6 reviews for CVS
I never thought I would review a CVS, but I go to this one at least once a week. We are always going there to get random food if we don't want to walk the extra block to Shaw's.
Also I get my prescriptions filled there and their pharmacists are extremely nice. When I lived in NC, I always went to Target because I prefer their packaging and their employees are usually way nicer. However, Target is so far away I gave up and go here because it's around the corner. I was really impressed with the pharmacists I've met at this location. The ones I've met at other locations are not anywhere near as friendly!
Also since I'm a night owl these days, I love that they stay open until 12 on game days. Even though I don't go to the games, it makes it way easier for me to get what I need!
The only reason it's 4 stars is because they don't sell dog waste bags. Our 3 buildings are the closest to this place and they allow dogs. They would certainly sell them regularly if they sold them, but they never have them!
= My fridge and my medicine cabinet. Cuz I live only 50 yards away from this location.
I love CVS. That is a fact. I love CVS downtown, I love CVS in the town where I grew up, I love the extra card etc etc etc.
They just opened this CVS about 500 feet from my apartment which means I'm a very frequent shopper. Need a prescription they have a whole downstairs that is a pharmacy with every conceivable cough and cold remedy available!
Need eggs, milk, cheese, bread?? Go to the mini grocery store part of the store. Need a tiny Christmas tree with 19 Red Sox ornaments? They have that too!
The staff is very nice, and it's a brand new very clean store much bigger than most. On the top floor where you walk in there is the photoshop, grocery items, and makeup/lotions/soap kinda stuff.
Downstairs is the pharmacy with all cough/cold/first aid remedies. It is so convenient I find myself there at least 3 times a week.
Love this new CVS! I had grown tired of the Brooks turned Rite Aid which never seemed to have whatever I was looking for (snacks, OTC medicines, etc). This store is not only spotless, but easily navigable. I love that the soda/snacks are all located in a central spot so pretty much whatever I'm craving, they have in one place.
I am also really loving the extrabuck program here - I seem to get them almost every time I'm in there. & the cashiers don't look at you sideways no matter what combination of products you are purchasing (whether it be a pile of candy, tampons or whatever -- I hate it when cashiers comment on whatever it is that I'm buying).
I was so happy when this new CVS opened on the corner of Boylston & Ipswich. The Brooks turned RiteAid down the street was like a dying Kmart and I hate to go in there.
It's 2 levels and has a decent little grocery section. I can't help but love all the coupons I get when I use my CVS card. I know it's a sales technique but it works.
If you run out of makeup and can't hit Sephora, you'll find a decent selection to hold you over.
My one complaint is that the pharmacists are anal and won't refill your prescription early like every other pharmacy I've been to.
some say no way, i say cvs/pharmacy. in an admirable attempt to shake up my lone-wolf macquade luncherati, today's noon time destination is cvs/pharmacy. i know some of you may be skeptical but have faith. lets see where this lands. admittedly the genesis of this pick was the ever-present crumpled stash of money in my pocket. out of annoyance of having to locate and find a clean atm, i decide to ruff it out and see what $5 can snag for food. so far fast food has stayed off the menu and hopefully continues to. hence the cvs. unfortunately there are only really 2 aisles of what i would consider food - half of one still occupied by fire sale halloween candy. gross. after i carefully survey the apple sauce, chips/dip, i find the grocery aisle. cvs makes its own line of spices- as you're probably aware an interest of mine. i manage to spend 10 mins looking at the spice rack and close cousins of baking goods... trying to decipher the key differences between vanilla extract and imitation vanilla. chicken bouillon, beef bouillon and other usual suspects - oregano, pepper, sea salt! after realizing i wont down one of these for lunch i get back to business. ramen. ofcourse you are. maybe if i have only 25 cents left i may succumb but not today with a seemingly rich $5. i finally decide to get the stouffers lean cuisine "sesame chicken" - Sesame breaded chicken tenderloins and vegetables in sauce with whole wheat spaghetti." hilarious the chicken on the front look like chicken mcnuggets with little sesame seeds on them. cute little guys. good choice of colors with the red pepper nidbits and the green bean pieces. the kicker tagline for me is the " featuring wholesome flavors without compromise to health." plus the poignant recommendation "For an additional kick of beneficial protein, add a sprinkling of blanched edamame". i kid not. too good to be true. $4.29 plus tax. score. i couldnt find the edamame so decide to settle without the kick. how do i cook this thing? luckily a nearby store 24 has a microwave. there's a line for it! after some dick explodes his burrito, i have to buy some pocket tissues to wipe the microwave clean. dickhead. but it will be worth it. i carefully poke two holes in the plastic shield with the tip of my ipod earphones (macgyver) and nuke this shit. isnt there some rule against microwaving plastic? well after growing up on microwaved food items i figure i've built up enough immunity. i find a bench in copley square and eat. its actually not bad. ofcourse the chicken is rubber but it was exactly how i expected - atleast no surprises. next time i'll stop by the sushi joint on the way and grab some edamame. i'll have to bring my cvs member card and really treat myself.
