Review from Johnny D.
Buena Park, CA
Oh yes, I remember swimming in this pool. I loved this pool. The water feels great, not too hot nor cold, just perfect. I'm not sure what they did to the water, but it feels a lot lighter - that is, it's easier to swim through and not feel the drag of the water. The pool has a shallow side too, for those just wading.
And did I mention the diving pool? It's a second pool complete with diving boards. That's right - you're not supposed to dive in the main pool, although in the deep end, who's going to stop you?
Only problem is... it's definitely not free to get in. -

Last summer, the "Beach" pool used to be a nice place to lounge and sip on gin & tonics, without anyone bothering you... generally. inbetween classes, at the end of a long day, or just a damn pool to swim in (they're hard to come by) - i came here many a days.
Now things have changed. the pool has a full-time "lifeguard" who sits in his/her highchair, looking over those who swim. maybe something happened, requiring this change to take place, but im pissed! there's just something uncomfortable about swimming while having someone watching over you. and to top it off, there's now a greater chance of getting busted for boozin' it! I will say however, the guy who ive seen there most frequently, the one who blasts van halen and other cock rock hits, looks kinda dumb. im sure a water bottle would do the trick...
The "beach" pool DOES require that you have your student ID on hand, but the young kids who check 'em seem to care less, often allowing me to swim even when i dont have mine on me.

So, you know those new security cameras? I wouldn't risk taking a midnight skinny dip anymore... hypothetically :(

Review from Ivan B.
Bellflower, CA
This pool is amazing. You only pay a dollar during open swim sessions. They have life guards on duty. The water's temperature is optimal. It's a great place to swim if it doesn't get too full. in that case, you would have to share lanes.
