Oh my goodness, Cruzer, you have restored my faith in pizza.

My feller and I have ordered vegan pizza from Cruzer probably a half dozen times now, and every single slice has been outrageously delicious.  It's consistently good. I'm not a big fan of the vegan "sausage," but that's not really Cruzer's fault.

Every time we've enjoyed one of these pies, we've had them delivered, and I have absolutely no complaints. They're prompt, courteous, and the pizza always arrives hot.

I am devastated to be moving out of this neighborhood, and out of Cruzer's delivery range!

I finally decided to give cruzers a try. Wow. I wish it did not take me so long. This vegan pizza was AMAZING!!!!!!
We ordered a margarita pizza with garlic and a cheese with vegan Canadian bacon. This vegan pizza is better than animal pizza. Thank you Cruzers!

My one request: please please please make a gluten free crust.

Vegan Pizza was incredible.
Their vegan cheese was, dare I say, cheesier than reg cheese.
Vegan sausage was awesome.
I ate the WHOLE thing and can't wait to go back.
I hope they add gluten free crust.

One of the main reasons I had trouble being vegan in the past was the lack of a suitable cheese alternatives! You can throw that problem out the door because Daiya cheese is as good, if not better, than regular dairy cheese.  I tried the hawaiian pizza and it was delicious. So nice to have a place like this in the neighborhood, and they deliver! My only gripe is there is only counter-seating with 3 chairs- otherwise this place rules!!

So this weekend was my last binge before I go on my official "wedding diet" and get on the righteous path to heysoos.

No last binge is complete without PIzza, so I perused Quarry Girl's blog for pizza advice (QG- you are the pizza master), saw her review about Cruzer and off we went.

Got the Margerita pizza that has extra cheese on it, and omigawdareyouffingkiddingmeseriously.... drooooooool. SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD.  This place takes the cake. Got the chicken parmigiana too and it was good, but it's all about the pizza here. By the way I neglected to mention that the aforementioned items were 100% VEGAN SUCKAS!

Next time won't be for a long time, but you bet your ass I will get the vegan calzone.

the 1 star is only regarding my failed attempt at ordering a pizza to pick up over the phone..after 5 minutes of trying to order a vegan pizza, the dude on the phone had NO clue what i was talking about..he asked if i wanted mozzerella on it, if i wanted canadian bacon..what the effff man??

is the phone number on yelp wrong? is there no more vegan menu?  super frustrating that there's been so many good reviews of this place but if an employee has no clue what vegan is, how trusted is it? aarrrrghhhhh.

Really good vegan pizza. I usually get the Vegan Cheese pizza with Vegan Sausage and Mushrooms.

Be warned though there's actually a non-vegan pizza place at 323-660-0600 not too far away. I called them accidently once and the guy on the other line had no idea what I was talking about. "We have only one kind of sausage here!!!" I believe this is what reviewer amanda h. is talking about.

I just heard about this place and I am SO stoked. They have a full vegan menu with pizza, pasta, and calzones and they use a new non-soy based cheese that's not widely available yet (but very tasty). I had the vegan BBQ chicken pizza and it was really good. I'm definitely going back. Plus, they deliver all the way to Echo Park. Please support this place!

BTW, it's just a counter that you order from. There is no dining area. You will probably have to park on the street although they have 1 or 2 spaces.

You will NOT find vegan pizza like this. They have a new vegan cheese that's not even on the market yet.
Everything is good here! And for a nice dinner, go next door to Desert Rose, they also have a huge vegan menu that is amazing.
Go get a vegan pizza!

Cruzer's vegan pizza blows away the vegan pizza at Damiano's, and Cruzer's offers a lot more vegan options, and is the best vegan pizza I've ever had anywhere.  In addition to their vegan cheese (which tastes a lot better than the Damianos cheese), they have vegan pepperoni, ham, sausage, and chicken.  They also have a vegan calzone, and various vegan pasta dishes, including a vegan "meat" lasagna.

Not sure if they have vegan ranch dressing, but would be cool if they do.

Just don't count on having a sit down meal at Cruzer's, as there is nowhere to sit.  Parking in that area is scarce, but you can just double-park for a couple minutes in their tiny parking lot while you run in to pick up your food.

A new age is before us.

Gone are the days of chomping on lazy vegan cheese that tastes of foot. Gone are the days of half melted something or another. Some folks made a cheese called daiya, and its hella vegan, soy free and actually not terrible for you. It makes yer poops weird though. I think i like it better than nutritional yeast.

This Cruzer joint has it. Its small, mostly a take out joint, and if you ask them if you can open a beer inside, they'll say no. But I get the feeling a couple choice words might change the "no" to "yes". They make big pizzas with this delicious, delicious cheese, and even with fake meats. I don't often wish I was a resident of Los Angeles, but now when pizza comes to mind, I do. I sure do.

Did I mention it stretches?! Eating it, if felt like that character in A Goofy Movie (uncredited, but totally voiced by Pauly Shore!) that eats the "leaning tower of cheese-a".

On the road towards going vegan, I found myself missing pizza the other day... Cruzer saved me.

I ordered the vegan Margherita pizza and added some garlic to it, and I have to say, it is an absolutely amazing substitute for the real deal. The crust was pretty good, the sauce not too overpowering, and the cheese? Well, I have been reading about the super special Daiya cheese that Cruzer uses on its vegan pizzas, and it definitely lived up to the hype. (Not to mention that I didn't get that awful feeling that I get whenever I have regular pizza and lounge around in a food coma for about an hour afterwards.)

I am so glad this place exists. Unfortunately it will have to replace Crispy Crust for me (unless they decide to make some vegan pies, too). They have a nice selection of vegan pasta dishes you can order as well, in case you're not in the mood for pizza. I haven't tried any of them yet, but I definitely plan to. If the pasta is good, then Cruzer may just earn that fifth star.

Oh yes, and what else is special about Cruzer? If you pick up your order, Cap'n Cork is right across the street! Talk about ideal location!

Every now and then I'm a terrible vegan. Especially when it comes to pizza. If someone waves a hot slice of happiness my way, there's gonna be trouble. Jessica C. in Long Beach knows how much I love cheese, she's tempted me many-a-time with her fucking cheese filled pastas and pesto sauces! Grrr! She mocks my veganism, but I'm gonna keep a stiff upper lip! I represent team Veg!

So, in comes Cruzers. Sure, I could make my own bad ass pie at home, topped with faux meats galore and even some vegan cheese...
Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of a giant pizza oven and that's what makes a pizza pie so delicious. Chewy, soft inside with a crispy outside. You can't get that at home, unless you're crazy enough to put bricks in your oven (I've thought about it). And the Daiya vegan cheese-- Yum! It's melty, stretchy and creamy like real cheese. I don't know about you, but I can't find this stuff in the store, and I'm not willing to spend the ridiculous shipping fees to get the stuff from http://veganstore.com

Another cool thing about Cruzers, they've got educational brochures and pamphlets on vegetarian diets laying around on their store counters.  I think it's great that they support the vegan/vegetarian community. Also, I hear they've removed veal from their menu! Hooray! Progressive pizza!

Cruzer's, you are The Win®!

Really good vegan pizza with Daiyo cheese and really good preparation.  It is a little expensive for pizza so it's a splurge when you just feel like eating junk food.  And it's not just because of the Daiyo either because their animal eater's pizzas are too expensive too.  And it is definitely better for delivery or take out since the whole place is about as big as my kitchen!  But I want more of their pizza for sure and I need to try the vegan pasta dishes soon!!

My boyfriend and I are HUGE pizza lovers, so when this place opened up we were super stoked. They "specialize" in whole wheat crust, so we thought we'd try it out. Big mistake. When i opened the box it smelled like gasoline.. and it tasted like cardboard.

With so many great pizza places in the area, I don't see how this place will stay open. Blegh.

I've swallowed the cheese.  And now I'm in the Cruzer Vegan Pizza Cult! I chatted with the owner tonight, who was very cool, and he told me Cruzer has been open and serving regular pizza about a year-and-a-half. The vegan pizza is a more recent add, as they've only been serving it 2 months. When asked why, he told me his daughter is vegan. I thought that was both a very supportive gesture and a smart business move. My initiation pizza was a thin crust Vegan Margareta (to which I added vegan pepperoni). They offer both thick and thin crust, as well as wheat or regular dough. The owner's son told me the Vegan BBQ Chicken (with BBQ sauce) and the Vegan Hawaiian are the two most popular. I look forward to trying those as well as the Vegan Vegetable Pizza where I'm going to get pineapple, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, jalapenos, and garlic. Yes, I've already picked my toppings. Their Vegan Meat Pizza and Vegan Chicken Parmigiana are intriguing as well. And wouldn't you know it, I'm in their delivery range. VEGAN BOOYA!

I'm gonna make this easy.

Vegan Pizza - yes it is amazing; I was quite impressed.  Is Daiya cheese really made from angel's tears?  wow..

Price - grab your ankles and try not to cry, little Timmy.  i was AMAZED by how much this tasty pizza costs.  I'm not sure if Daiya cheese is actually made from the breast-milk of yogis or what, but $22 for a single pizza??    I mean, gourmet is gourmet but this is no restaurant and you are certainly not paying for service.

Service -  I'm pretty sure you guys actually hate vegetarians but are only doing this because so many of us Los Feliz / Silverake assholes are vegetarians.   The guys were rude to me and messed up my order and then offered to fix it but gave me the most apathetic look as if to say  "Yes, I will fix your order but I would rather listen to a CD of whales raping each other."

Let me recap:  The pizza is goddamn amazing.  I cannot recommend enough that you pay this ransom money and buy it because you WILL regale its glory.  But expect for the pizza to be the best thing you have to say about this place.

I ordered a Vegan Hawaiian, and not only did it take a good 50-55 minutes to deliver literally up the street to where I live, but some slices only had 1-2 pieces of "ham" and just a little more pineapple than that. The "cheese" tasted cheese-like, but the texture is totally off. Its saucy, and sticks to the roof of your mouth. Next time I'll order a cheese-less pizza from elsewhere. What made this vegan pizza taste like pizza was the crust anyway. $16 for a medium.

Google gave us some wicked directions to this place. It is in Los Feliz - I live in Silver Lake - so it was not as far as google made us go. Yes, I was not driving. Yes, I could have given my friends directions. Yes, I was too busy in the back seat chatting and didn't notice how far we were going until we were on freeway.

Artichokes & jalapenos is what I got on my pizza. It was about $6 for a medium. Not bad especially because I am the type to eat two slices and get full.

I went there because my usual suspects were stoked about some vegan cheese. I am not vegan but some of my friends are. This is why I eat strange chit.... I do enjoy the strange stuff though :)

The pizza was good...it taste like pizza. It wasn't too greasy or anything. I find it hard to write a review about a pizza because its just freaking pizza. Unless the crust had sugar & cocaine on it I will just put all pizza on the same level.

...and there you have it - this pizza did not stand out. There was no zest, fireworks or confetti.

pizza is pizza is pizza because its pizza. Even burnt pizza is pizza and frozen pizza is pizza and homemade pizza is pizza. It doesn't matter because its pizza and you're going to eat it no matter what just because its pizza and everyone loves pizza.

Now, there may be a slight chance that I've never had tear jerking pizza. You know the kind...
you ever eat something sooo delicious that you start getting aroused while eating it??? I have never had a pizza like that. I would love to one day. That would be some tear jerking pizza.

Someone should recommend a good pizza joint so I can get my flirt on with it.

Mar had his pizza with peperoni. I didn't try it but he says it was good. I wouldn't really trust his opinion though because he eats everything. I blame the medicinal herbs he helped himself to earlier in the day.

Sol & Harms enjoyed their pizza too. They got the meaty meaty not so meat meat vegan pizza. They said in the future they will just order the veggie one. I guess the mock meat wasn't too tasty. They did enjoy the vegan cheese though.

The pizza man who took our order was cool. I did enjoy exchanging words with him. The food took about 25 - 30 minutes. During that wait we walked across the street to the liquor store (I have to review that place) and got a few beverages for later in the evening.

We head back across the street to pick up the food and this happy vegan bunny hopped out from behind the counter. She was sooo excited we went there just for a vegan pizza. She was talking much about the cheese and how she is the reason the cheese is in Southern California. She brought the cheese to the America. Because of her, the vegan bunny, there is vegan cheese on our pizza. She is the reason for the season. I don't really remember the name of the cheese because I wasn't paying too much attention ( i lost interest when she made the cheese holy) but it was important to her and my friends Sol & Harms. During the cheesy conversation I do remember Harms saying "maybe we'll order some online or something" the vegan bunny said "pft, hmmpth, good luck". I guess the only way to get that type of cheese is through her and only her.... the cheese gangsta.
(big vegan spending cheese - jayZ big pimpin)

Pizza is pizza is pizza is pizza. I will never write another review about a pizza joint ever again until I eat some that makes me moist.

I just realized that I don't care too much for pizza.

*post script: the place is take out only... if you want to eat there bring some chairs and a table.

my vegan friend and i ordered pizzas from here and they were AMAZING!  we got the vegan cheese on both.  i had heard rave reviews of the daiya cheese and wanted to try after being thoroughly disappointed over and over again by gross vegan cheeses that were either blended cashews or plastic.  I'm not vegan and oh, man, do i love my cheese (i could eat humbolt fog or dubliner for every meal) but i was really impressed with this. it's the first time i haven't felt like i was eating vegan cheese!  and the faux meaty meat pizza was really good!  i think they use gimme lean sausage...
my only complaint is that they called us back like 15 minutes after we ordered to find out what we had ordered.  then had a really hard time finding the house.  but honestly, whatever, it was noon on a sunday, they were probably hung over.
i'm happy

If you're looking for super-thin crust, floppy, giant NY-style pizza, keep looking.

If you're looking for tasty, bread-y pizza with tons of cheese and toppings, STOP looking, you found it!

If you're looking for love, you might be doing it in all the wrong places, so keep that in mind.

If you are looking for Mr. Goodbar, BE CAREFUL! I hear he might be dangerous.

If you still haven't found what you're looking for, talk to Bono, because I bet he can empathize.

In summary: Cruzer Pizza is alright!

the most incredible vegan pizza EVER.   omg.   had the margareta pizza on saturday night.   yes, i'll admit it was so damn good, and i was SO not in the mood to do laundry AND cook last night.......that i went back again and got the vegan hawaiian.   both were amazing.   margareta needed a bit more fresh basil (i'll ask for extra next time) but that is my only semi-not-really-a-gripe-gripe.

seriously cannot even begin to recommend this enough.  the tempeh bacon and portobello mushroom pizza at Flore (silverlake) still rocks my world.....but this is like Little Caesar-Cruzer Vegan Vegan...   i fear for my life now that i have found cruzer pizza and that i'm in walking AND delivery "range".

I order from cruzers all the time. They deliver whole wheat pizzas with high quality toppings right to my house. They say it'll take about 45 minutes to get the food delivered, but I've never waited more than about 30-35 minutes.

Hey Now !

Check it out...I found this little place by accident !

I was thrown out the back of Cap n' Cork for shop lifting and low and behold this little place appears outtah nowhere.

I arise from the floor, dust myself off, and wave my fist at the stock boy who just tossed me out like the daily trash ! I walk across the street to find out what's the deal.

Cheeks: "Salutations my good man, I was wondering if you were interested in hearing about the specials I have to offer today...I, um, we sell these XLRG coloring books complete with markers for the little ones...we also have available the Remote control car with blaring sirens that can turn 4 ways ! It's amazing..."

Cruzer Guy: "Uh...no sir, I'm Ok...you have to leave, if you're not buying anything..."

I quickly asses my situation, XL coloring books and RC cars aren't doing anything in my life except getting an earful of ridicule...fook it !
I throw trinkets in trash...ok, it's on !

Cheeks: " Uh...so what do you have my good man ?"

Cruzer Guy: "Well, we have the Pick Up Special...Large Pizza w/ 2 toppings for $8.99..."

Cheeks: "Sounds good, I'll take that...with...Eggplant and Mushrooms, please." http://www.yelp.com/bi...

Cruzer Guy: "Ok...anything else ?"

Cheeks: "Yes...could you please Anchovies to that ?

Cruzer Guy: "Are you sure...you want to do that?"

Cheeks: "si ! and add The Calzone http://www.yelp.com/bi... and a Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich http://www.yelp.com/bi... to boot, my good man."

Cruzer Guy: "Please, stop that...don't call me that again..."

Cheeks: "Uhh...ok...sir..."

Fast forward 20 minutes and 6 cigarettes later...*cough weez*

Cruzer Guy: "Ok...that'll be $22 and change..."

Cheeks: "Wow...what a deal...what a deal..."

Cruzer Guy: "Thank you my friend, come again...soon."

I get home and quickly look over the feast I'm about to enjoy...everything looks...GREAT ! !

- Pizza - 5 Stars !! well...4 actually because of the anchovies but I can't blame Cruzers for that can I ?

- Calzone - 3 Stars...Sauce is good and so is the Calzone...but not excellent...the Sauce actually bumps it up .5 of a Star.

- Chicken Parmigiana Sub - 5 Stars ! ! This is NICE ! ! Again the Sauce is incredible and the blending of the Chicken with the cheese is really good. The accompanying pickled Veggies just make it that much more awesomer ! ! (is that a word?)

This place is really good and will try it again. And soon too !

When this place opened up I was so excited. About 2 days into opening me and my boy walked in and ordered...it was good pizza.

About 3 weeks later I phoned in the order and I was SO DISAPPOINTED!! The guy answering the phone was a total jerk!!! He answered 'What do you want' I kid you not! He took my order and he had a MAJOR ATTITUDE!

What the hell? I almost called back the next day just to speak to the manager about that guy, I couldnt believe for a new place to open like this, they would have staff answering the phone in that ghastly manner. The pizza was good, cant say the spaghetti and garlic bread I ordered were.

There is simply no justification for getting pizza here unless your ultimate goal is to save 2 dollars.  If you're interested in saving two dollars on your pizza, then maybe living in the los feliz area has not been one of your wiser decisions (and if money really is your bottom line, then Cheech's is where you should be getting your bare bones cheap pizza from because Cheech's is way better than Cruzer.)  Back to the topic, Cruzer's ingredients aren't fresh - any pizza with basil will have dried basil and not fresh basil.  The dough really does have an odd rubbery texture to it (I would agree with those who characterize it as synthetic or frozen tasting).  Its basically completely substandard given the local options (Lucifer's, Garage, Crispy Crust, and Nicky D's are all far superior).  Cruzer falls into the domino's category around here.  If I was from a foreign land and never had pizza before in my life, then maybe i'd be like, wow this is good pizza, but since I've had pizza before, this just doesn't make the grade.  For the best pizza dollar for dollar, you're better off with any other local option.
