(This is basically the same as the Marriott Crystal Gateway.)  This is not as nice as a JW Marriot but it's a pretty nice hotel.  The rooms are good sized and the patrons of the hotel are usually government types so it's pretty quiet.  If you have status with Marriott and have access to the club lounge, it's one of the better breakfast's in a Marriott (not a JW).  They have oatmeal, croissants, cereal, grits, and fresh mufffins.  The rates can vary from $120 to $400 so try to book in advance cuz it's not worth $400, or anything close to it.  I gave this place 5 stars because I had my first kiss with the love of my life here and it will alllllways have a special place in my heart :)

- They have shuttles to and from DCA.
- Medium quality towels
- Great bed, hard not to have a great night's sleep here
- Standard Marriott toilettries
- Good access to Washington DC without the price of a DC hotel
- Parking is a bit pricey, upwards of $30/night
- Key difference to Marriott Gateway (I think) no access to crystal city underground

Typical Marriott. No surprises good or bad. Everything works. Prompt and helpful service. Accommodating to special requests within reason. If you need to be near the Metro Line, or the Pentagon or National Airport (good hotel for a quick nap as it is attached to National by Metro), this is the place to stay. Its a Marriott so dont come expecting a fabulous experience...think reliable, safe, comfortable. Four Stars

Missing outdoor pool like the Hyatt that next to it.  The gym is not small like all other marriott, but the odd part about this one is you have to pass by the 2nd Fl where all the conference rooms are located.

Anyway, this one don't have a refrigerator.  So, I have to go ice all the time.  Overall, just good for a few days lodging.

Wonderfully accessible with a free shuttle to and from the Reagan Airport with a quick underground walk to the nearest subway stop.

The rooms were above average in quality with a nice big flat screen television facing the best bed ever.

The room was pretty spacious with a good-sized bathroom, which makes sharing a breeze.

The room service was pricey as usual, but the quality of food was well above average.

We will definitely stay here the next time we're back in DC.

Freakin' aye - there are too many of these Marriotts!  You could very easily mix up Crystal City with Crystal Gateway or the Courtyard, which aren't really that far away.  The cab drove us around in circles until I finally found the leftover receipt I'd written down the address on.

While I only spent a night here, the bed was COMFY.  They give you a buttload of pillows (buttload = 6+).  Room was nice, kinda fancy schmancy.  The shampoo/conditioner/lotion bottles had a little snap top, unlike many of the other bottles I've encountered previously.  The soap was a citrus yummyness.  No, I didn't eat the soap or take it home with me...

Overall, if I ever have the $$ (it's more like $$$$) to, I might come back again.  There is a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport (Reagan National).  Make sure you get off at the right hotel, or you'll need to wait for the next one to hit up your stop.  The shuttle goes to all the Marriotts, hence the possible confusion.  The metro stop isn't far away either - there were signs to it, but we never took 'em.  Cabs are easy - they just show up in front of the hotel, or they will call one for you.  Rides to and from the monuments range from $12-$15.
