Review from Katie W.
I went here with much trepidation after reading the other Yelp reviews. I actually had two different deals for here (Living Social and Half Off Depot) and I even passed up a Groupon for here because the reviews were so all-over-the-board. Now, I really wish I had bought the Groupon, too.
I thought Cure was perfectly fine; in fact, I liked it a lot.
The space is very nice - urban and elegant, not at all girly (yay!), slightly edgy but still comforting. It's a shop, too, and there is a section up front with a few racks of pretty frocks.
I've been here twice now and my nails looked great after each visit. I had a different person each time (although, I think they both may be named "Erin"???) and they were both great. They each spent a lot of time on my toes and hands, did a great job trimming, buffing and scrubbing, and the polish was excellent. I just got the second one yesterday but the first one lasted a really long time. They use sugar scrubs and I believe many of them are hand in-house (and I think you can buy some of them, too).
They do your feet first and then your hands at a different table so it will take about 2 hours for a mani/pedi. There is plenty of free parking out front and, apparently, in the building's parking deck, too, although I never had to venture in there. Everyone seemed really nice. They have a great selection of colors and they like to help you choose.
I like it here and I will return.Listed in: I Can Deal

Review from Erin M.
I'm going to preface this by saying: I hate giving bad reviews.
I had a great mani/pedi here. In fact I was flying high on the awesome girls who did our mani/pedis and how great my nails and toes felt and looked. We were also planning our return visit... That was until the owner (presumably) called while we were at lunch to charge me for a service that I never asked for. Yea, you read that right.
Groupon users beware!!! Be sure that you are not being suckered into getting something that is NOT included in your groupon. If they say anything about a callous treatment - make sure you say, "Is this included in my groupon or is this extra?"
I didn't ask for a callous treatment, and no one asked me if I wanted one, I just got it - as did C. And now that I think of it, I just looked at what we were "supposed" to get. A hand soak, for one, which was non-existant.
Here's the description:
"Palm Passion - Hands down, this is the ultimate manicure.
Includes all the usual plus heated deep moisture treatment. You won't believe the difference. "
I didn't get the most ultimate manicure nor did I get heated deep moisture treatment. But I was so in love with my pedicure that I wasn't even paying attention. Fool me once, shame on you.
Was it worth the $35 I spent? Absolutely. But was it worth the $90 non discounted price tag it was supposed to be? No way.
And when she called to charge me for my callous treatment, she tried to charge me $10. I was like, umm, where does that come from? On the pamphlet they had with prices on it in the store a callous treatment was listed as $3. "Oh it's a heated callous treatment, it's only listed on the website." pause... "But I'll charge you $3." And lie, there are no charges listed for extras on the website. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I really hope that $6 she charged my credit card covered her lunch. She obviously needed it REALLY bad to call someone after they left to ask for a credit card number.
Never again! -

I have been looking forward to Cure opening for sometime so opening day some of the girls in the neighborhood and I went to check it out and had a lovely time. The space is beautiful and very inviting and calming. They have plenty of treatments and I'm anxious to try them all. We all had the Citrus Pedicure done and it was lovely. I believe the products are from Iwi Fresh and they are presented on small trays reminiscent of tapas, but for your feet and they very much enjoyed it!
The shop also contributes to My Sister's House and Atlanta Union Mission charities and will be stocking their shelves this week so looking forward to seeing all the product and gifts they will have available. There was also mention of pedi nights and different events, which are sure to be a lot of fun!
With the Wine Shoe next door you certainly want to be sipping a glass of wine while having the talented folks at Cure work on your tootsies. -

I actually got a coupon to come to this place, and thank God I did because I'd be even more upset if I had spent the kind of money they're asking for. It's overpriced for what you get. My nail technician did not trim my cuticles, it's been 2 days and the polish is already chipping, and she never gave me a salt scrub on my hands- which my friend sitting right next to me DID receive. Oh, and they ran out of hot water so I had my feet in cold water the whole time!
I'm very disappointed and surely will NOT be referring anyone, nor will I go back myself. -

This salon is very cute and the staff are friendly, but I do not feel that I received what I purchased and would not recommend it. I purchased the groupon offer for the Palm Passion manicure and Tender Toe Love pedicure a few months before I used it so I couldn't remember what all was included other than it was supposed to be their nicest manicure and pedicure. I felt like what I received was less than what you would get normally at the cheaper nail salons so I checked into what I had purchased when I came home. I didn't receive the heated deep moisture treatments on my hands or my feet, the paraffin treatment, and don't remember receiving anything that seemed like a moisture mask.
I don't see any reason to waste my time here again when you can walk into any of the cheap salons without an appointment and get more treatments than I got in way less time and for less price than I paid even with the groupon discount.
I was hoping for a nice experience and would have gone back because it very close to my work and home and was a cute salon, but I do not appreciate not receiving what I had purchased. -

I have been meaning to write a review and am just now posting. I'm surprised by some of the reviews that I see posted here, so here's my account:
Located in the Castleberry neighborhood, Cure has an urban, chic atmosphere and is very warm and comfortable when you walk in. They have skin products as well as boutique items for sale. The service that I received was very professional. Kim, the owner checked me in and showed me around. I redeemed a Half Off Depot coupon for a mani/pedi service and did not have any issues. I had an opportunity to chat with Kim and learn how she was able to bring her dream to life after working in corporate America.
My pedicure and manicure were done well and the technician who performed my services did a good job and was nice. My nails looked great and I received compliments. Great nail color selection. Overall I was pretty pleased and I liked the service I received. When I got home I realized a little more skin could have been taken off my soles in spots, but I decided to go back and made sure that I gave proper instruction and checked better on the next visit.
My second and third visits, I had no issues and took a friend with me one one visit to use a certificate I had. She had an enjoyable experience. She did however have to go back the next day. After she got home, she was not satisfied with how a few nails looked. Now here's the test - Customer Service. She called, explained her need and they told her to come back in and they would take care of her. And they did. She got a different nail technician and the problems were corrected. She says that she will return.
They can run behind a few minutes, so you may want to keep this in mind when planning to go somewhere after your appointment. -

First of all, let me say this: I am SO glad that this area is actually turning into something, with little shops and boutiques. Nelson Street's storefronts have so much potential.
Now that I've got that out of the way, let's chit-chat about Cure, shall we?
Cure, open for almost 2 months now, is the dream-come-true for the owner, Kim, who I met on my visit...and good for her. I liked that she was so open to telling us her story about why she got into business for herself. Her shop's got an awesome funky-but-calm vibe and the staff was pretty friendly. My friend and I visited yesterday (Sunday mid-afternoon). There was a trunk show going on in one corner, which my friend and I persued while waiting for our appointment and we were offered a glass of wine and a nibble of something. I was glad for those distractions because our 3p appointment turned into more of a 4-something appointment. We were there for the Classic Mani/Pedi and started with pedicures, which included a good soak and scrub that smelled incredible. And instead of attacking my feet, I appreciated that Kim asked questions about what to do with my nails. We also got some guidance on picking a great polish color, which was good of them to do. I'm totally loving my blue toes, but was a tiny bit disappointed that it wasn't a more precise polishling job - this is probably just me being super-picky. I think my friend, who had to wait for a very long time before being seen for her pedi, got a better polish job from Veronica - another friendly person on staff at Cure. Because the service was so slow, I ended up being the only one that got a manicure to go along with the pedicure. Relaxing, more yummy-smelling scrub. On first look, I thought my nails looked okay. But after looking at them in the car after I left the shop, I think the shaping job on my nails turned out a little weird and not quite as uniform as I would have liked. They were kind enough to let us defer use of the second manicure for use at some other time, so that flexibility was a major plus in my book.
So...totally relaxing space offering a wide variety of services. Three-and-a-half stars from me, with most of the penalty coming from the timing (it was 6p when we left our 3p appt and we still didn't get everything we came for). I think they're still working out a couple of kinks, so I expect things will start to run more smoothly here soon. I definitely plan to visit again and hope to boost their rating when I update this review. -

After repeatedly calling to make an apt they finally answered. As I was coming from out of town, I called and told them I needed to come in later and was reassured that was fine. So, I get there and the owner tells me it will be a 30 min wait. Er, okay. Fast forward one hour later and I'm still waiting to be serviced. And, the owner knew I had another apt to make so she could've told me right there she was understaffed and saved me the hour of my life spent reading trashy magazines. The sad thing is that they weren't very apologetic about the situation either. Beautiful facility, but I won't be going there.

I am so surprised that there are good reviews for this place cause I've had two terrible experiences with them, and one wonders how they can even make nail appointments so bad?
So my first time there I was given a woman who was apparently double booked and she said right off the bat I am going to have to rush through you. And rush she did, being extremely rough and doing the worst job ever on my nails and feet, even though I told her I was getting my nails done for an extremely important occasion.
So I would have never bothered to try to go back but I was given a gift certificate with an expiry date on it. I tried and tried to book via phone, no answer. Then tried to book online, kept getting error messages. I finally got someone and booked for my last day before certificate expired, which just happened to be Atlanta snow day with all businesses shut down. Except Cure, where the owner would not let me reschedule. Told me they were still open and therefore I had to come in that day or lose gift certificate. So I lost it. I am totally wondering how other people managed to have good times here with what I've seen of them. The only thing good I can say about Cure is the look of the place is nice. It is such a disappointment because they are located close to my home and I really wanted to like them. -

I got a groupon for this before i read the reviews and then i saw the bad ones afterward so i was kind of nervous. But i have to say i had a nice experience there. i cannot remember the names of the woman who did our mani/pedis but they were both very friendly. they lasted about an hour. i am not sure i would have paid the amount without the groupon but that is what you get with the boutique nail salons. i didnt have any cash to tip the girl but they ran my card for just the tip amount i wanted which was nice. i would go back if groupon did this again.

Is the business still open? The phone is disconnected, so I sent an email to the contact person noted on the website.
My Groupon coupon expires soon. -

i've been going to cure nail bar for months now and shame on me for not writing a review sooner. i totally totally love this place. it is gorgeous inside, very hip and cool and the personnel are all wonderful. i get brazilian wax done every month and it is impeccably done and the best price in town for the value. i sometimes have to wait for a bit if they're crowded but never too long. they have many other services, i've had pedis done also which are fantastic. try them you will not be disappointed.
