I really enjoyed playing Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club.  It is located about 30 miles south of downtown in Henry County. The course opened in 2006 and if it was located on the North side of Atlanta it would be a very popular course.  

The clubhouse is very large with all the amenities. I believe that they will eventual become a private club if they can sell enough memberships.  They are practically giving away memberships right now. If I lived on the south-side, I would seriously consider joining.

The regular rates are very affordable. Weekend rate of $65 includes cart with GPS and range balls.   The course is difficult with numerous water hazards and deep bunkers to avoid but is playable if you can navigate around the trouble.  Choose which tee to play from carefully.  There are four tees for the men that range from 5,943 to 7,202 yards and the front tees has a slope of 130!  

The course is well taken care of and the staff was friendly and helpful.  Due to the course being relatively unknown, we played in under 4 hours on a sunny Saturday in April.

I highly recommend Crystal Lake for your next round.   I always see plenty of available times on http://lmtt.com.
