One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
This place is amazing. Wait a sec. Let's review where I'm coming from. In Indiana frozen yogurt was a way for people, mostly women, to indulge their ice cream fantasies without taking the fat hits. Fast forward to WallE. I can't tell you the last time I even saw a frozen yogurt place. A Colombo sign? Maybe?
Culture is completely different. First, there is a commitment like you've never seen to quality here. When was the last time you heard of a frozen yogurt place going to the farmer's market for fresh fruit toppings? It sounds crazy, but it's really the fact that you can't compare this to a frozen yogurt shop of the past. Frozen Kefir! Organic yogurt and toppings. And it is not overly sweet airfood like most other soft serv fluff you've had before.
Honestly, I came with my wife. But the extreme attention to detail and quality woke me up. This is not a diet shop, though it's quite healthy. It's not a frozen yogurt shop, if you've ever been to one--though it has frozen yogurt. This is something unique.
Don't expect it to be cheap. Quality is not cheap. It's that simple. And if you don't like to support people who bring you high quality products because you'd rather get second best, this place may not be for you. Unfortunately for you, second best is way the hell down there.
And do we have to call it froyo?
Stay away from the Yowich! Intrigued by the concept, two of my friends ordered the Yowich, expecting that they would receive freshly dispensed froyo in between two just-baked chocolate chip cookies. We were all shocked when they were handed ready-made Yowich packages straight from the freezer. The cookies were stale, and the froyo in between tasted icy and processed. Who knows how long those Yowiches had been frozen? Especially if you are used to the melty sweet goodness of the ice cream sandwiches at Diddy Riese in southern California, don't expect the Yowich at Culture to satisfy you.
It's a good thing I'm lactose intolerant, and I only ordered a chocolate chip cookie, which was pleasantly crispy with high-quality chocolate chips to boot.
On the bright side, the ambience of this place is clean and trendy, with flattering lighting.
We only went here because we just had Homma's (see my review) and were craving dessert. Compared to Fraiche, this place blows. We sampled the tangerine flavor, which was subtle and uninteresting. We ended up going with a Original Tart and took advantage of the yelp special - one free topping!
Unfortunately, their topping selection is quite limited. They don't have any fresh fruit (unacceptable). I guess their specialty is "baked goods", which I have zero interest in. Yet another letdown - "Pomegranate" was listed on their toppings list, but they actually meant the syrup. eww. The tart was not tart enough, and was super icy. We got a brownie topping, which was also just meh. I was quite disappointed in the selection and in the experience as a whole. To add insult to injury, this place is expensive!! Drive a few more miles and go to Fraiche.
Ok, embarrassing admission: I'm a yogurt snob. I really am. It all started because I came from LA. Where we had the first PinkBerry in West Hollywood and lines around the block. Then came Red Mango and all the fro-yo proprietary drama. I paid through the nose. I waited in lines. I savored the intricate detailed differences between PinkBerry and Red Mango. So, when I first moved up north, I started shopping around for a replacement. I tried Culture's original flavor and, honestly, despite all the organic and green leanings, it was just not right somehow. It didn't measure up.
But that was before PUMPKIN showed up. And then, EGGNOG. This rating is for their special flavors only, which deserve their own personal review. Heck, I'd give them their own personal parade if I could. Yeah, it is expensive. BUT IT IS THE BEST FLAVORED YOGURT YOU WILL EVER HAVE.
Go in, get a small seasonal flavor without toppings. Savor it.
The only reason this place isn't 5 stars in my book is the price. Compared to other froyo joints, this really should be classified as "$$" or "$$$" instead of "$"... the smallest size is $3.99, and that doesn't even include any toppings. Each topping is $0.99 and up -- the fruit and in-house-made toppings are around $1.50 each, if I remember correctly.
Anyway, if the price doesn't deter you, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with Culture. The 3 standard flavors are original (lightly tart; delightful!), vanilla (not tart, just sweet), and chocolate. They also occasionally have seasonal flavors, like pumpkin.
The special thing about this place is that the toppings are also organic -- this is what sets it apart from other froyo places. At least in December, there are only a few choices of fresh fruit, but there are more types of dried fruit than at other places.
I like frozen yogurt, but this place was gross. Clean, yes. Cool decor, uh huh. Oganic, that's cool. Tasty...absolutely not. Sorry.
Pros:
+ Everything is organic, from the yogurt to the toppings. Organic toppings are unusual.
+ Store is very eco-friendly (compostable spoons and containers, metal tasting spoons, etc.).
+ Plain tart yogurt is very tasty, especially with fruit toppings.
+ The shop is beautiful and a pleasant place to sit and enjoy your frozen dessert.
Cons:
- Spendy! Yes, I know you pay more for organic, but it's hugely expensive. My medium yogurt with fruit toppings was $9 and change (hubby paid and is still reeling from the prices!).
- The flavored yogurts were not to my taste. They tasted "real." For instance, vanilla tasted like *actual* vanilla bean extract, chocolate tasted unlike any chocolate yogurt I've had (more natural), etc., but it didn't mean I wanted to eat them.
- The compostable corn spoons really messed with the fro-yo flavor for me. I asked for a metal spoon, and that fixed the problem.
This place has awesome yogurt. They had a bit of a rocky start when they first opened, I remember my nieces school newspaper had a pretty bad review in it. They worked out the kinks, i guess, because this is my favorite yogurt place out of all of the ones around Palo Alto.
My favorite part is getting the daily crisps as a topping- they vary from freshly baked fruit crisps, to chocolate hazelnut, to fruit-hazelnut- sometimes less traditional flavors like strawberry-banana and pumpkin pie.
The yogurt tastes especially freshly cultured, and organic. Although the prices are high, you can pick up a card that after being stamped 9 times you get a 10th medium yogurt with toppings for free. I didn't think i would end up buying 10 yogurts at Culture, but it turned out to be easier than i thought.
Went again to Culture for some froyo. They raised their prices since the last time I visited.
A Small 4oz is $3.99 - used to be $2.99
The 4 flavors they had Sat 10/10/09:
Original
Pumpkin
Vanilla
Chocolate
I sampled the pumpkin. It does taste like pumpkin. I like the color more than the taste. Then I bought a small pumpkin. B. got small vanilla w/ organic homemade graham crackers.
Didn't know they had a special: Mention Yelp and get 1 topping FREE thru 10/31/09! So not fair for me!
Credit cards taken.
One unisex bathroom in the back - need a key. They have words placed on the walls!

My boyfriend and I loveD this place.. natural frozen with pistachio brittle.. it was AMAZING! we would go at least once a week. But the last 4 times we tried, the pistachio brittle was burnt and we mentioned it every time to those working. Our last time in we were told that it was supposed to be made this way. DISGUSTING!
Can we please change the brittle back?
Like everyone else who writes reviews of froyo shops, I'm a yogurt junkie. This is the most disappointing place on the Peninsula. Small yogurt was TRULY small -- can you say three bites and it's over? -- and the texture was grainy. I've been just about everywhere from Burlingame to Palo Alto, consuming froyo multiple times a week, and this place doesn't measure up. Save your money. Sorry, Culture!
Alright. This place is too fricking expensive. I love the toppings but I've decided I can't pay over $6 for yogurt + 2 toppings. And the Yo'wich is really not that great of a deal -- $4.50 and the yogurt squishes all out by your third bite.
Plus, I've kind of fallen in love with the chocolate yogurt at Fraiche.
I love that there are no lines at Culture and plenty of seating but there's a reason for it...

Another one that I really need to update after my return visit last week.
I have to knock it down a star because I can't get over how expensive their yogurt is for the size you get. I ordered a small original, and it was $3.99, and the cup was tiny. Also, the yogurt was grainy/icy and not smooth enough for my taste.
The redeeming factor and why I didn't drop another star? The seating inside is comfortable, and they didn't kick me out when I had finished my yogurt and started using my computer while on the network from Starbucks across the street.
Overall, though, I won't be returning for their frozen yogurt anytime soon.

Fro-yo girl here. I'm inspired to update my Culture review (yet again) to tell you about their new items.
They now offer frozen kefir! Blueberry frozen kefir. They're the first shop in the Bay Area to offer frozen kefir. It tasted like fro-yo but sweeter and less sour than their fro-yo varieties. It was on the icy side. The flavor was natural and clean.
They now offer Yo'Wiches (fro-yo sandwiches)! The sandwiches are pre-made, $4.49 each, and come in two varieties: Chocolate cookies w/ chocolate fro-yo and Gingersnap cookies w/ vanilla fro-yo. The cookies are baked in house by a very talented baker, Mary. I had the gingersnap yo'wich. The cookie is quite soft and spicy. The fro-yo is rather icy, sour and without much vanilla flavor. I think the gingersnap is a good choice for a tart fro-yo but a sweeter, creamier fro-yo would work better. Maybe a lemon cookie would also work well with a tart fro-yo.
They now offer build your own fro-yo shakes! You can add malt to the mix for a malted fro-yo shake.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

The yogurt here is perfectly tart and icy, and I LOVE the all natural house-made toppings, but I do agree with other reviewers that the prices make me say ouch just a little. And yet I'm a big fan of paying for what food is really worth, and I have no doubt that the quality here is worth the bucks. However, the prices do make it a bit of a luxury.
I'm a huge fan of their crunchy coconut topping on plain tart yogurt.
YUM!
The yogurt tastes good, the spot is clean and sparkling, but the prices are too high. It ruins the experience as you walk out the door!
Eck. I had higher expectation for Culture since people have actually recommended this place but I am quite disappointed. The "original" tart flavor taste funky. NOT organic or freshly made but just plain gross. When the server gave me a sample, my initial facial reaction said it all. And then I tried the chocolate flavor and that one was over-ly sweet. So being logical, I got the mixture of the original and chocolate. After half completion of the small size, I just couldn't finish it. That's how bland the flavor was.
Give it a try yourself, but honestly there are alot better froyo places on University thats worth your money.
I'm not sure people understand what goes into truly organic real frozen yogurt. This yogurt is actually made from organic milk. People do you actually think that Red Mango, and Pinkberry are real. Well then wake up and smell the coffee. It's not. It comes from a powder. Culture's yogurt comes from real organic milk. Strauss to be exact. Go ahead eat all the nonfat powdered FRO-YO you want. And kill yourself doing it.
The other thing is the toppings. I don't see the owners of the other fro-yo shops in down shopping at the local farmers markets to get their seasonal/local produce like I do the owners of Culture do every Sunday on Cal. Ave.
So what everyone is saying is, you'd rather have them shop at Costco and get some sort of industrial food stuffs and use that as your toppings? So we can all save a few $$$. I'd rather eat a few less pints a in a year, but eat the best, then to stuff my gullet on some unknown food product that I'd be getting somewhere else.
BTW, where else can you get a Flaxseed cone, high in omega 3's to go with your fro-yo.
I'm done.

Sweet Deal Alert...
It seems they finally have their web site up and running, and offer coupons - Buy 1 medium, get 2nd half off, or buy 2 medium, get 3rd one for free. Sweet... this makes it quite affordable, and heck, given the quantities I'm consuming by now, I definitely need that kind of a break!
My current favorite: Medium Original, with Coconut-Crunch and Strawberries. Careful - addictive! ;-)

Expensive for what you get!
As for the toppings they only give you a little.
The "original" tart flavor tasted weird.
I got a small yogurt with one topping turned out to be $5 +.
Wouldn't go back =/ had better yogurt. Decor is nice though.
I've been finding myself around California Ave a lot more frequently and I've been itching for some froyo so I decided to grab some Culture before a meeting down the street.
I went in to try their latest creation: Pineapple+Orange+Mango. It was pretty good, well good enough for me to get a small with it side by side w/ original. I've grown use to the fact that Culture has an "icier" yogurt as opposed to the creamier variety I prefer. Oh well.
I think the yogurt quality and price brings it down to 3 stars (4 bucks for a small with no toppings), but the people who serve are just so nice. 4 stars.

Thick, smooth froyo that tastes almost like a creamy ice cream than the usual icy, tart froyo that you can find at Pinkberry - I like this change! I feel like I'm eating actual yogurt that is cold and great for a summery day. I tried the strawberry flavored frozen yogurt here - it was sweet and slightly tart, smooth, and delicious. I didn't get any toppings, but the fact that you can get chocolate chip cookie sandwiches with froyo in the middle, or giant chunks of homemade brownies, or a bunch of other toppings, is great - I am too used to seeing the normal crushed candy, cereal, and diced fruit toppings that most froyo places offer.
A definite hit and a change from the usual chain froyo places!
My favorite yogurt place up here.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! Especially now - I love the "Pumpkin is Here!" sign. The pumpkin is so good. I wish it was a standard flavor. The homemade organic toppings are amazing, especially the brownies and the crisps. Yum!
Located on California Street, across from Starbucks Coffee. The décor is clean, simple and to the point. Minimal outdoor sitting chairs but lots of bouncy/softy stalls to site inside. Went there 4 times already and each time the staff were very friendly and helpful. 3 standard flavors - Vanilla, regular & chocolate and one seasonal - currently Peach/Strawberry and Banana.
I love their organic toppings - toasted coconuts, toasted pumpkins, chocolate Meringue & organic chocolate chips bits. Fresh fruits were also tasty but I couldn't taste the difference between organic or regular (Mango & strawberry).
It's a bit on the pricy sides (due to its organic), but we do love their used silver spoons and recyclable containers. I also like how they are not too stingy about the amount of toppings. (I do noticed they weight their yogurt) Yogurt's flavor are mild to my taste and not as sugary as Red Mango (which I like) but Cheffy just loves this place and would rather come here than Red Mango.
Pick up a frequent buyers card if you plan to go back frequently. I give a combination of 4 starts for both me & Cheffy.
My review is honored with a review of the day (ROTD) in the Penninsula!
I think my bowl fro-yo taste even better now!

Not as tart as some places but good with a lot of fresh and organic toppings to choose from. I shared a small plain with strawberries and gingersnap granola. The granola was really just broken up gingersnaps and it was good but the texture was not what I was expecting.
I want to try one of the froyo sandwiches I read about in another review. If it stays hot, I may have to go tomorrow.
This is a review by a vegetarian
Same minimalist decor as the San Carlos Red Mango but without the flat screens. Very, Very pricey. The word "organic" is prefixed to everything. (BTW, it's a very clean "organic" bathroom but you must get the key from the staff) Though two people can split the special of $5.69+tax for a 6oz medium with two toppings.
If you're not pregnant and explicitly craving frozen yogurt, walk down the street to the nearly expensive Mollie Stone's and buy a pint of ice cream or an up-market chocolate bar.
Walking into Culture is like walking into a grad school architecture project. Clean lines and postmodernist minimalism everywhere the eye can see. The funky, cushy cubes that you sit on are pretty darn cool - not the comfy, cozy atmosphere you might expect in an old-fashioned ice-cream store. But then again, this is fro-yo.
One thing is for sure - this is healthy tasting yogurt, frozen. You know, the kind you never buy cuz the one with all the sugary fruit filling tastes so much better...
I got a chocolate single with nuts on it. The chocolate was acidic - almost like it was made from citrus fruits. So that was unexpected. But it was good. After the initial shock of the taste, I found myself finishing it and thinking that I would try it again, perhaps with vanilla and honey next time. The people watching was good, and the staff was very kind. I will be back.
Really pricey - $6 for a medium. It's thick and creamy and they have lots of unique types of toppings like organic coconut, which I consider to be completely unexpected.
Lots of fresh fruit to choose from, which always tastes great with frozen yogurt.
I had the small original tart w/ mango + strawberry. I liked it, but nothing particularly mind blowing. I'm not really a froyo snot, so I'm pretty much a happy camper if it's not disgusting haha. Although I was particularly impressed with Fraiche, so they win over this place for organic froyo in PA.
If you're looking for non-tart flavors, this place has vanilla, strawberry, & chocolate. I tried the strawberry and I wasn't a fan. But that doesn't say much because 1) I'm a original tart girl and 2) I don't like strawberry ice cream (but I do like strawberry yogurt... so now this doesn't make any sense but whatever. That was my 2 cents!)
I know I should stop whining about how I don't get the whole fro-yo crazy and just keep my mouth shut. But i really am trying to understand the craze while on a personal quest for healthy, sweet-tooth appealing treats.
I found my visit to Culture off-putting I don't know my way around fro-yo shops very well and need some help in navigating. Their attitude was not very helpful. Several toppings I asked for weren't in season. "You idiot! Don't you realize that mangoes, strawberries and other berries are out of season?!" is how the attendants came across. "How about dried fruit or a wide variety of crumpled up cookies and such?"
After a long struggle, I ended up with bananas and granola. (Aren't bananas just as much out of season as mangoes and strawberries? Someone needs to tell Trader Joe's about this.) A dollar a topping on top of $3 for a small seemed a bit pricey to me especially in comparison to my neighborhood Harmony.
I can't speak much to the consistency or tartness of one shop's yogurt to another, only about the overall experience. I should just stick to Harmony.
When I see the word organic I think of so many things
- whole foods
- unshaven pubes
- live strong bracelets
But often times, organic seems synonymous with the word "tasteless." But was this the case with Culture?
Like most yogurt places, culture has this whole...modern/not-quite design within reach aesthetic. It's nice compared to most places but it still felt very cookie cutter.
When I got there, there were only 3 flavors: tangerine, chocolate and original. I sampled all of them.
Chocolate: like most "healthy" chocolate, the chocolatey-ness wasn't strong enough. It tasted like chocolate flavored vitamins. BOO!
Original: The original was tarty but it had some weird funky aspect. Maybe it's "them chemicals" to make it healthier. Nonetheless, i didn't like it.
Tangerine: There was a bit of hope with this. It had a nice flavor but again, VERY DILUTED! Have you ever had orange soda that was sitting in a cup of ice for several minutes, and after it melts, you get this diluted orange water, underneath the melted ice? This was basically the same concept.
However! The toppings were rather interesting. Lots of nuts, dried fruits and healthy stuff, but they also had basic fruits. Good selection but I wonder if they just bought a bag of crap from trader joes and sold it as "toppings." In that case, someone should really make a Ferrero Rocher topping ;)
I chose the dried raspberries. One topping cost 90 cents. I do not approve of paying per topping. It's stupid. Anyways, the raspberries were pretty tasty and tasted like candy. However, because they put so little yogurt, and I had a fistful of raspberries left over which after awhile, became too sweet and over powered the yogurt.
Overall, I think the whole "organic" thing is bullshit and it just gives this place a reason to overprice everything.
I give Culture Organic Frozen Yogurt a solid 3 out of 5.
Not bad - super crunchy kind of yogurt. Tastes a lot like natural yogurt, not very sweet. Toppings are unique - such as roasted pistachio. Not bad for when you want a healthy pick me up (vs. spoil-yourself-dessert-and-try-not-to-feel-guilty about it kind of froyo). A bit on the expensive side but it's still a small ticket item so aint gonna dent wallet that much.
I dropped by Culture after hearing from froyo girl about this place. It lives up to her high ratings; personally, I tend to prefer a more icy froyo (think Clear Optometry in San Mateo), but Culture is the best of both worlds: creamy, icy, not too sweet, and really smooth, with varied, fresh toppings.
One of the best parts is that they have seasonal variations. For example, they are currently serving tangerine tart froyo. At first I thought it sounded a bit weird, but upon sampling, it is the best flavored tart yogurt I've ever had. They use real fruit, but, critically, not TOO much. It has the flavor of tangerine without being super sweet or overbearing. The secret to making such things work correctly is to not overpower the base flavor of the tart yogurt. SO many places do this wrong. Culture does it right.
Additionally, Culture's toppings are varied and unique in the froyo genre. Where else have you had almond brittle w/ fleur de sel in froyo? They also sport all organic fruit toppings.
I love this place and will be a regular.
This is actually my very first Yelp review, and I'm procrastinating on writing a bunch of reviews, but I felt compelled to share some comments on Culture Organic Frozen Yogurt.
For those who know me, I have been huge on food that is organic, all natural, and when possible locally produced with seasonal products. I was reading a book over dinner at a cafe down the street, and my sweet tooth was buggin'. I look up and I see this brightly-lit and colorful place. I walked in and though I was the only customer, possibly because of the cold weather, I was warmly greeted by the employee. He was personable and attentive, and politely offered samples of any of their offerings. I find some places usually allow one or two samples. He was very generous.
My favorite fro-yo place is currently Pinkberry, but this place seemed to be more unique because of all of their organic ingredients and toppings. From various types of granolas to honey-glazed pumpkin seeds, this place would definitely tantalize the palette of the most food-conscious. I was enticed by their mini Choco Meringues and pistachio brittle. The tartness, sweetness, and creaminess of their plain yogurt was well-balanced. They even had a yummy seasonal tangerine yogurt.
I also liked that they are open until 10pm from Tuesday through Saturday. Make sure to ask for a frequent customer punch card - 12 stamps gets you a free yogurt and topping. I will definitely stop by again when I am in the area.
I had a bad experience with my first visit to Culture but I liked the sour taste of their yogurt, so I decided to go back. Palo Alto is a tough crowd to please since there is so much action there.
One of the great things about Culture is that it is truly unique. From the distinct flavor of the yogurts to the hand made organic toppings, Culture has differentiated itself.
The flavor of the yogurt does tend to polarize people. You either love it or hate it. My son threw his vanilla with chocolate meringues away because he did not like it at all. I like the strong sour flavor, but would not want that every day.
I was served a tiny portion on my first visit which made the yogurt extremely expensive, but upon my return the portion size was much better.
I have tried their homemade caramel sauce which tasted remotely like caramel, but not really. Again, the caramel was interesting, not sweet, but not like anything I had tasted before. I won't try that again.
Culture is two sigmas away from the mean and perhaps if they were more moderate and less "organic" purist then they might attract a larger fan base.

*Mini-update: We went AGAIN this morning because yesterday's fro-yo was so good. This is the first fro-yo place that has ever made me go "MMMMmmmmm......" like you'd go for a delicious piece of cake. Their topping selection is HUGE and changes daily. The perfect combo is Froyo+dry topping+sauce topping. You couldn't convince me of a better froyo place unless they can also give me a froyo combo that tastes like healthy BLACK FOREST CAKE (deep chocolate froyo+homemade cherry cobbler+marshmallow topping).
That should be required tasting.
Culture has the best fro-yo I've ever tasted. I consider myself a fro-yo connoisseur, and make sure to try every fro-yo place I come across.
My boyfriend and I shared the tangerine yogurt with fresh mangoes and organic homemade MARSHMALLOW cream... Mmmm.... the yogurt was tangy, smooth, and not too sweet, with the creamy richness that you only get when the froyo is made from real yogurt instead of powder. The marshmallow cream topping was amazing with the tart yogurt and mangoes, mellowing out the tanginess while spiking up the sweet and making the whole cup extra rich and creamy. That was the best combination I've ever had at a froyo place.
Speaking of toppings, all their toppings were local and organic, and a lot were made in-house. They had a lot of toppings that I haven't seen anywhere else, like Blueberry cobbler, cooked apples, dried figs and bananas, chocolate meringue, honey, marshmallow cream, even flaxseed waffle cones. Their selection was huge, and yes they did have 4 kinds of fresh fruit. Their yogurt is real, local, organic, and kosher, not made with powder like the majority of froyo places around.
I was also impressed with the decor, which is gorgeous and bamboo and recycled. Everything was minimalist and eco-friendly, down to our compostable spoons and recycled paper cups.
I can't rave about them enough... And if you can't stand the tart, slap some marshmallow cream on top.
Yes, it's expensive. But it's REAL FOOD (made with organic Straus yogurt), not the processed junk you get at Pinkberry or 99% of the other fro yo places in the Bay Area. I'm happy to pay more for something tasty that will actually nourish my body.
If you don't care about quality, and want something like Pinkberry or Red Mango, then don't bother going here. It costs more. But if you care about what you put into your body (or your kid's), and you want to feel good after eating it, then definitely go...often! It's fabulous.
FYI, these ingredients are in Pinkberry's stuff (taken from their website): fructose, dextrose, natural and artificial flavors, citric acid, guar gum, maltodextrin, mono-and diglycerides, lactoglycerides, propylene glycol esters, rice starch, silicon dioxide (anticaking).
And this is from Red Mango's website: Nonfat Dry Milk, Natural Flavors, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Citrate, Citric Acid, Guar Gum, Food Starch, Carrageenan, Pectin.
That stuff isn't in Culture's yogurt.
I have not yet decided if I like frozen yogurt. However, I bought the culture bowl. This gives me a small discount on my almost weekly trip. I enjoy any of the yogurts with banana and another organic topping. I still haven't tried the crisps, but it looks so good. I think I am becoming a fan.
TART! Or is it sour?? Anyway... this isn't what I expected from froyo ever.
They offer 2 flavors (original and chocolate) and then their seasonal flavor (which happened to be tangerine). I tried all 3 and liked the original and chocolate the best. The tangerine was kind of light in flavor and super sour.
ALL of their froyo is SOUR. So be prepared. Don't expect creaminess or sugar of any sort unless you get some of their amazing toppings.
TOPPINGGGSS!! Oh my goodness. Their toppings are what make them amazing. Not to mention their entire organic and biodegradable stuff... BROWNIES soooo tasty as a topping. If I could get those brownies or chocolate chip cookies or ANY of their toppings on a Red Mango froyo, I'd be super content. That would be the BEST froyo place EVER.
Normally, I don't like chocolate, but I could tolerate the chocolate froyo here since it was so sour/tart. Made it a bit easier to handle and felt much healthier.
A small ($2.99) is about the size of a medium at Red Mango and they are generous with their toppings. My two little cousins didn't seem to like it so much because the yogurt was just too sour for them. It's definitely something you'll have to get used to, but I wouldn't bring kids here.
Come here for the amazing toppings and green attitude. Seating area is also super cute.
