old saying: if 5 people tell you you have a tail, you should probably check your ass.
Is this the line to check out or to collect unemployment??
Good god this place is a mess. It's like a drunk tranny walking in heels on an icy sidewalk.
Due to the convenient location near my apartment, I will continue to spend my dollar$ here. But they need some serious help. The store is crowded and dated. The registers are in an awkward zigzag which when combined with the number of people in line it becomes a shit show up front. God help you should you be holding "personal" shopping items because everyone and their mother will know your "business" at check out.
I hate this CVS. Im from Midwest and I prefer Walgreens, but the closest Walgreens is on Boylston, and Im to lazy/busy to walk over.
First of all, the employees. In order to get a job there you must be high, smell like cheap Pariz Hilton perfume and most importantly take and pass the bitch test. I understand you job consists of putting Always, condoms, candy and Depends on the shelf, but Im sure you knew the job description before you applied. And if you dont like it, you can quit and go get a job somewhere else.
Noone ever said "Thank you", or "Have a good day" or "Did you find everything okay" to me. Absolutely no customer service. Once I actually had to ask the little ^&*% at the register to scan my shit.
I also seen this one craptastic employee basically yelling at this cute older gentlemen, who could've been your grandpa. I guess he was having hard time finding some medicine and the bitch yelled at him "Cant you read?", so I went over there and helped him find it. And when I asked him what he was looking for, she just left. BIOTCH.
The set up also blows, and if you're buying Always or Depends everyone standing in line will see it. I dont have a problem with people seeing me buy some Always, but I guess when you're buying Depends.....thats a whole different ball game. At least its not monistat. ....Ive seen a few girls holding their Always and Playtex and trying to cover it up with some magazine or trying to hide in their basket under some TP and shampoo.
As for merchandise, they got the standard fare makeup, cards, laundry, shampoo, toothpaste, garbage bags and TP. They do not have any plastic to go containers. I needed some, and I had to go to Whole Foods to get their free range, corn fed, free trade to go containers which cost as much as my law school tuition. So, I dont know why CVS doesnt have any to go containers, they are at the student central. But then, how many of us cook or have left overs?
They do have good Vday and Easter after candy sales. My Jewish soul loves the Dove Chocolate Easter Eggs. Hey, Jesus was Jewish, so I can have some :))
I can't stand this CVS.
Normally, I really like CVS because it seems to have everything. At this one, however, the people who work here are ridiculously rude. I had one terrible experience in particular:
I had a little bit of an eye infection two weeks ago. I went to my school's health center and the doctor called CVS for prescription eye drops. Just to make sure that they're be ready when I got there, I went 3 hours later to pick them up. They weren't ready. Why? Because the pharmacist didn't know what eye drops my doctor was asking for! You'd think that maybe when someone called in the prescription, they'd say, "wait, what?" but that didn't happen. I talked to one really nice pharmacist (Ross?) and he explained things to me, so although I was annoyed, I was alright.
I went back two days later (because I had to work the entire next day - and I used Visine in the meantime). There was STILL confusion about what eye drops to give me! Apparently, they called my doctor and she never returned the call. I understand that things like that happen. But really...it had been two whole days. I was told to wait just a little bit, and I did. As I looked around and waited, I realized there were five or six other people waiting as well. I don't know if all CVS pharmacies are like this, but it was ridiculous. And kind of awkward.
Finally, the kid at the register (probably a pharmacy student) calls my name. He grabs the prescription and chucks it on the counter. Really? I've also got no purse, I'm just in a jacket and jeans. When I just stand there after he chucks my eye drops, he realizes that I didn't grab them. He says, "Oh, do you need a bag?" uh, YEAH. it's a prescription! I know it's only for eye drops, but still! It was ridiculous.
I had to get some new contact solution and a new case, so I picked those up with a couple other things and went to the front counter to pay for those. There are four people at registers. Three of them are just standing around talking to each other. I stand there awkwardly waiting for one of them to tell me they can ring me out. Doesn't happen for a good 15 seconds or so.
I go up to the girl who rings me out who obviously hates her job. She asks if I have a CVS card, which I do. I lift it up to her so she can scan it, and she ignores it so she can finish scanning everything else, leaving me with my hand in the air like I wasn't asked for it. It was just rude.
And so, in conclusion, go to any other CVS but this one and I'm sure your experience will be much better.
If you ever harbor a strange desire to immerse yourself in a massive death cloud of people, then this CVS is your best friend.
Seriously, every time I come here, this place is packed. Even on 11:30 on a Saturday night. Haven't any of these people got anything better to do than to spend ungodly amounts of time in a CVS?
Good luck trying to pick up a prescription in less than half an hour - all of your time will be spent waiting in line behind dozens of other equally irritated people. Usually they only have one or two people ringing up prescriptions at a time, which is far from adequate, and sometimes there will be no one at all.
The service is hit or miss - I've had experiences with employees who look like they might melt to the floor in a puddle in any minute, but there is this one really nice lady who works there who's checked me out a couple of times.
I did also witness a crazy woman rambling and projectile vomiting outside of this CVS once. I'm not quite sure what to make of that.
I find that the staff of this CVS gives far less of a fuck about their job than any other CVS staff on the planet. Lines go exceedingly slowly.
My main beef, however, lies with the pharmacy staff. I overhear their endless GOSSIP, including derogatory language.
I actually once got escorted out by security for getting into it with the bitch in the pharmacy because she loudly referred to someone who had just dropped off a prescription as a retard.
I fucking hate CVS.
this cvs for one reason or another is pretty bad in comparison to the others. unfortunately it's the closest one to me, so i dont have much choice. their supplies of whatever don't seem to be in comparison with the other stores, and they often dont have the things i'm looking for because it's not stocked very well. The people that work there are all kinds of weird and rude. they hate working there and they don't try to hide that fact.
The only positive thing i can say about this place is their pharmacy. i've never had a problem with anything there. they're always able to fill my prescription on time or quickly enough. plus i can pay for things there with my husky card, which is always a bonus, paying things with the parentals money and not my own.
Very friendly staff. I recently transfered some prescriptions here from another Pharmacy in New Jersey. The process was much more simple than I had expected. I said I would be back the next day to pick it up but unfortunately someone had failed to call it in and it wasn't ready. I only had to wait about 10 minutes for them to get it all together though and they apologized.
They could maybe use a little help behind the drug counter, sometimes the line gets a little long.
i can't even begin to describe how much i abhor this cvs in particular. to me, most cvs/walgreens type places are pretty much the same, but this one takes the cake for the cvs with the worst employees.
i had just moved to boston, and my brother lives near this cvs. i stopped by to have my prescription refilled. they took my bottle, and said they'd have to contact my health center that i had taken the original prescription to. "uh, is this your first time getting a refill at cvs?" the girl is talking to me like i'm a lunatic or something and that if i had this prescription refilled there, i could only pick it up from there because of the type of medicine i was picking up. "it's okay, i only had one more refill for that prescription anyway." she said it would be about twenty minutes.
that's fine, no rush, i come back an hour later, and i walk over to the pick up, and the guy lowers his voice and says "you'll have to go over to the first counter," like i'm some criminal picking up illegal drugs or something. I walk over to the first counter, and the guy has no idea what i'm talking about, and says he can't find my order. the girl who had helped me earlier (and i use the term "helped" very loosely) was kind of hovering and didn't even say anything until the guy starts asking everyone if they'd seen my original bottle. they said there was a problem and they couldn't contact my doctor, which wasn't a big deal, but i just felt the pharmacy staff was so rude and unhelpful, it made the trip that much worst. i am never coming back to this cvs pharmacy again.
I love CVS, what can I say? I spend money in CVS everytime I go even if I don't need to. There's always something....always! I usually like every CVS I go to, and though this one is no different, it was def. among the smaller CVS' I've been to. It seems so cramped at this location, making it in turn look kinda messy, though they seem to do their best to keep it clean. Even so, this was the CVS I'd go to for all my unnecessary drugstore needs, as well as pharmaceutical needs....I heart CVS :)
This particular CVS is very... crowded. The aisles are small and there are random building poles stuck in the middle of the aisles blocking your path. The people are the registers are ridiculously slow and not very friendly. If you have to wait on line, be prepared because you will be there for a while. This particular location takes the Husky card but the workers are too lazy to use it so they say it's broken. How lame. Despite the front register employees and the disheveled appearance of the store, the pharmaceutical employees are very nice and very helpful and you usually do not have to wait long there.
