Sometimes it's good to give out a second (or third) chance....

Like many other Yelpers, a couple of previous visits to the Ballard location left me under-impressed by their dry, unmemorable cupcakes. Yet after hearing discussion about the newly improved ones up here on the Hill, I decided to stop in and get a few on my way back from the grocery store.

(Well, technically, I did have to walk a few blocks in the opposite direction, but, well, cupcakes!)

After testing out the salted caramel, red velvet, figgy pudding, and eggnog, I can safely report that the information is true: moist, densely sweet cupcakes are here! A special wow for the salted caramel (not too sweet for the icing, but a genuine caramel flavor) and the figgy pudding (two words: TRY IT). There's also Stumptown coffee (yay!) and plenty of comfortable seats in this nice, airy space if you need to pretend to "work" while you eat. Unfortunately, typing doesn't burn those calories too quickly....

I had my doubts because I had been to the Ballard one and wasn't all that impressed. But when they moved into the neighborhood (Capitol Hill, not First Hill as listed) I had to give them a try. Oh man, I was hooked. I don't know why they're so much better here than Ballard. Anyways, my favorite right now is the pumpkin with maple frosting. Holy cow, just excellent and also seasonal so I'll have to get my fill before they're gone. Next, salted caramel tied with orange cranberry - both really fantastic. Then anything with chocolate cake -- the all chocolate one, the one with the cream cheese frosting, the one with peppermint frosting, and any other. Haven't tried red velvet because I just don't get the popularity of it. And what the hell is red supposed to taste like? I've tried red velvet at the famous Sprinkles in LA and couldn't figure it out and didn't really care for it.

Anyways, unlike some of the reviewers I have found all the cupcakes to be really really moist so maybe they've worked out the kinks in the recipe.

Mochas here are good and so is the hot apple cider.

Oh and the service is really friendly, the wifi is good, and the space is great for doing a few hours of work or even having a little birthday party as I've seen many teenage girls have there.

I'm becoming a regular. Just love it.

Whoa whoa whoa hold on a second. I still haven't reviewed this place? I'm usually really good about that!

I have tasted an assortment of their cupcakes, and I think my favorite so far has been the recent raspberry cupcake of the month. It was fruity and delicious!! I especially like their babycakes because I think that's the perfect size for a cupcake.

I had a mocha there last time, and ohhhh my god. It was amazing. I'm not sure what it was, though.... was it the Verite coffee? The way they made it? Both???

Oh and the space... I think the space is adorable!! I love the colors and the set-up. This location is at the top of my list (of placed to go) if I happen to be in the area and looking for a place to read, meet up with someone for coffee/dessert, or maybe even study.

When I went there, I had a hard time to decide to pick one cupcake. All cupcakes looked so yummy. I wish I had two stomach so I might be able to eat all of them!! My choice was a lemon drop cupcake and latte. Both of them were good!

Staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. I had a very relaxing time with yum cupcake and latte :)

So instead of the traditional wedding cake, my now hubby and I decided to have wedding cupcakes.  I'd heard Trophy was all the rage, but in a head to head competition (we had 4 people and 6 cupcakes each from Trophy and Royale) Royale was the unanimous winner.

Basically they do everything you could want for cupcakes for your wedding or special event.

1. you get a cheaper price the more you order - I think we ended up paying about $2.50 per cupcake, compare that to a wedding cake!
2. They deliver for a small charge and set up
3. They will let you rent a cupcake stand that holds 90 cupcakes for a small charge
4. They do small cakes for cutting (which we didn't do)
5. You can order cupcakes off the menu or have ones specially made for your event - we did both.  We had one third lemon drop (soooo freakin' amazing), one third caramel apple (the October special) and one third Coconut Bunny with Pink instead of White frosting (really pretty)
6. We were treated really well, and the people who work at both the Ballard and Capitol Hill locations are crazy nice.

Everyone loved them!  In fact we had to "cut the cake" early because people were eating them already!

Every year my sweet southern Oregon parents send a cake to my work for my birthday. When sweet Mom this year advised me that she was "trying something different" for my big day, I was a bit concerned. Emails from younger sister about potential deliveries from Erotic Bakery did not help allay my fears.

Mom & Dad did well, though, and this year surprised me with a dozen cupcakes delivered from Cupcake Royale's First Hill location. I had been off the CR cakes for awhile as the last time I'd tried them, I found them dry. I'm pleased to report that Cupcake Royale's claim that their wares are now "moisty-er" is not just hype. Cupcake Royale v.2 really is supremely moist, topped with a layer of frosting that is delicious but not overpowering of the cupcake itself.

The First Hill venue is super-cute, with high ceilings and lots of white paint. No complaints about the service...not the staff's fault if there's a gaggle of emo teens ahead of me, torturing themselves over their cupcake choice. I favor CR's chocolate concoctions over the vanillas, but that's just my palate...Peppermint Patty and Salted Caramel are both divine, in my opinion. I could never turn down any version of the Coconut Bunny, and the Red Velvet led to my amazed realization that I really do like cream cheese frosting. Oh, and you really can taste the lavender buds in the Lavender's frosting.

Last week was actually the first week in a month that I didn't get Cupcake Royale cupcakes since the big birthday delivery. I hear that if you do something 21 days in a row it becomes habit, so I was just trying to stave off potential addiction. Otherwise, I totally would have been back again.

First off, let me explain how my review is on this confectionary pop scene.  I have just moved to Seattle from a tropical island where we have little choice in culinary treats.  For example, we have a scone bakery that has won the "best scones" category but the fact of the matter is that there are probably a total of two scone bakeries on the island.. and a cupcake store?   Unheard of!

On the island, I know a fish market the sells cupcakes and cookies on the side, but... not a cupcake store!

So moving to Seattle has made me fall in love with almost every store I walk into.. so different!  The cupcakes at the cupcake royale are a little treat for my oh so happy stomach.  I've had the mini  pumpkin spice ones as well as the mini chocolate with white frosting.  Today my boyfriend surprised me with a red velvet and chocolate cupcake.  Ohhhh..  so heavenly.. Prices are little expensive, but with all that love they pour into those damned little cakes, I almost could care less...

While I have only been to one cupcake store, I plan on reviewing plenty others.  For now, a part of my stomach is reserved for Cupcake Royale!

The selection here was so hard for me when I first entered Cupcake royale.

I was walking back from shopping and stumbled on this place and HAD to stop in.

They all looked so good, I couldn't decide on which one to get (but JUST one...)

I decided to get the lavender flavored one.  Not only were the cupcakes yummy, so was the guy who helped me (so cute)

He said the lavender flavored one was also his favorite, but usually the one customers are least likely to get because its not a traditional flavor.  Not only was the light purple colored frosting really eye popping, the taste was phenomenal.  It was slightly buttery and slightly sweet with just a hint of lavender, but not too powerful.  And the cupcake was a yellow cake that was really moist and good.

These were really gourmet cupcakes.  I've had Kara's cupcakes here in SF bay area, but they always taste to me like ones you could get at Safeway.  These were a treasure.

Unfortunately I came here when I was visiting Seattle and didn't get a chance to get another one.  I'll def come back when I'm back in town.

In SF - we talk and talk about cupcakes, ice cream and treats...
One ice cream is the Bi-Rite Salted Caramel (SFers know what I'm talking about)...
and here...they have a chocolate cupcake with salted caramel that makes my mouth water at the thought of it. Moist with Salty Sweet goodness...how can you go wrong?!
The decor had a fun feminine vibe with adorable pink chairs and white tables...make this cozy and fun place a great treat for any passer-by. Also packed...it clearly DOES have groupies...

Ok, I've had a grudge against Cupcake Royale since Trophy so fiercely claimed my heart (and stomach, that's the more important organ here). Went to the Yelp! party at their store opening and was utterly impressed by everything BUT the cupcakes themselves.

But I'm Asian so I use my coupons as they're dealt and I had yet to redeem my free cupcake so I sauntered in there yesterday for a little look-see. The salted caramel had choked me, anything pink was too be avoided in fear of death by sugar BUT It's harvest time as they so adorably announced!

That means PUMPKIN, CARAMEL APPLE, CARROT and more! So I greedily exchanged my rumpled coupon for two baby cakes of the pumpkin & caramel apple and oh my oh my, they were mucho better than I remembered. Little cute leaf-shaped sprinkles just about pried an "awww" out of me. A nice glass of milk washed it down nicely and I reveled in actually being able to sit inside a cupcake store (Trophy loses on that one) - you do good work, I won't let first impressions fool me again.

OK, y'all. I just ran a 5k, and I was thinking, 'Hmm, I could go for some cupcakes.' I sign in to Yelp instead, and notice someone gave the Cupcake Royale in my neighborhood one star.

Um, really?

Ever since CR came out with their new cake recipe, I enjoy them quite a bit. I won't judge whether they're better than the other big contenders - not better or worse, just a different taste. And a good one! So they easily qualify for fulfilling my cupcake fix.

Their different specials are always fun to try. I'm mourning that we no longer have the Huckleberry cupcakes; however, the Caramel Apple cupcakes are very cute with a tiny bit of popsicle stick sticking out the top. And tasty - especially if you get one with a bit of apple in it.

Now that I've shown Cupcake Royale some love, I think I'll celebrate a successful 5k... with some cupcakes!! Perhaps during cupcake happy hour later tonight, when I can get 6 cupcakes for the price of 3. =D

Such a chill place. Very nice atmosphere and cool painted furniture, excellent service, totally down to earth while still highly fashionable and stylish. The cupcakes are awesome, loaded with sweetness but not overly sugary... great flavors. Great coffee too(maybe not the best but I'm no snob). Very cool place to grab some eats and read a book, talk with friends, enjoy the eclectic music or just drop in for a quick bite.

And I really need to say it again, the service is just excellent. I'm sure I may have caught a break for whatever reason but the level of service blew me away.

If you aren't treated well here it's YOUR fault.

But that's not why you should go. You should go because they're cupcakes. I honestly can't think of a single reason to turn down cupcakes... and that's not because I lack imagination.

I walked to Cupcake Royale to test their new recipes "moistier" claim at their Cap Hill Pike street location. I figured if I walked there then the cupcake sugar consumption was less dangerous* Walking to eat cupcakes= less muffin top!

I tasted a Lavender Vanilla cupcake and a mini of their seasonal Huckleberry. Their "moistier" claim was true! and the vanilla cake itself was one of the best I have had- it was not a throwaway piece of the cupcake at all... you all know what I mean* The lavender frosting quickly became one of my favorite dessert flavors upon first bite- it might just be a personal preference though. The mini huckleberry tasted more like a dense blueberry muffin- it was OK- once again- maybe be personal preference.

The shop on Cap Hill is a lot cuter then their Ballard store(where I tried their previously dry cupcakes)- great decor and vibe- definitely a destination for coffee and dessert in a fun atmosphere.

The frosting amount on the cupcakes was just right and the cupcakes I tasted moist and flavor full... plus they had balance... score one for Cupcake Royale! and it's cute 2nd location!

FYI's~
*When I was on their website- I saw that the fall will bring Pumpkin and Candy Apple special varietals- yum! Can't wait to try them
*Open late!
*More than one mini cupcake variety offered

When I heard there was a new closer Cupcake Royale opening I went bonkers.  My husband and I have an on going battle to see who will discover the flavor of the month first... it is pretty intense. So anyway...

I love the new location, the old building, stained glass cupcake, and quieter atmosphere make it an entirely different experience than the other location.  This is also an exceptionally good place to bring tourists, believe it or not Seattle, but many places in the world do not have cupcake shops... awful I know.

These are the cupcakes I like best taste wise in the city, but that is an issue of great debate.  I will however emphasize that the cupcakes are bigger here and that on occasion there are special cupcake events.

Moreover, Cupcake Royale is big in the news right now, as they have a rather unique healthcare plan.  Here is a link the the NPR piece: http://www.npr.org/tem...
and one the the official Cupcake Royale blog: http://legalizefrostit...

If that isn't enough to make you want to "legalize frostitution" I don't know what is.

If a 3.5 was possible, I would've given it.

I loved the cupcakes! The selection's not the best in the evening after the post dinner rush. Would have liked to try the red velvet. The carrot cake with cream cheese frosting was awesome though. The peppermint cupcake (chocolate cake with peppermint buttercream) was alright - the frosting was much better than the choco cake. Both were very moist as promised on the packaging. Love the fact that they have mini cupcakes so you can try more than one flavor a little more guilt free (though again, selection was a bit lacking).

I erred on the 3 side since the guy at the counter could have been just a little more friendly...but that's ok -- maybe just an off day? I'll go back for sure to try more flavors!

First timer to this place.

Pros- Red Velvet Cupcake was to die for! The frosting was so whipped and delicious...the guy who rang me up was charming...Location is perfect...inside of the building is super cute!

Con- When approaching the cupcake "case" girl asked what I wanted to order. I said, "heard of you guys on Yelp (YUP I SAID IT) and wanted to give you guys a try. First time sooooo, what's yummy and what do you recommend?" She sighed and says, "Uhhh, ok, everything's good." Stares at me then I guess I took too long to say anything and she walked away.

Didn't go while it was busy. I was the only one in line. I've heard that the staff is great but she's the reason I give this place a 3.

Hate when you ask someone what they recommend (well duh they work there) and they either say everything or nothing.

I will give them a try again in the future. In the mean time, Trophy has my business.

I am a fan. Fan me now. Tell them I am a fan. HINT HINT they are goooood!
Sit down Sprinkles!! I was NOT talking to you!

Of all the cupcake places, this one won our hearts. They are original, they are decorated in pink and white, socially conscious, extremely down to earth and friendly and NO FROBOTS anywhere in sight! That would be no mechanized frosting machines here. Each cupcake is made with love and frosted by hand. You can taste the love I tell you!

We tried the salted caramel, huckleberry (flavor of the month) and the lavender rosemary. Each one is super moist and not overpowering.

We came here twice on our short four day trip to Seattle. After we left the bar one night, they were open! It must have been around 9 or 10 o'clock at least. We bought some, we bought T-shirts and well we showed them some love right back.

Before leaving, they were packing up all the leftover cupcakes and they then donate them to a charity/program. We really appreciated that about them. They gave us two cupcakes for free before they closed up shop. We were on the best sugar high ever, before going to some more bars that night.

So please, go become a fan, an addict, a promoter, and a regular at Cupcake Royal. A little love goes a long way.

So, these are OK.  I have purchased a happy hour six pack for friends and that is a good bargain.  My boyfriend likes the coconut.  Personally, I think they are a bit too soft and need like a pinch of salt.  There is something hearty and rugged missing from the cupcakes; the frosting is a bit too thick for the overly moist cake.  You Seattle guys need to get down to the midwest for real sweet treats.  Theres a reason why the bible belt buckle is the place where all the test restaurants go.  God's cupcake country, as I call it.

Oh my god, cupcake happy hour.

I was able to grab six varieties of cupcakes to go for 7.50. This place is officially the best ever! My family of three got to have cupcake treats to take home. It's like we all got a free cupcake!

Since my last visit I've gotten to taste the salted caramel, peppermint patty, triple threat, the Kate (white cake with buttercream,) and a couple of others I forget. Their chocolate cake base is by far moister and more like a traditional cake than the white cake, but I still prefer the white for being as dense as it is.

My favorite right now has to be the peppermint patty kind, its got that cool minty taste on a cupcake and it works so well. The salted caramel was OK, but not my favorite even though I did appreciate the different factor that goes into it.

Cupcake Royale opened another shop filled with their little bites of heaven on Capitol Hill! FINALLY is all I have to say! Now I have a reason to go running an extra three miles to stop at this location for a red velvet cupcake.

Like the other shops, they offer a fantastic cupcake that has cake that is perfectly moist and a great blend of flavors that is sure to please. The cream cheese frosting on the red velvet cake reminds me of those that my aunties and mother have made on numerous occasions that take me back to my childhood. Go with flavors that tickle your fancy and you will not be disappointed.

The staff at this particular location were extremely helpful and helped me figure out what types to get for a party that I was hosting. They went above and beyond to make sure that I got what I needed and made sure I had enough to go around!

Parking sucks, but let's face facts...its Capitol Hill!

The cupcakes are amazing! Moist, delicious, a little pricey but worth it! I bought one and a half dozen for my daughters birthday and cost $42.00. The place was really clean, but the staff was a little  pretentious. I'm not a Capital Hill Hipster so I could do without the silent treatment seeing as I was the only person in the store.

The cupcakes make the trip worth it. I will be back.

Yummy yummy cupcakes! I love that this place has seasonal cupcakes like pumpkin with maple frosting and caramel apple, but what's even cooler is that they name them things like "Royale with Cheese" and have reasonably prices mini versions. Plus, you know you've come to the right place when they serve (good) coffee to balance out all the sugar and butter.

What a treat it was for me! I was taking my friend here after his belated birthday dinner and had to finish it off with a birthday cupcake! I believe for a birthday treat, I think the cupcake is free?

Don't quote me on it, but really for the price and to top it off we made it for their happy hour! Buy three get three free?! WOW! It was amazing! Of course I had the red velvet and the birthday boy had the carrotcake and they were both sooooooooo good! Perfect combination of cupcake which was nice and moist when bitten into and the frosting wasn't too sweet!

Just the right place and time... to get a steamer and a lovely chocolate cupcake with pink buttercream.

Here's what I liked about Cupcake Royale:  The "Kate" (chocolate with pink frosting); seating; open late; friendly staff.  Dislikes: "The Classic"; lack of parking.

I've been twice in 10 days, both were after dinner... the first time I liked it more (better selection), but the second time they were running pretty low.

I think it's cute and trendy, definitely fits the hipsters in Capitol Hill and will in time die out and the masses will flock to another temporary addiction.

In the mean time, I will enjoy the delicious and somewhat unique flavors of cupcakes that Royale has to offer.... it's a small luxury that most people can afford in the rough economic climate at about $2.50 a piece.

Tried the Red Velvet, Berry and lemon drop... Tasty, moist and a great hit at home!

I'm a huge sugar-fiend, so I'm glad to FINALLY see some new dessert options popping up around the hill.  I've had three flavors of cupcakes so far (lemon, lavender, & huckleberry), and--as much as I hate to say it--they don't really live up to the hype.

Don't get me wrong, if you're craving a cupcake and you're on Capitol Hill, you're not going to do any better than Cupcake Royale.  That said, they're not life changing cupcakes--and you can certainly find cupcakes as good or better at other places around the city.  Also, the service can be oddly slow considering the lack of crowds here, particularly if you're ordering coffee.

Thankfully the "dark years" of Cupcake Royale are over.... you remember them, right?  Their cupcakes USED to taste like dog biscuits, were oh so dry and could practically be used as a weapon if you threw them at someone.  Then something (well, their recipe) changed and they came up with a new and improved way of making cupcakes that makes them moist and delectable!  A+ Cupcake Royale!

While their Red Velvet (my very favorite cake and cupcake in the world!) get a B.... maybe B-, everything else that comes from Cupcake Royale has been pretty darn good.  Their flavor of the month in July (Strawberry!) was divine.  Moist, slightly crumbly cake topped with a Strawberry frosting so light, refreshing yet heavy that had real Strawberries in it!  The crystals of sugar added a great little crunch to the cupcake that enhanced the texture immensely.  August's Raspberry and Lemonade is almost as good too!  The tangy, citrusy, creamy frosting goes quite well with the raspberry cake.  Yummy!

And best of all?!?  The coffee!  Always well made, rich and luscious.  Their foam was velvety and thick when I ordered a Mocha and they also do a kick @ss Iced Latte.  The baristas know what they're doing and additionally are insanely nice!  A+ for service!

Cupcake Royale gets an A+ for coming up with a better recipe that's moisty-er and fresher!  They listened to their customers and are striving to be the best they can be!  You don't see that so often these days and I'm so happy to see Cupcake Royale improving.  If you're in the hood I highly recommend you check them out!

Visited Cupcake Royale on Capitol Hill yesterday for the first time. It was a little past 1 and was surprised to see a relatively empty store front. Perhaps people just like to take their cupcakes to go or maybe it was because this is probably the last good weekend for the rest of year. Anyways, they have a lot of cupcake variety here. I counted at least 10 selections which is more than Trophy offers daily.

Since I was about to get a bigger bite soon, I decided that I wanted a mini cupcake. The only one offered was the Blue Mountain Huckleberry. At $1.35 for one, this seemed to be a tad bit pricey for one bite. I got a cup of coffee to complement. I thought this was Verite Coffee, but according to the website this was actually Stumptown's finest.

The results of my visit was that I was disappointed by both selections. The frosting on the Huckleberry was actually surprisingly light tasting which was good, but the cake part was dry. The coffee was not very good either. It was sour and acidic which I did not like.

While cupcakes and coffee were not good, I did like the interiors at CR and wonder why it was not as populated. Well if they made the cupcakes moister, I think there would be reason for another visit. I will see how future Yelp posts rate CR in determining this.

OMG. Oh.    My.    Gaaawwd.  I had multiple mouthgasms when I did the Yelp exclusive pre-opening and I haven't recovered since. The staff are really fun, they make a very sexy design on the espresso foam, and the chocolate mint cupcake and white strawberry ones are the bestest. I will say one downer, who the heck would ever eat those nasty salted caramel ones? Barf. (OK, there are a few people, like my sister.) I also have fallen in love with the Lavendar frosted vanilla cakes. Mmmm mm good.

I do so very much love going to the new Cupcake Royale for my cravings though. See you later, sweetie!

I popped in a Thursday night with some friends to get some cupcakes to take home. The boy working the counter was incredibly nice and friendly. There was no line, unless you count the 2 kids (about 7) in front of me that were asking the staff a million questions about cupcakes. All of which were answered polietly and I got that knowing "I'm sorry, just a minute" look while I was waiting behind them.

I got the salted caramel cupcakes and it was delicious. They're the only flavor I've ever had from here, but I'm ok with that. The cupcakes are a bit pricey for me, but since it's not something I'd do very often it was perfect.

I have always been a fan of Cupcake Royale and finally went in to the new store.  I kind of had to, wanted to... I work for the company that made the lamp and the stained glass & I wanted to see the set up.
Each store has it's own baker.  This one needs to improve on their skills.  I love lavender and that was the one I tried...but after every bite, it left me wanting..........to taste the lavender...it wasn't there.  So don't worry, you won't fart lavender after eating it.  My friend had the monthly one and was wonderting the same thing....where's the raspberry lemonade?  I am still a fan, the place is "cute" and I will still go back and try again.  Also, don't forget to visit The Crypt while you are in the area!!

Did you get the memo? You know, the one about the dessert explosion on Capitol Hill? Don't worry, I didn't get it either. It must be with my TPS cover sheet. Regardless, it's hard not to notice that the dessert places are popping up left and right on the Hill. The latest in the bunch is Cupcake Royale, with new "moistier" cupcakes. Yes, some of them are more moist, but I find the textures are inconsistent among the flavors.

Over the past few weeks I've had the good fortune to try a variety of cupcakes. One of my current favorites is the raspberry lemonade. Tart berries are balanced out by a not-too-sweet lemonade frosting, and the cupcake texture is indeed moist. I've also enjoyed the coconut cupcake - same vanilla cake with a thatch of coconut. Then there's the yummy carrot cake: pleasantly spiced, and richly textured with walnut chunks and carrot slivers. The cream cheese frosting could be a little creamier for my taste (it's supposed to be "cream" cheese, right?), but the carrot cake itself is moist and delicious. The carrot cake is my winner at Cupcake Royale.

I've been less impressed with the chocolate and red velvet cupcakes. It may have something to do with the recipe for the cocoa-inclusive cupcakes. The chocolate cake is dry and too crumbly for my liking, and I'm not a big fan of the too-fudgy frosting. The red velvet is crumbly as well, and the cream cheese frosting doesn't save this one either (see "carrot cake" above).

The shop is clean, modern and airy, and the location is great. I won't turn down a treat from Cupcake Royale, but it will be in rotation with the other dessert options on the Hill.

Went here today for Breakfast, yeah bitches I said Breakfast !!

I had too try the salted Caramel, and it didn't let me down it was just as good as I was told it would be, and I also got a Orange Cream Soda to wash it down with, the soda they have has real sugar in it no HFCS for this shop, or me if I can help it

I really like the layout of this shop it has a good feel to it, it  is soft and warm it makes you want to sit down and stay a while

was kinda cool they were making a bunch of.... or should I say frosting a bunch of fresh cup cakes when I was there, so you know the cup cake I got was fresh and moist, and the frost was oh so creamy

Cupcakes are okay. More moisture in the cake would be better. Red velvet was great. I wanted to love the lavender and the salted caramel, but the cake was a little dry. Still, gotta love the flavors!

I came back here after the opening.  We tried the new monthly flavor, Raspberry Lemonade.  But . . . where was the raspberry?  :(  Lots of lemon, but that's about it.

If you like denser cakes, you'll like these.  If only Trophy and Cupcake Royale could get together and make a nice dense, flavorful and moist cupcake that doesn't fall apart.

CR has a nice selection of flavors that are available each day, unlike Trophy.  I like that there are several cupcakes I can count on liking here.

This is a newer location, and I'm not crazy about the surroundings.  The service was ok, nothing spectacular.  Nice large seating area for small or large groups.

I will come again, but it's not full-on love.

Excerpted from my Yelp Seattle Cupcake Crawl write-up:

"Their "moisty-er" cupcakes are indeed new-and-improved! Frankly, I'm relieved I can finally stop lambasting them to everyone as being dry and awful. The Obama-inspired Salted Caramel was great, as was the monthly special Raspberry Lemonade with berry filling! The Classic babycake was unfortunately denser than is full-size brethren, and while the vanilla cake was uninteresting-as-expected, the frosting was incredibly chocolaty."

Most of their other flavors sound very boring, and no, adding food coloring to your frosting does not count as a separate flavor.

Oh my! I am now a cupcake fan :).

I've heard about the cupcake craze for awhile but I never really got the gist of it all until now. My coworker brought me a Red Velvet cupcake from this place...and wow was I impressed. This cupcake instantly put a smile on my face.

The cake itself was moist and tasty. The cream cheese frosting was sweet and good. The overall presentation of the cupcake was great too. It looked appetizing from the start.

I can't wait for the chance to try the other cupcakes from this place.

Ahh how sweet it is to have such a heavenly treat :)

P.S I've only given this place four stars since I haven't tried the other flavors yet nor have I actually stepped inside the shop....but I feel like this place will soon be upped to 5 stars :)
