Let me start out by saying that I know the owners, Ramsey, Miranda, Catrina, and Tarik Halaby very well. I have known them ever since we met in preschool. Sadly, Ramsey passed away of a heart attack in 2006. However, Miranda and Danny, a longtime employee are continuing on the tradition of providing superior cabinets and other woodwork at competitive prices. They have a full showroom with kitchen and bathroom setups, as well as sample catalogs and pieces of different materials, done out in various colors and stains. Of course, being a family friend, I have toured the manufacturing plant itself. It is a modest size, with about three to five employees, with semi automated and automated equipment. The guys just enter the coordinates into the machines and hoist the wood onto the machine and it does the rest. Of course, some assembly is still required by hand. But, what an awesome operation nevertheless. Well, I did not mean to digress. I just wanted to give everyone as much background information on the company. We had them do two of our bathrooms which are in tiptop shape with no problems or defects from the date of installation 10 1/2 years ago. They are stained with nice handles and sturdy hinges to mach. So, for friendly service, top quality materials, and a job well done at competitive prices, Custom Woodworks cannot be beat. Miranda and Danny, keep up the good work.!

History
Established in 1977
Custom Woodworks is one of the oldest custom cabinet shops in California. Our investment in computer-aided machining and design equipment began in the late 70's, when few other shops shared the same technology. Because we have always been family owned and operated, we have been able to ensure that equipment has been meticulously maintained over the years. Yes, a lot of our equipment is new, but we take pride in the saws that have stood the test of time, just like our cabinets. Traditionalists at heart, we continue to build our cabinets using the same time intensive process of dowel, glue, and pressing we've used since day one. That's right, every cabinet that leaves our shop sits in a giant mechanical press for at least 20 minutes. Could we use screws to hold our cabinets together like everyone else? Yes. Why don't we? Our way has been proven to be better for the environment, much more earthquake resistant, and will not shimmy loose over time like cabinets held together by screws.
