I've lived in midtown for what seems to be forever and I finally got my act together and made it into Cuffs this weekend. All I have to say about this place is "GOD DAMN YOU CUFFS AND YOUR CUTE CLOTHES!" seriously. I was looking for a dress to wear to a wedding this summer. Not only did I find what I was looking for, I managed to get another dress and a top also. It was difficult for me to show some restraint, but I managed to get out of the store before I bought an obscene amount of clothing and accessories. I feel a love/hate relationship with this place coming on. Love for all the aforementioned reasons...Hate because it's seriously 6 blocks from my house (well, that could be a Love quality also.)

Cuffs is rad.
They carry great new clothing and accessories as well as some sweet vintage/thrift finds. They also carry some vintage pieces that have been redesigned by Cuffs owner Lacadia Olsen.
Lacadia is probably my favorite designer in Sacramento- and that is saying a lot. There are many talented designers in our city and I think what makes Lacadia's reimagined/redesigned vintage clothing great is that her clothing is very accessible.
PS for dudes they have a vintage/thrift rack with short and long sleeve button up shirts and they have lots of spring/summer jackets.
Oh yeah, and they have cool Sunglasses.

This is gonna be one of my favorite stores. Good mesh of vintage and new. They've got the cute dresses, the cute tops - they really have their sh*t together. They know what vintage pieces to buy - it's not just a gobblygook of random stuff that no one in their right mind will buy or wear. I finally scored the perfect knee-high black leather boots I've been trying to find all last winter!! They're vintage (ok, used), so they need a bit of heel work done, but I still love them!

Great selection for the ladies, but it's kind of slim pickins for the boys. I won't hold that against the very nice folks at cuffs. That's just kind of how it goes with clothing in general. My very tall girl pal was able to find several things she loved in about two point five seconds. Prices are not too obscene, either.

I had high hopes for this place because of the good reviews, but the girl said that the Louis Vuitton bags I brought there wasn't what she had in mind. So I asked if the regular mongram type was more of what she was thinking and whether she'd like to see the rest of them I had. She just simply said no. The shop was small and cute though.

this is truly a sacramento gem! amazing finds. totally reasonable prices. vintage treasures mixed with new and original one-of a kind finds and urban street wear, plus plenty of local designer goods... and super friendly shopgirls!
in my careful attempts to consistently avoid any mall contact, this charming shop provides me with all sorts of goods that keep me in my neighborhood supporting local business.

Cuffs is always stocked with a mix of cool thrift store finds (in really good condition) and local designers...it's the best way to get a new clothes fix without spending a ton of money...
I got my favorite gold belt for $7 and this weekend I found a Pretty Trashy sweater with a clock screened on it for $22 and a small gray purse for $10.
Along with one-of-a-kind clothes you can get that warm fuzzy feeling that comes with supporting local business.

I've long eschewed the downtown urban-boutique sprawl. I owe my scorn to the indie shopkeepers' ludicrous asking prices for ratty "mod" poly-cotton consignments and silk-screened tees paying thematic homage to vestiges of the '80s we were SUPPOSED to forget.
But Cuffs boasts something different from its J Street neighbors: friendly, unpretentious mom 'n pop ownership.
I joined a friend's band for an impromptu show so as to fill in for an estranged DJ and set September's lackluster Second Saturday gears into motion. The band snared free publicity for Cuffs with the chance attendance of a 50-strong pedestrian audience bearing video cameras, cheap wine and tip money.
Cuffs' owners recompensed us for the show's subsequent torrent of eager customers by extending a hefty 30% employee discount, with which I landed a sweet ringer tee stenciled with a monochrome image of the Unabomber in 3D shades.
Betcha can't thrift THAT out of your local indiemodbrohourbanshoppe.

As far as vintage shops go this one is really cute. The prices are decent (some of the handmade stuff is priced high, but if I had the cash I would probably pay it) The employees are friendly and have helped me out with a second opinion. They have a couch in there with a table with a bunch of cards/postcards of local businesses. I always make sure to pick up a few.
If you're in the market for some cute vintage dresses or shirts, I'd head this way...

This is a great little find in Sacramento and it's worth the visit if you're ever in the area. The shop has a cool little boutique feel to it and the clothing here is very unique and original. For those of you seeking to stand out from the rest of the crowd and for you fashionistas, I recommend cuffs! Get all prettied up here and then go dancing at Faces!!!
