After visiting three other shutter vendors, I looked up Custom Creations on Yelp. I worked with Luis on very short notice (I called 5 minutes from closing time and he was kind enough to wait for me). He walked me through the shutter process and then even came to our house to check out the windows (all after hours).
Luis provided some very good input on the proper sizing and framing of the shutters, which no other vendor had done., even those who had come onsite.
The best part, though, was that CC's price was $1000 less than the other guys, installation was in time and quickly done, and the shutters (as recommended by Luis) look fantastic. -

After having Louis come in to our home, we knew that this was the best in the business. His timly suggestion kept us from making mistakes and he know what the best products to use while keeping cost in mind. I will never to to another window covering vendor ever again. Lou is the best

We needed room darkening shades for our living/dining room to accomodate our new home theater system. Luis (the owner) came to our home and suggested some fabrics for our new roman shades.
Custom Creations was VERY professional and had some great ideas that helped us make our selection much easier.
The shades fit perfectly.....We plan to go back to Luis when we start remodeling the rest of our home. Dealing with Custom Creations was one of the easiest, stress free parts of our remodeling process. -

Customs Creations is great. Great service, great prices, great selections. Luis is very friendly and knowledgeable about all the products. Thorough from start to finish. We had some issues with one of the honeycomb blinds we ordered and Luis was prompt in fixing the problem and getting the replacement. He called a few days after the new blind was installed to make sure that they were all working to my satisfaction. They stand by their product and offer a great warranty. I would recommend Custom Creations to anyone who is looking for quality window treatments at a competitive price.

After checking out various places (Home Depot, Macy's, advertised places, online places) for shutters I finally settled on Custom. I had other people come out and give me a quote but i liked the thoroughness of Custom. When he came out to measure my windows, he took the time to explain it all to me what he was doing and how the shutters would hang. He had plenty of samples to pour over as well. He also explained that my windows were not level to each other but would install the shutters to make them all level to the same height.
There are basically a couple of major shutter manufactures that supply the Bay Area. One manufacturer is in China, http://www.normanshutt..., and the other is in the central valley. I felt the Norman shutters were of a little better quality. Since everyone essentially carries the same lines, it comes down to the quality of installation and service.
The installation was amazingly clean. There was no on site cutting; everything was dry fit the night before off site.... he said in his home. They came early in the morning and just had to unpack a few things and then just started installing everything. FANTASTIC!!!
I was very happy with the efficiency of the installation and the quality.
Custom was a little more expensive but matched the price of a lower quote. $5K ttl.
I would use them again. I have attached the picture of my 4 inch shutters with the bright white finish.
I would give them 5 stars if they originally came in at a lower price.Listed in: New Home buyer / remodeler

We just moved to a larger home with our 2 girls and one baby on the way and needed new window coverings badly.
We had no reservations whatsoever in calling Luis at Custom Creations. They did all the measurements and installed roman shades and plantation shutters in our two previous homes, as well as the window coverings at multiple family members houses. Luis is extremely sincere and a great person to work with. Not only was he precise in all of his measurements, he also has a great eye and was able to help us choose the best shades that fit our type of home.
We received simply the best service from Luis and Laurie in arranging prompt visits for estimates and also for getting back to us within 24 hours with questions. Laurie works in the office and managed our orders and even arranged temporary shades for us no problem at all.
Also, we again did our due diligence on costs and Custom Creations is slightly higher (neglible) but very competitive considering their exceptional quality, service and attention to detail. Well worth every penny.
Regarding the installation, we had the same person, Will, as a few years ago and he was extremely courteous, professional, and timely. The shades look awesome from design to fit. The quality and clean-up were great. The screws that Will used were even better than normal. Also, we had both of our kids in the house during the install with no issues in terms of extraneous noise or mess.
Overall, Luis and co. have been a consistently trusted source for many years. I highly recommend Custom Creations for anyone considering a great high quality experience choosing and installing window coverings. -

Like Lawrence, we looked everywhere for *value* in our window treatments. We knew the basics of what we wanted - simple, high quality, affordable treatments. Either plantation shutters or roman shades. After multiple meetings and conversations with 3-day blinds and Costco, as well as a trip to Home Depot, we found Lawrence's review of Custom Creations on Yelp and gave Louis a call. He has been the proprietor for 30+ years and could not be nicer or more professional. His staff also great.
The blinds were not a "steal," but they were reasonable and competitive in terms of pricing, and I have no doubt that the plantation shutters we now have (which CC painted to match by the way) will last for many years. I also feel like I could call Louis or anyone on his team if something did go wrong, and they would come out and make it right. It's such a joy to work with a small business owner who is not only knowledgeable, but friendly and takes pride in his work. -

It is my great pleasure to recommend Custom Creations to anyone. There is no better contractor for this type of work in the Bay Area. This is absolutely the best.
I have tried to find a contractor to do my windows coverings for a long time. I have dealt with almost all windows treatment contractors in the Bay Area. There is noone who does better job, provides the highest quality of service, gives very compatible price, being very professional as Custom Creations.
It was a great pleasure having to deal with them, especially with Luis. Have absolutely no doubt that Custom Creations is the best in the area of window coverings. Do not ever hesitate to hire them to do the job for you. You will be very happy with them. -

Thank you for the cornices on my draperies, they are now complete. The blinds are great as mentioned in some of the other reviews. They look great, Luis was careful to pick a color that matched the walls, he paid attention to details such as where the openers go and such, and the installation went well.

Cannot fault the quality of the service, or the product we had installed. We had blinds installed throughout a rental property so we didn't want to spend too much, but wanted them to look good, and Luis's advice was perfect. They were exceptionally patient with us being forced to change our order on several occasions before finalizing it, and once we had ordered the blinds they arrived promptly and were installed without fuss. Previous reviews have suggested they are expensive - we found them better priced than at least two competitors, even with those other companies' apparent 'discount'!

I highly recommend Custom Creations. I initially called 2 years ago when we decided we needed to finally get blinds in our bedroom to block the heat. We have two semicircle areas that we did not want completely covered or uncovered, but also would not be able to continuously adjust. I have to admit I did no research when I initially called as I was just going on a recommendation. Luis, the owner, came to do the measurements and quoted us an amount that neither my husband or I could believe. He explained why it was so high and was supportive of us getting other quotes. After getting that quote, I actually did the research and had multiple people coming to measure and quote. No one came close to the quality of what he suggested and all quotes were for coverings that either didn't meet our needs or were just unattractive. I have to say the personal service was also great. You can see for yourself how beautiful they look and we have just called him back to put blinds on our entire first floor - no comparison shopping this time - the service and quality work that Luis stands by is worth every penny.
