This is from the perspective not of someone who went to the center... but someone who regularly buys the kettle corn they sell at a booth at Brimfield every time the antique fair rolls around. The kettle corn they offer there is sinfully buttery and the salty/sweet combined with getting it hot out of the kettle is wonderful. The roasted nuts are also somewhat good in flavor, though the texture is a bit hard on my teeth (really, really hard). However, there is one thing that might need to be improved on: Branding. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but it is very memorable; this is what the laser-printer pumped label on the cone bag of nuts said:

Guy's Nuts.

Take that as you will.

The first time I had experienced Crystal Caves was on a date.  It was late at night and kinda cool out so there wasn't any little kids running around.  Time for some adult golf!!  I would tell you about the bet...but well I can't cause this is read by alot of younger people.....

OK...The course is cute, lots of interesting things to look at while waiting for your date to finish up eyeing up the ball to the hole like his life depended on it.  Nice waterfalls too.  The course has interesting challenges to keep it fun.  Ice cream and pizza is sold and you can sit in the eating area. I think they have music piped outside too if I can remember right. It's a good night for clean fun .  Unless you make a bet like we did....btw...I lost!!  YAY for me!!!

I had my 16th birthday party here.  No lie.  I don't need no $500 party dress, $1000 per hour rental halls, pizza imported directly from Italy, midgets, and B list rappers at my party, a la My Super Sweet Sixteen.  No, give me cheap ass mini golf any day.

Sweet Sixteen's aside, this place is really small for a mini-golf place.  Driving by it, it's hard to tell that there is actually 18 holes here.  The place is kind of dirty, and is/was/always will be full of annoying townie teenagers.  The batting cages are alright, nothing spectacular.  I was always afraid I was going to get head lice from the communal batting helmets.

They also have food and ice cream.  I think we had pizza for my birthday, and I don't remember it sucking.  It's pretty  hard to fuck up pizza in my opinion.  I think they might get their ice cream from Ronnie's across the street.

The only reason this place gets 3 stars is because at least Crystal Caves offers some kind of entertainment in the void that is Worcester/Auburn.

Oh yeah, my Daddy did not get me a new Benz, either.  I got something way better.  He showed me how to be a responsible adult by buying a Powder Blue Ford Escort Station wagon with my OWN money! Super Sweet 16 my ass.

Crystal Caves is something Worcester County/ Central Mass really should have more of and doesn't. They're a welcome part of the Auburn/Oxford area. Located near the 290/395 split and I-90 between the Auburn Mall and Wal-mart they are extremely easy to get to. Their bread and butter is their mini-golf course, batting cages, and ice cream. They also have a batting cage like soccer cage, trampoline, gyro-sphere, and pizza. They are open after dusk so you can play golf in the fully lit course which is nice. The course is well designed complete with a river, waterfall, and of course the cave. The prices are reasonable but not a steal at about $8 for an mini golf but the $1.25 is pretty darn good for a batting cage token.
